We usually do it in many steps in mining industry. There is no point doing it in one straight shot. But for fakery, sure, you can do it with many centrifuge pump in serie. Less efficient, but no midstation required.

Yeah. To be fair, it is a real waterfall. You can see how the river carved the mountain over the millennia. But the government wants to keep its tourist attractiveness even in the dry seasons. From one side it makes economic sense, and from another it kind of kills the magic of a natural waterfall and reinforce stereotypes. If it wasn't for this "cultural war" and CCP mentality, China could be the most magical country in the world. I remember watching Chinese historical and martial arts movies as a kid and being fascinated by it. It was a natural waterfall during rainy season. But has dried in the summer. The problem is most of the tourist visit this waterfall at summer, and they disapointed.

You can almost see the reasoning behind this, they didn't want to risk people saying bad things about the waterfall if there was no water during their visit, so have made sure there is always water when people visit. This is normal in tons of places not just China lmfao. A lot of attractions are seasonal meaning they’re not year round 24/7 so sometimes you gotta engineer a bit of it so people can still enjoy it off season and get their moneys worth.
