A lot of good points N.N. The easy part is making a game plan, all of us have our own and most plans are/can be profitable. The hardest part is to stay consistent on the parameters of that plan day in and out to create the wealth. From holding for the long term to flipping only specific items that have positive EV for the churn and burn is where the discipline has to be king.

Im bad at taking money from my checking and investing it. But for whatever reason I can manage to keep pokemon sealed and not touch it for years. So i just set up an automatic 8% to my 401k weekly, buy a few pokemon boxes, and I dont have to think about it. Then i do 30 bucks a week automatic to webull for a little fund to buy my kids cars when there 18. Then the disapline of pulling money from ur paychecks is kind of squashed and its just done for you🤷‍♂️

Really depends on your risk tolerance and what you have invested elsewhere. If Pokémon is your only investment then you should go buy an index fund. If you've already got a well diversified portfolio and you want to speculate on what the Pokémon market will look like in 20-30 years then go for it. Always best to take some gains off the table if it makes sense though. Like with Evolving Skies if you bought a case at the lows you could clear basically your entire cost by selling 1 box.

What great about card investing is it’s fun and its an investment. Most investments are boring. But buying cards, grading them and holding sealed product is tons of fun. But having a diverse long term investment is always the best idea. Have some in real estate, have some in stocks (etf or mutual fun safest long term), have some money put away in a high yield savings for emergency. I also invest a small amount weekly in Bitcion. Cards can just be another way to diversify your money. Buy and hold will always be the smartest move. Always do your research on what will do well long term.

1st I'll preface yes I have a 401k just to get that out of the way. But the tax man always comes and we have no idea what the tax rates might be in the future on that money but it is not tax free or any near it. I only put in what my company matches and go to other investment vehicles like pokemon elsewhwere because like I said one it's not tax free and then two it's not liquid in any way if you absolutely need it.

Financial literacy is massively missing in the American population. Most parents don’t teach their kids and they certainly won’t learn it in school. Thanks for educating people Alex!
Also tip from someone in their 30’s. Start young. Even a small investment each month with compound interest can make an enormous difference and the earlier you start the bigger difference it makes. Don’t be like me and wait a long time to start.

Great video today. Flippers will make their quick buck in the short term, then one day realize they had a gold mine when boxes start going for 4x the price of today's value.
Also want to exaggerate the importance of diversification as well. I have 12% pre-tax income going into my 401k, a maxed Roth IRA, and THEN I think about acquiring sealed Pokémon. I'm holding onto my Pokemon stuff until I run out of space or I'm forced to sell.

The point of your video is so true for most everyday Americans who do not understand money and how to build wealth properly. What I always tell people is: "It is not about how much you make, but how much you keep and what you do with it."
Too many people focus on their income and how much they can generate by trading their time for money, but never on how much they keep, save and invest. They view extra income beyond paying for living expenses as "disposable income", so they usually dispose of it by indulging in stuff that doesn't get them ahead financially in life.
IMO, the "keeping up with the Jones" immediate gratification mentality is the greatest wealth killer for most people.
If most would just develop a conservative, well diversified, financial plan and stick to it long term, then they will be surprised how much wealth they will accumulate as time passes.

Alex - video kind of hit me in the feels because I've been feeling guilty lately. What would you advise in this situation? I have been buying Specialty Set ETB's (CZ/151) from an individual I found on Facebook marketplace. He sells them for $25 a piece and typically sells about 4-6 boxes at time. I've made these transaction quite a few times at this point but I'm a little skeptical on the means in which the person is acquiring them. If they were selling 10 at a time out of a case that would be one thing or even 1 at a time that would be understandable. But it seems they have 4-6 boxes every other week for the past 3-4 months. Long story short I suspect these boxes were stolen and now being resold to me. Is that unethical to buy these boxes? Am I reading too much into this and perhaps this is all good? Do I need to ask this person where they are getting these boxes? Lemme know what you think if you can.

I do mostly do churn burn and flip tbh but sealed I always hold long term patience is key in this hobby which for this hobby is like 5yrs hold -10yrs which is honestly very short period for the ROI tbh especially if this is just a hobby and side income if y'all do this full time as a job good luck trying you gotta be in top 10% to be successful in that space even rn card shops aren't doing great and they got more inventory than most of y;all who buy up walmart lol

Evo skies wasn't something I lucked out on I knew it was worth paying retail so I went hard on it everyone else wanted below retail that's why they missed out, that's why so many people missed the boat tbh. It's also the only set I paid retail besides the pokemoncenter etbs which you can only get retail. A bit of advice if you think a set is amazing ignore other peoples opinions for the longest time people kept trying to convince me chilling reign is better than fusion strike and I ignored the noise now look today fusion strike is worth more than chilling reign. While I'm one of the few who went hard on fusion strike they're stuck with a less desirable set.
