This was a fantastic interview made me smile whole way through. More important though is that these interviews you have been doing are massively important to document the thoughts and facts that in another 20 years will be impossible to know. All of them you have done with both the artists and the builders- very much appreciated.
I just bought this guitar yesterday love it 😍 my fingers are sore today lol ! But I’m still playing it anyway, just put some.09 super slinky’s on it , awesome 😎
Great interview!! I love the "Snake" guitar. Dave's a really cool, laid back guy. So nice to see that he is so humble and down to earth. Rock On and God bless!! 🎸 🤟🎶🎵🎸
Love Dave's comment about the 30-year marriage - "Glad we could help." I've been a Skid Row fan since their debut in 89 and can't wait to hear the rest of the new album. Thanks, Phil, that was great. From one Vixen fan to another. Now I'm off to watch Rachel Bolen on the 80's Metal Recycle Bin channel. 🤘🤘👍👍🤘🤘
Snake Sabo is a great guy. I've always loved that guitar. Might have to get a Kramer like that one. I love it. He's a killer guitarist too and I'm a huge huge Skid row fan. Killer new singer too. I had some Kline guitars. I had a Beretta Space ship themed painted Kline and I had a lions head. They were so heavy from what I remember, but great guitars with Duncan JB and real Floyd's. ♥️🤘♥️ Great video sir. Thanks for sharing man. ♥️🤘♥️
I had a hard time watching this. I made it full screen, and I kept staring at that beautiful SG burst over Phil's right ear! I had a hard time not going off in a daydream! My Grandmother, who came here from Germany, would call that "hens teeth", because they are so hard to find! LOLOL I'm negotiating on a late 70's one now, although its a little beat up. I have a set of pups I've been saving for years for it! It was a great interview!! I heard most of it. LOL He's such a nice guy!! Thanks!! 8) --gary
OMG Phil! There’s so much I can write about what I loved about this video. Thank you both for letting this happen. About The guitar! Something about the headstock that I love so much. Now there’s another reason. Kramer ROCKS! Thanks again to you both 👍🤘
I'll admit, I knew little about Skid Row before watching this interview. I mainly watched cos I'm a serious guitar nerd and wanted to know more about the guitar. I'm certainly glad I did watch it. Dave Sabo comes across as an extremely humble and lovely guy. A pleasure to listen to. Great interview. Thanks Phil & Dave.
I hope you got to really know the first two albums and their latest. The new album is refreshing for us old heads. Can't wait to hear the follow-up with Erik at the helm.
Great interview Phil. Not even a Metal Head and loved this. Might consider putting it on the main channel. Or at least I hope this makes it to everyone’s watch list.
I own one of his signature Kramer's, it's a great guitar, I play it regularly. I saw him play his original when they opened for Aerosmith at Richmond Coliseum, in Richmond, VA.
Beggar's Day was actually a really cool song. I named MY band after it, kind've, "beggar's daughter" ! And after soooo many band names...that one stuck...even 30 years later we still refer to it as beggar's daughter, whenever we catch up.
This is an old one.. It was really good tho, Snake is such an endearing guy (and I'd love one of those Kramer's! I'm.getting a green Charvel this Xmas, so...it was close between that and this, though...I gotta admit) (Skid Row fan from waaay back!)
Just bought this guitar a couple of weeks ago. GTFO! I'm back where I belong in the heyday of rock, heavy, and hair metal. The guitar is top quality and plays and looks sick. Skid Row is one of my all time favorite bands. I saw them several times 1989-1995. The last time I saw them was at Deer Creek in '95 opening for VH. I waved at Dave before the show and he waved back. Loved that. So stoked about this guitar and Skid Row's new album. It's freaking killer. Viva Skid Row, sweet little sisters and brothers.
i wish i could as him about the guitar work he did on kryst the Konqueror which was the band that jerry only and doyle from the misfits formed when glenn danzig left the misfits and started samhain, the Kryst the K album had rising force singer but under a different name because he was under contract with yinvay. such a small niche of info i was a die hard die hard misfits fanatic growing up
Fascinating, right that the gear really has minimal influence on your sound. I realised this years and years back when we used to gig and I used Marshalls and with the 2 or 3 gigs a day, the amps didn't get enough time ot cool down before being thrown in the back of the car, and so I spend a lot of time changing tubes (I became the F1 pit stop in tube changes :D) And at a certain point I was fed up with that shit and studying EE at the time I was like, I'm going solide state! That's robust even more gain and I can mimic the poor amplification characteristics of a tube amp with some germanium diodes in my preamp. The other guitarist was like: "don't do that you fuck up your sounds! This works for us!" And I just changed amps, and literally NO DIFFERENCE audibly. My mate plugs his guitar in and sounded exactly like him. He too went solid state because the amps also were lighter. So when modelling amps started to popup some 15 years ago, I just went for it. And still sound just like me, no improvement :D
It's always such a good feeling to find out that your childhood heroes are actually awesome, wholesome dudes. \m/

What a great humble guy
Skid Row rules. Fantastic interview Phil.

I had a poster of Snake and that guitar up on my bedroom wall back in 89 when I was 12 lol
Always great when Life takes a twist for the better. Another interview you hit out of the Park!
Congratulations to Dave...and

Fantastic interview, great Tuesday afternoon surprise! There’s a Kramer Assault Plus in my future, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Sweet.
How would you stack it against a Charvel San Dimas...?
Great stuff Phil!!!!
This is a fun one!
Skid Row made me want a Cadillac :-)
I know it's been a couple of years but definitely thinking of picking one of these up!
Beggar's Day was actually a really cool song.

Always liked Skid Row
Great interview! Fanboy much? 🤣🤣 It seemed Dave was humbled by it!
