This fish is the only reason why I start this hobby. I really love clownfish, literally! Clownfish for me is the most beautiful fish. They have a tons of personality. I love the way they swaying in waves with anemone. My most fav breed is the black ocellaris. And I have a pair of normal ocellaris and black ocellaris. They are still young, they will turn 1yr old in Jan 2023. And I will try to live with them as long as possible. Just like other reefers clownfish. They care for their fish for 2 decades. And I'm also die hard fan of pixar movie finding Nemo,Dory😂
why do I never see maroon clown pairs? I have a wild caught pair of maroons and they are so peaceful. have never nipped me, stay with their bubble tip rock and only defend their rock when my tang picks on them. and I love their color and traditional stripes ❤
I second this, I have a pair of maroons. A big gold stripe female and a male lightning maroon. Maroons get a really bad reputation for being extremely aggressive but i have a pair of ocellaris clowns and they are more aggressive than the maroon pair I have.
@@NickHunterHayes I feel like they only get this bad reputation from how difficult they can be to pair. Otherwise I've never seen violence from a maroon other than to another maroon being rejected to pair.
Very nice video, the true percula clowns at the end are my favorite. It would be nice to see a breeding program for your pair, I know it can be alot of work, but F1 percula clowns would be a fun program to have in the United States.
I love clowns, but I love my torch and goni's more. I've heard too many stories of clowns hosting these corals and killing them over time, are you experiencing this with your clowns?
I have a question, I hope you, or one of your watchers can help me. I had green hair algae in my 75gal saltwater aquarium. I have pulled all rocks out. I have scrubbed them clean. I have washed them in water and bleach bath (4water to 1 bleach) soaked them in fresh water/bleach for 8 hours, turning and shaking until no more bubbles released. Rinsed each individually the same turn and shake method with fresh tap water. After rinsing, I left them to dry for 24 hours, then set them all out and washed with my pressure washer. Resoaked in fresh water for another 12 hours and now they are left out to dry. When should they be safe to outback un my tank? Should I soak then in a brine solution? Plain water? If so…how long do I soak before they won’t bea hazard? Thanks.
Hmm, using bleach isn’t something we ever use on live rock personally so we aren’t sure how to guide you. But think about resetting the rock entirely. Getting the chemistry right in the beginning can help prevent an over growth of algae.
I have two clowns in my reef tank that never paired up one is a percula other one I’m not to sure what kind my percula is hosting a rbta what can I do to get them to pair up and host together
So I'm curious about how that clown is hosting in your goni. I've got a pair that are constantly trying to host my goni, but as soon as they start settling into the tentacles the goni gets agitated and closes up tight. Give it an hour or so, the goni starts to extend and the clowns come rubbing themselves on it and BOOM, closes up again, rinse and repeat until lights out. Will the goni ever acclimate or is it a crap shoot?
Ive seen clowns successfully hosting gonis where both are healthy, and ive also seen people have to pick between their clownfish or their goni, the main thing is to keep watching for about a week, if the goni keeps retracting at the touch of the clownfish and the clownfish wont host anything else you might have to remove one or the other, the main thing is to not let your coral stress out too much before deciding to seperare.
Aren't the blk-wht clownfish actually hybrids? -since they're cross of different species? If so, "hybrid vigor" (genetics) could be the cause of aggressiveness.
Good to see you Evan in front of the camera for a change. It is also nice to see the fish featured instead of the coral.
Evans is always so chill. I'm not sure he has ever raised his voice lol Love the video! Keep the content coming.

I have two "Nearly Naked" Clownfish and absolutely love them.

I had a Midnight and a Naked in a 25g cube, I liked the contrast 👍

I bought an orange clown fish at petco..... And within a couple months it turned completely black and white.....all orange turned black
It's not "beta", it's betta(bet-uh). The Onyx percula was my favorite!
