- The iconic Lockheed Martin SR-72 is one of the most anticipated reconnaissance aircraft to be employed by the United States military. Otherwise known as the “Son of the Blackbird,” this aircraft is an upgraded version of the SR-71 Blackbird that retired in 1998. This video explains everything you need about the Lockheed Martin SR-72 that appeared in the Top Gun Maverick as the Dark Star.

If they’re showing us, it’s most likely 10 years old. They already have its successor and are working on the next one.
Certainly
About 20 to 40 years secret not 10
The upgrades have already been planned, the materials are already wrong. We've been leaked the information, but it's in different places.
Bingo they only go public with out of date technology systems our enemies know about
You're seeing their successor in the sky over New Jersey and other places.
No official announcement exists that I've seen. This video is simply repeating all the speculation that already exists, plus stock animations, and plenty of mentions of Top Gun 2.
It’s real. Black budget exists.
Exactly what I was going to say!
You heard when they are putting out and gave dates. And also ...they don't have to tell us anything. Trust me ..this exists.
you just saved 11:34 min of my day thanks!
Yh this video is complete 🧢🧢
They don't admit to anything that's still relevant.
The Blackbird was in X-Men comic books 10 years before the government admitted to it being real.
Doesn’t that make you wonder how it was in the comic book already?
@@postman702 Wrong. The SR-71 was publicly acknowledged 2 months before it 1st flew. 🤣
The SR-71 was shown on the 1985 movie "Cloak and Dagger" a spy movie😂 and it was listed as top secret in the plans seen in the movie😊
- the Buck Rogers comic books, 1950s
My father was protecting that plane in the early 70s ( The Habu)
0:53 "Mark 6" speed. Wow, this should be called "Beyond Grammar".
I think it's a robot
They use AI to make these vids and then nobody proof reads and fixes them before publication. Lazy.
Beyond SPELLING, not grammar.
The NEW SR-91 can do between Mach 6 and Mach 7. And supposedly can go into orbit higher than any other aircraft.
@@lewis9888 there's a Sr 91??
5:28 mach 3 is something, but doing it with the landing gear down is even more impressive lol
lol, I thought the same thing when I saw that
There was an A-12 pilot, Dennis Sullivan who dropped his gear to slow down when he overshot the base and wanted to come down. It's on UA-cam. "Noisy as hell" he said 🤣
LOL I noticed that too!
😅😅
If it's still being "tested" they fly to with Wheels when
4:03 "But why is the SR72 coming nearly 30 years later then the SR-71?" _Shows a span of 58 years_ lol
retirement. hes talking ab from its retirement
real
Planes have around a 30-year lifespan now. The B-52 is scheduled to be in service for 100 years. Fighter jets are 30-40 years.
The SR-71 was just for reconnaissance, so it didn't need to be replaced early.
Simple answer - no legit comp exist for the SR-71 today - so - NO NEED
bro doesn't wanna admit how old he is!
THIS NEEDS TO BE FACT CHECKED FOR TRUTH.
well google says its true
😅@@desa1865
Right there definitely some bs in this for sure like Russia and China actually having hypersonic missiles I mean they do by there standards but not ares and by there standards we have had them since ww2
we need to check the fact checkers early life
@@desa1865 I hope you don’t blindly trust everything on google. 😂
This guys math sucks. He said 30 yrs 1964 to 2022 isn’t 30 brother. lol. Love this craft.
He may have meant how long the SR-71 was in service.
He said almost
Watch again if you don't believe me
Came here looking for this comment to make sure I wasn't crazy. If he got this on little fact wrong what else did they get wrong?
The x-15 was the fastest manned aircraft. It was rocket powered
I love the SR-71. I was actually sad when it was retired.
Me too. That was my favorite plane as a kid. I was lucky enough to see a retired one up close once.
Check out a book called “sled driver”. It’s amazing.
No matter how you feel about the whole Military-Industrial-Complex thing, you have to admit that it is one beautiful-looking aircraft.
No surprise. This news got out somewhere around 1979 . The word in that day it went several thousand miles per hour. No missiles could catch it.
My uncle was a mechanic on the SR-71 and worked on it at a Top Secret base. A base that doesn’t exist!
@@OGBobby420 The SR-71 was never at any top secret bases.
Was at Hill Field for a while
@@Wreakmayhem That's not a top secret base. Lol
For some testing it was at Groom Lake
@swampman5014 indeed its not.
Thanks to Kelly Johnson for this plane he was a genius plane builder Robert McNamara tried to erase the genius of this man McNamara was in the Whitehouse and didn't understand the intelligence of this man the plane a hundred years ahead of everything upto that time thank you. Kelly Johnson
@@JamesCaldwelll McNamara should have stayed at Ford making cars. He was the architect of everything that went wrong in Vietnam
Johnson was followed by Ben Rich. He also made great strides.
@@allenbenz209He made pants? Strides!
This is old Technology. My father told me about it before he died and that was 20 years ago. He worked for Rocketdyne and had Secret clearance. He said it would push the aircraft to over 5.000 mph. Nothing they can do to him now.
Yeah it’s why it was never made public. Reconnaissance planes are just not relevant anymore with satellites.
@@dabbingraccoons6416 This was for a fighter jet.
Pushing an aircraft to its mechanical limits is much different than the speeds they post that a pilot can handle physically while going in a straight line. The G pull at 5k? you'd have to be up near the space station at those speeds just so the drag resistance doesn't stop your blood from pumping. Also for reference, 5000 mph is roughly mach 6.75.
@@codycastresana7506 You need to look at the Science. Rockets have to go in excess of 24,000 MPH to escape the earths gravity. Astronauts survive it. With the new crafts that Lookheed has developed they produce a plasma bubble around the craft so gravity does not come into play.
Ok
If they declare it exists... then it's already outdated.
Right On Go Army!
Go army? You’re a clown
@@tomdarco2223 Army has zero to do with it
Amazing!! They had a prototype already of the SR72 in 1994.. but now in these days.. the electronics technology that will be fitted in the SR72 will surpass anything that was available in 1994... including the stealth technology.
The grand days of stealth are already over.
The SR-71 wasn’t stealthy, it’s defence was speed.
@KumaBean It was. It was first aircraft that was designed to reduce rcs. It got at least 10x reduction.
@@peceed Fair enough, I’ve been living a lie then 😅
The fact most people arnt shocked at the technology the SR71 had in the 60s blows my mind.
I just watched a video about the SR-91 Aurora. Supposedly can do between Mach 6 and Mach 7. And can possibly go into orbit outside of what anything else can do.
they confirmed it exists, then it has been out of use in a hanger for 20 years gathering dust
Probably 30-40
I think it's so awesome that we share with the world what our secret planes can do.
As of my research it’s been in development since around 2005 and was flying in 2018 and is definitely on missions as we speak
Where?
Not totally sure how radar/missile tracking works, but here’s a thought on the limitations of the SR72. An enemy radar tracks the flight and sends a missile in the tracks of the target aircraft. If the missile has more fuel to reach the target by the time the target itself runs low on its fuel, it seems like the missile would impact. All considering that the missile is able to track the target regardless of how fast the aircraft can travel.
I live in southern California and this morning I saw something in the sky that it took 5 minutes to fly from one end to another in the sky it was fast I'm sure it was over Arizona
Probably a satellite
5 minutes is pretty long...
You saw a ufo!
Cuz you didnt know what it was. Coulda been anything.
Was a Russian spy plane. I saw it too.
That was Kamala’s dream leaving the country….
Wow I am so glad I live in the United States of America !!!!
Finally doing epic looking stuff again
Already participated in the Adaxum presale, and I’m feeling pretty good about the future of ADX. Time to get in while the price is still low!
He is always good. Plans of a good future and new hope. That's me. Mac
I witnessed a test of Aurora, Oct 23,1992. Mach 25, Max Alt 300 miles. The crowded observation platform, was all Corp. Founders and staff. It tested Star Wars space launched missiles. The missiles failed to stop the Rocket Plane.
TR3-B being around since the mid 1980’s. Documentary on Amazon.
Thank you 🙏 just maybe 🤔 we will see it soon merry Christmas 🎄🎁 and happy new year 🎊🎈🎆 everyone 👋☮️
I love the SR-71
The Blackbirds replacement is actually the Blackstar - designed by the Starman himself David Bowie
Imagine being one of the test pilots. Incredible.
Good job for quality from d U.S.!
Aurora also Exists
Thank you, they said it was 8.6 billion dollar light bulb purch6
Since the 90s. There's video taken from one of the Shuttle missions showing a triangular shape craft exit the clouds and leave the atmosphere. Aurora project is also mentioned in X Files, first season 1993, which was a soft conditioning propaganda series designed to disclose some truth mixed with psyops, memes, and some pure nonsense.
They predicted the Shuttle failure with silicon tiles burnt up in 1993 episode "Space" but were able to save the shuttle in the show. Columbia didn't fare as well on Feb 2, 2003 and burned up....
Recent tests confirms this Aircraft can reach Mach 9 ,2 days ago.with a 90,000 Feet Ceiling ,the Aircraft is painted Red with white lines all over it ,it was built in a joint venture with Boeing and Lockheed
SR
80 is the next One. And it will shock heaven and earth!
I always wonder how the design process works for making something like this
Imagine one day you woke up and saw a Hellicarrier flying in the sky; I won't be surprised.
The United States Department of Defense also announced that Airwolf, X-wing fighters, and Imperial Tie Fighters are also real. We've had them since the 1970's.
Love how you pick the specific time to show off the PPTed aircraft.China has shown 2 six generation jets already.
It's proven to do nothing everyone expects a 6th gen to do. Only china refers to them as such, noone else does. Their engines are just as weak and brittle as their airframes. Noone wanted the J20 or J35 which is a knockoff of the F35 that the whole planet loves.
" Rammin 'n Scrammin "
People would have to be mad if they thought the SR-72, or something like it doesn’t exists. The USAF always has something up its sleeve. We did not reveal the F-117 for nearly 10 years. The aircraft you see here is not the SR-72. The SR-72 is a similar size to the Blackbird.
Cough cough aurora sr 91 cough
Mark 6? Ok got you. 😮
Looks like a black, stealthy Su-34 from the front
I was in sac we had 71s they were built in the 1950s.
they don’t retire something before something greater is achieved
SR-71 was retired in 1998. So it’s logical to assume the SR-72 has been a full go since around that time or even before it.
@@MrZach-bj5js no
The key move is to get in early, with Adaxum token you can do that
The problem with anything going 4000mph is that the nose would have to drop at a rate of 1.1 miles per second to maintain earths curvature. Nothing can handle that type of g force especially negative g.
Great ... For shopping. On other continent. 💪🛸
That plane has been in operation for last 10 yrs. Surprised?
Shiiii. They already have it’s replacement 😎
Awesome. Now Russia has to build something worse.
😄😂🤣
It is flying over Ukraine, they cannot even radar track it.
Russia is probably way ahead already.
Well, Russia has the best nukes, let’s be honest (even if most of them have soviet-design)
The only way I could do 😊
I seen a post about 6 months to a year ago a guy put a video on UA-cam because he was using Google Earth and got a shot above a hangar at Area 51 he swore it was a reversed engineered UFO but it was actually the sr-72 Darkstar😅😂😅😂😅😂
The SR-72 prop used in Top Gun is on display at the Palm Springs Air Museum. Along with the F-117 Nighthawk.
too much FUN
When it comes to war equipment, I want to be there with the best
I love this one
I like the engine air inlets. Very clever.
I am curious if the design was slowly leaked or inspiration from it shared, used to help inspire missile design and costruction for various countries.
The air flow is positioned very usefully to it is what i mean. Very powerful yet relatively pragmatic.
The caption: “Source: Lockheed Martin”
Meanwhile the background footage: *Top Gun: Maverick*
Damn, the US really made competitors shit their pants in the Top Gun movie only to be a prank, but here we are, turns out the prank is not a prank😂😂😂
Instead of creating bombs that can handle Mach 6 speeds, I wonder if tungsten projectiles could be used with software to calculate targeting instead? You could create larger single fires and smaller scatter shots depending on the mission.
X-15... I can wait
Rotational detonating engines on this would be epic
3:59 - Or maybe 60 years later.
us gov publishes their tech news with microsoft explorer so by the time we get to know about it they already have the next 2 models in duty and test
I cant wait until that new rule about clickbait is activated on UA-cam.
If you think they made the most sophisticated and fastest plane in 1964 and haven’t made anything better since then you might need to reflect
Once I saw the title, I started coughing and being shocked.
Why did we stop using SR-71 in the first place? If we stopped using them, what is the point of making SR-72?
Modern missles from our adversaries can reach it.
Off the the War Thunder Discord Forums we go!
Darkstar was a callsign used in the 90s when UFO enthusiasts were monitoring radio chatter over Area 51 in the 90's. Guarantee that this is old tech.
Pretty the F117 wasnt even able to break the sound barrier, dontt know why it keeps showing it
5 prototypes needed...
Makes Top Gun planes relics 😅
If you’re not paying attention to Adaxum during this alt run 2024/25, you’re missing out on one of the most exciting ICOs!
What practical use would this plane have?
Technology and funding. Parked this project 👌
These drones everyone is currently seeing is their newest tech.
When is the launch date, I want to buy one
This plane may look futuristic but it will newer match the elegance of the B2B. IMHO
I always ask myself the same question on hypersonic jets..
Why do they have glass or visual from pilot? Or at least cover under speed?
Like Apple, they are always 1 to 2 generations ahead.
Adaxum presale is live, and with everything they’re offering, this could be a game-changer for early investors.
I'm buying the Adaxum ADX token, I believe it will yield at least 50x this cycle.
Engines, fuel tank, and cockpit. Launch, get to altitude, turn, land in 10 minutes or less.
Mark 6 speed? Never knew such speeds existed 💀💀
Mach 6 is 3x faster than ludicrous speed. 😂
Baby Shark Do-Do-ta-Dododo. 🦈
Will it still work after EMP?
this is sooooooooo cool well done maned unmanned who cares
By thr time the military releases a plane, techincally, it is already obsolete. They are already working on the next best thing.
Sweet!
what it's showing is the DarkStar from "Top Gun: Maverick", BUT it WAS built/designed by Lockheed Martin: Skunk Works. Not a functioning craft, just a mock up.
The TRUE top speed of the SR-71 is STILL Classified. It set all of it's records under carefully controlled flights. I worked on them and they were very special, but finicky aircraft, that required a lot more work for every hour they flew usually 3 to 5 hours more. As for next gen, that's still classified as well. They actually started working on an SR replacement back before desert storm times. But nothing was even close to the tech needed. Most of what is said is conjecture. Because those who really know are sworn to secrecy, just like I was (and am) for many items that do and don't exist, both then and now.
Makes sense, now this is the explaination for those UFO sightings. Both manned and unmanned.
Is it lightspeed?
Like coast to coast in 2h30 mins is what it does...
Congrats to all early adopters, Adaxum will crush this year
its the ADF-01 FALKEN!!!
10:53 you need to check your numbers
Older than that. I actually caught a pic of it probably 10-12 years ago, someplace over, or near Poland. It's exhausting (pulse type) drew me to it. Next day - less than 8hrs - Google Earth had pulled it...-dm
With my own eyes, in 1996, I saw the flying triangles you hear so much about. They do exist and they did things that I thought were "impossible."
Paul Helyer, former defense minister of Canada, said decades ago that the US military has weapons to fight an extraterrestrial invasion and has discovered a new form of energy. I dunno if the things I saw are the weapons but, there are things around us that we, as every day citizens, cannot explain.
@JamesStreet-tp1vb you are too optimistic
@FranklinFranklin1234
When you see, with your own eyes, the things I saw and when you see what these things can do, optimistic becomes reality.
Interesting that you mentioned Poland. I live here. What did you see if I may ask?
