Thanks Chris, nice video! We're looking forward to our customers enjoying this very new aircraft model (real world - only 5 are built / delivered now and in EMD testing with the USAF). Entry to service - probably 2028. Low rate serial production is slated to begin late 2025 - more likely 2026. FYI, external power and GPU displays work when you're on a game parking spot with external AC power available.
Aaaah… sorry, I figured I’d done something re the GPUs! 🤦🏼♂️ Great work though, good luck with the release!
Looks like you've worked the same magic with this that you did with the F-22, I'll definitely be picking it up soon!
Glad to see you back Chris.Keep it up
@@Ollie2011-l5n can’t dedicate too much time to it but keen to get back into the sim some more
There's something so unimaginably cool about tiny fast jets.
Too true! Pocket 🚀
Looks like fun Chris.Nice to see you back.
Thanks! Always here, just inconsistent! 😅
Great couple of videos on the T7, thanks for posting. I always enjoy your material, nice to have you back.
Awesome video Chris! Great to see another one from you. Lovely looking plane and top flying as always!!. Hope you're keeping well :)
Thanks, my pleasure. All well but very busy!
Thanks Chris! Great video as usual. Happy New year!
Thanks, same to you!
Wow, the raytraced self-reflection on the exterior looks stunning. Thanks for doing this review, Chris. I'm a light jet appreciator and this looks like a must have. Warmest wishes for 2025.
I’m still very new with the settings in 2024 but impressed so far! Thanks, and same to you!
Thanks for the vids. We all look forward to more on this fine bird. I struggled with landings and realize we have to master that speed control at higher alpha. I did manage one reasonable touchdown and flew at dusk so I could better view the HUD. Look forward to learning more especially the avionics.
Nice video, Im looking forward to seeing follow up videos on this like your T1 series. Cheers!
Need to figure the avionics out a bit more, or wait for the updates. But this is an awesome trainer for sure!
Picked it up tonight - $28. Thanks for the heads up! Only had time for a very short flight, but it's a very nice jet!
Glad to hear it! Enjoy
Great to see you back, Chris. Hope you had a great Christmas. This looks great. Looks like a mash-up of a Hawk T2 and an F-18! Seemed ridiculously capable and forgiving, too. Perfect for a bit of fun. I hope it's like that in real life! 😂
Doubt they’d let the students fly it like that! 😂 I’m kind of back, just finding some time where I can. Hopefully I can find some consistency again. And thanks, same to you 👍🏻
All the magic of Top Mach's F-22 but only 1/4 of the weight!
Thanks for the video, great as usual! To fuel up in MSFS 2024 you need to open EFB (tab is shortcut), go to airplane tab and set fuel and load there. It may also be needed to import flight plan to the plane avionics, unless included Garmin can do it (in their B-2 it can)
Aaaaah! Thanks! Back to school on flight sim 😂
Happy to help 😀I have spent some time setting it up, but at present MSFS 2024 is marginally usable in VR (I am VR simmer) with at least 4 major bugs seriously interfering with usage. Bugs are reported and at least one is promised to be fixed. It has lots of potential, maybe in 3-6 months it will be OK. 😀
That thing is dead sexy! Thanks for the introduction sir!
@@dillank3240 agreed! And my pleasure 👍🏻
Thank you so much for this review, I'll definitely be picking this up! I have and love Top Mach's F-22 and how easy and forgiving it is to control in low speed high alpha situations, and it looks like they've combined that with the super light weight of the L-39 and MB-339, but without losing the afterburners. I previously bought the M-346 based on your review, but it is very unforgiving at lower speeds such as in the landing pattern. My current lightweight supersonic champion is the Griffin from Deimos, and it looks like this will be a perfect replacement for that.
Great video as usual, Chris! Glad to see you back!
I’m wondering if you might be approached by IFE to take a look at their early build typhoon? I’m imagining it will be a huge step up from the current CJS typhoon.
Here’s hoping!
CG Back in the house! Great video!
Got my foot in the door at least! Lol
Great Video as always thanks Chris, happy Christmas and all the best for 2025.
Thanks, and the same to you! 👍🏻
Welcome back!!
Thanks! Never left, just super busy 😄
Great video, I can't wait for this one!
@@FlightSimMuseum thanks, should be here soon!
Really looking forward to this one!
Fun stuff! Always a pleasure 👏
Thanks 🙏🏻
Great looking jet, great video thank you!
My pleasure, thanks 👍🏻
nice to have saab behind this cool airplane.. looks very capable 😊
Always a fan!
Been wanting to get this since I first watched the video but holding off until it’s in the 2024 Marketplace.
Nice to see the dev made the manual available on their site (and actually has one).
Pity it’s not possible to purchase anywhere other than official store given the 2024 debarcle.
@@NataliesHistoryAndAviation a debarcle now but once it’s up and running it’ll be cool.
We need this a/c in DCS!
Awesome, thanks😊
Pleasure 👍🏻
Some sharp aerobatics!
Thanks! Cobbled together, but I should really do a full run through at some point! Especially now I’ve figured the replay tool out.
She looks good, but I really hope it doesn't have the same issues as the B-2, like within 10 minutes after take of all flight systems locking up and falling out of the sky.
Never found that! This seemed very stable so hopefully it works for you 👍🏻
like it very much will buy
@@F15Aeagle simples! 😁
This jet looks like it would be a totally badass rate fighter. When you banked and said "Max Back Stick," you came very close to pulling a 360° minimum rate turn in which the diameter of your turn circle was very close to the distance across both of the main runways that are in parallel. No way to know if this is accurate to the IRL jet, but if it is even close, man the USAF might wanna consider purchasing a bunch of these for the Lightweight Tactical Fighter concept that they (USAF) keep returning to.
Maybe its time to bust that concept out for good, & vtart ordering the manned fighter version of this jet.
.
Yeah, sign me up!
Beautiful jet! And I thought the T-38 was amazing in ‘83 when I went through UPT. Well, it was amazing considering when it was developed. But the T-7 is really something else. I’m curious if the real jet actually can perform as well as the model 🧐
If it does, count me back in as an instructor! Chaaaarge!
Indeed a huge step from the 1981 T-38 at Sheppard AFB!
Great Video!
Interesting that the other contenders for becoming the replacement Jet Trainers are having a look similar to each other. Think it will be decided in 2026.
This F404 has a lot of raw power.
So how does it compare to your "baby" the Hawk T1?
And have you checked how thorough the made the Avionics and systems, functioning & depth?
Sill looking for a video on how to get the AP functions working.
Well the attention to detail on the exterior is incredible! Can't help but to feel like the interior is underwhelming. Perhaps next time cast some sunlight into the cockpit to illuminate the surfaces?
Plenty of sun getting in there, just a bit dark. It’s always going to play second fiddle to the exterior. Especially with all those screens.
Thanks Chris
Pleasure 👍🏻
Happy new year Chris. Just wondering, how do you make the view lean etc when you look around inside the cockpit?
Rather fond of the L-39 Albatros, particularly for high speed touring. This looks like about the same thing, but with a lot more punch. If there is a way to lose ****** Betty I´m sold. Mini-F/A-18 look is a plus.
Yeah, also a fan! Perhaps delete the sound file lol!
Nice looking plane, pity about the flat glass cockpit, looks like that’s the future of aviation, just lacks character….but it’s probably safer.
@@daviddavids8218 I know what you mean, I prefer old school! But when fully modelled and customisable (F35), it’s actually pretty useful.
Nice review. I know it's a different aircraft, but how does it compare (quality) with the T1 in MSFS?
Night and day! T7 is a fly by wire, more powerful and more manoeuvrable jet with advanced avionics. T1 model is likely more true to life due to its age and documentation available, but the T7 model is really fun to fly!
Looks a definite purchase, but only when Marketplace available as I fly casually on XBox Series X as well as PC. Are pilot(s) not available to see in external view?
@@ColinDyckes I’ve not managed to get my pilots to appear in many of the third party addons. Probably a me problem!
I wonder how effective this aircraft will be as a supposed replacement for the T-38. All those auto systems and advanced functionality don't seem to make a good trainer in my mind. Maybe I'm just too old and out of touch but not everyone is getting a seat in an F-35.
I think it’ll be incredible! I’m old school as well but with all the extra systems in modern jets, you need AP so give yourself some breathing room. Auto flaps is a scary one though!
Now available on the MarketPlace (January 2, 2025). No pilot avatars though, and the interior is a little bland.
Haven't watched the entire video yet, so forgive me if I missed it, but how do you get the pilot to show?
It’s an FS2024 bug from what I’ve seen on other videos. Jonathan Beckett has commented on it.
He made a good suggestion that devs should be allowing the default pilots to show if their custom ones don’t work for 2024. Not sure if that applies to this aircraft, anyone able to confirm if pilots show in 2020?
@NataliesHistoryAndAviation they don't. I have all the aftermarket, pilots and all the default pilots, and I probably tried thirty pilots and none of them work.
At least this one is flying unlike the real one 😂😂😂
😂
Cool video & plane. I'm curious why it may be a little 'too good...' :)
I’m used to loud jets that under perform, this thing is like a mini F18! 😎
@cgaviator Cool!
Looks great! I think it is due to start replacing T-38 in 2026
@@lowlevelRAF That will be awesome!
@ Think it would be a good Hawk T2 replacement? (If/when have the money😂) We need another group trip in the Tornado now we have the GR4😂
All that effort on the external model that is almost never seen, yet the cockpit looks very low fidelity in many areas including the primary avionics :(
Now I understand they probably had to create the entire avionics themselves rather than just dropping in something from WT like a normal GA plane, but the graphics just feel very off and more like what you see in a classic military training sim which generally have lower fidelity graphics.
Think it’ll be a focus on ongoing development
So their website says this is "out now" but I can't find any way to buy it?
If you have both 2020 and 2024, you can buy it in the 2020 Marketplace and it should automatically transfer over to your 2024 library. Wish they'd hurry up and get the Marketplace in 2024 working.
Looks great on the outside but too flat and shiny in cockpit
@@SuperGoldenv would be great if the models bedded in like real aircraft. Bumps and scrapes the more it gets used!
Yeah, looks stunning from the outside. The inside not so much which is the same for the f22. I sit in the virtual cockpit when flying so would prefer the inside to be better than the outside. Lots of devs do this, make the outside really detailed, maybe catering to the masses on xbox. Either way it is still a nice model.
@@cammy9r 1000% this and it really frustrates me that they all put such attention to things I'm not ever seeing anyway.
Me: Mom can I have F35?
Mom: We have F35 at home
F35 at home:
😂
Have you noticed how sensitive all the smaller planes are on takeoff and landing in FS24 vs FS20? I feel like they really screwed up the flight model in the new game.
As an experiment, at slow speeds do a full deflection pull back on the stick .. even the Cessna 172 will do a bizarre / impossible instant vertical climb that doesn’t seem right (shouldn’t have the energy to do that).. curious about your thoughts.
@@zacharypump5910 haven’t tried many aircraft yet. I’ve already dialled down rudder effectiveness! Wouldn’t be surprised. I’ll keep an eye out for it
No, I have not. What I did notice was how much easier smaller planes are on takeoff and landings. More alive. More natural. And far easier to control in 2024 compared to 2020.
@@acratone8300 I'm not sure I was asking you. But who am I to question your experience. All I know is others who thought I was wrong then tried my c172 experiment and quickly changed their minds... The flight model is completely bizarre now. The C172 should not be able to do a 90 degree instant vertical climb at 90kt in response to a full back stick deflection... And this has nothing to do with sensitivity curves
the hud looks very busy
Will it be on xbox?
When the marketplace is updated. Presume that means 2024, not sure for 2020 but I think it’ll be there eventually.
The question I have is when you are flying supersonic in real life, is the cockpit silent?
@@malcolmhart5951 no change in cockpit at all when supersonic. All the vibrations/noise etc travel up and down the body of the plane 👍🏻
It's been a few months!
How are you finding the MSFS24?
@@JaeEffSea taking me a while to set it up how I’m used to it. Graphically it’s a big step up. Aerodynamically I’m still undecided/can’t see an improvement. Systematically, they tried too hard with the whole streaming/zoom into gameplay thing. It’s just annoying!
@@cgaviator I'll stick to DCS for the time being then! Thanks!
Buying it, lol
Simples! 😅
BD-11
Sadly the avionics in this look like a NIGHTMARE to fly in VR. I bet I wouldn't even be able to read half of it with such small fonts.
True, good point
Are you running any mods?
@@ArtificialExperience Nvidia filters but that’s it for now.
Where are the pilots?
@@MegaPeedee they took the day off! 😂 no idea, maybe a bug, maybe a me problem!
no pilot bug.
So the might of the USA could not come up with an orginal name for a trainer
i think everyone is recycling names these days - typhoon... lightning... i'm sure we'll have a spitfire fast jet at some point!

@@VoyagerSimProject 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It's kind of immersion ruining to have a pilotless aircraft. Goofy looking.
lol… also immersion ruining to be sat outside your aeroplane! 😋
Does this mean we're pretty close to release? Really looking forward to this T7
