So on August 15 I’ll either be getting this in a 98 inch or a 100 inch. They are selling both of them for 10 K each. I’m 90% sure I’m buying the 100 inch instead. I know the 98 inch is brighter and has the gaming option, but it’s the TV that I won’t be gaming on. I don’t know if it’s a mine screw or what, but there’s something about that 100 inches that seems so much bigger than 98 inches. Maybe because it has three numbers. When I think about the 98 inch I only get slightly excited , when I think about the 100 inch , I get very excited. I have heard the Sony rep say that they were never making another 100 inch because it was too massive and hard to deliver. So even he acts like 2 inches is way bigger. But I’m looking forward to watching my Dallas Cowboys win the Super Bowl on it this year. Thank you for your video.

VERY happy with the x90l... no issues with blooming which is awesome I was expecting it to be a little worse than it is. I’ve reviewed the Bravia 7, that’s on my channel and it’s still my daily TV. That distance I’d recommend the 75 if your space can accommodate. The 9 however is out of my price range 😅
Do you know if I would have a problem installing this tv along side with Bose speakers (Acoustimas Series) next to it. Do you think the magnets in those speakers will ruin the tv?

Thank you for your review. Bought one of these from Costco just before Christmas. This is my third Sony tv and it is solid. Love the colors just a great tv. Truly a great buy and tv. 😊
Dark content in a bright room is tough for any tv. There’s certain content like Ozark that I just watch at night. I follow several well known reviewers and most gave the x90l positive reviews. I have a x930e from 5-6 years ago and it’s still a great tv. What I like about Sony is their processing and great colors. I ordered one today(65”)for my living room in my primary home. I moved the x930e to a secondary location. I paid $1,073 from Abt.
I just bought this! I was on the fence and you review really helped. I did the x90cl from Costco. The usb3.0 adapter did not work though 🤷♂️ other than that it’s an awesome tv! I love it so far
The amazon link for that Uni adapter defaults to the "Grey-USB 3.0" adapter. They also have a version that is "Switch compatible" listed there and if the picture is accurate (subtle difference in LED indicator light orientation) that's the one I think he uses. May want to try that one.
I just picked this one up 65" open box was 873.00 after tax. I saw new was 1200 bucks so i figured id give open box a shot if not i can return it up to 60 days or replace it.
How much better than the X90K is it? I have an unopened X90K 65 inch that I got for $1,000. Should I swap it with the L for 400 dollars more? They have the X90L 65 for $1400 right now. Help.
Thank you for the review. Can any of those ports be used as headphone jacks? I've always used wired headphones whilst watching movies and I need them on any new TV I buy.
The CL is only availble in the States right? I am planning on getting this t.v soon from Costco in Canada, I don't think they have the CL version here but they do offer the extended 1 year on top of Sony's 1 year warrenty which is why I am buying it from there and not BestBuy.
@Jacob_Harley the remote is still using IR fie some function, so you still have to point it at the TV. It's also an older style full remote compared to the slick and compact Samsung one. Brightness is not adjusted automatically well enough, I always have to manually increase or reduce it for day/night watching.
So with that adapter you are hard wire connecting your internet to the tv vs. using the tv’s wireless capabilities? Is the regular inner tv wireless /streaming capability bad with home wifi?
I prefer the snappiness of the adapter internet speeds. The apps are really quick at launching content and I don’t want to clog up my WiFi network. By all means the WiFi and wired network connections work fine without it. 👍
Fell in love with Sony tvs back in 2017 when I was first moving out of my parents. The images just seem to have a three dimensional quality to them. Full of detail. I was only making $13 per hour so couldn’t afford the Sony “tax”. I decided to go with a Vizio 55 inch that I have been happy with for 6 years now. I was looking for a tv that had a wide color gamet, a direct backlight, and didn’t really care for streaming apps as every device I have can stream. The Vizio, at the time, was $400 cheaper in the 55 inch. Later this year I would like to upgrade to this TV after it goes on sale or maybe the X93L. It’s strange that Vizio quit making “high-end” tvs.
Parents always had Sony’s growing up. I also couldn’t afford the Sony tax. So I settled for a top of the line P-series 50in Vizio. I’ve had it for 9yrs now. Planning on upgrading to the X90L 75in come Black Friday.

Great informative video. One suggestion….pull your soundbar to the edge of the cabinet. It will cut down on sound reflections and you will notice a clear difference in sound quality.
Just finally convinced my parents to upgrade their Panasonic plasmas, one of which is from 2008, on a X90(C)L set of 65" ($1200) and 75" ($1700) from Costco. Hope they like them! I went away from my own recommendation of an OLED, so I'm hoping I like it for them as well.
Hi, I’m new to the Sony TV universe and I just have a quick question I’m thinking about getting this TV or the mini LED one so I just wanted to know which one do you think is better? Thank you for your help
So, he wasn't clear about the leg stands: first he said it has two positions and then he says you can't use it in a narrow position. So can you use it in a narrowl position or not? What are the two positions that it can be used in? Those legs *seem* iffy for some tabletops. I'm guessing because, "knife wedges"???? Why not flat?!
@@TomasVillegas That I got, but I what wanted to know was *can the legs be set **_farther in_** from the outer bezel* (this what I actually need, as it would be placed atop a 29" case). You seem to imply that the legs can *only* be set at the farthest points, close to the bezel. Also, when you mentioned "two positions" it wasn't clear (to me) whether those positions were for the _width_ or the _height_. I assumed two width positions: outer and inner, close to center. Your reply, though, implies you meant two height positions, not width. Which is unfortunate for my needs, if that is the case. I'm looking at the 55", as the 65" is too big - desired - but too big. Thanks.
Hi Tomas, whats your thought on the viewing angle? The most negative point I have read about this tv in other reviews is always the viewing angle. In our setup the angle could go up to 30-45 degrees and I'm a bit worried that the screen will wash out. Cheers
Hey mate, Thanks for the review. I have listened the audio with earphone. i'm worried that the sound quality wont be as good, how do you find it? enough subwoof for day to day use?
Honestly it’s pretty standard. Nothing to get excited about. I wouldn’t depend on it for anything like movies, if you’re in a smaller room then you may get passable results for day-to-day use.
How is this TV compared to LG QNED 83?? I am considering the Sony X90L vs LG QNED 83 both 55inches. Which one should I buy? Or dump both to go to OLED. Then for budget it looks like LG OLED as Sony is quite expensive. What would you recommend ?

I think you mean A95L right? In that case two different categories. The A95L is an absolute beast and is a gorgeous TV. If you have the budget go that way, I know I would. The X90L is amazing and I love it still.
@@TomasVillegas I meant the A75L that's on sale for $1,499 right now. The A95L is $3,299. Is it worth spending the extra $500 to get an OLED TV in A75L?

Great review! 👍 I see that you had an A80J and your only complaint was that it wasn’t bright enough. I’m considering an A80L and it would be going in my basement with very little light. Do you think I’ll be satisfied with the brightness of an OLED? I watch sports and I’m afraid of dimming. Thx!
It's when you see a glow or halo effect around bright objects in a darker background. Like glowing around white subtitles etc. it can be a little distracting but I'm hearing from a reviewer that's usually critical of Sony say they've improved it quite a bit with the 90L
I saw on this video, that the pictures on every corner of the tv, slightly darker (seems like lack of light) especially on the bright/white color..it's also happened to my sony 55X85L..I asked my local sony authorized dealer, they said it's normal..but in my opinion it's a little bit annoying although the picture quality is amazing..
Having not used the Samsung that's hard for me to answer. I can say I love this TV and if you like Google TV, you'll love it too. It's also perfect for PS5 and gaming is awesome.
That’s a hard question. If the J is still meeting your needs then no reason to upgrade. But if you want the gaming features and can get it for $1200, then it might be worth the upgrade. 👍
@@TomasVillegas Kind of thought the same. The PS5 is hooked right into it and does all the gaming features that I need. But I’d also be going 85” (from a 75”) so $1200 would be a super, duper steal!! Lol. Thanks for your response! Cheers!

It's January of 2025 now. Have you reviewed Bravia 9 ? Interested in that model. Sit about 15 to 20 ft sway in our living room. What size do you recommend? Now our TV is on TV stand not wall mounted. Probably will keep using the tv stand. Thank you for the guidance and help.
I’ve reviewed the Bravia 7, that’s on my channel and it’s still my daily TV.
That distance I’d recommend the 75 if your space can accommodate.
The 9 however is out of my price range 😅
thanks . what's with the double image like effect when gaming in this clip ? its like ghosting !
Hello is x90s the same as x90l just a little bit smaller ?
Do you know if I would have a problem installing this tv along side with Bose speakers (Acoustimas Series) next to it. Do you think the magnets in those speakers will ruin the tv?
Magnets don't have any effect on led TVs.
So i bought the x90l and when i went to system settings the model number was Bravia 4k vh22. Whats up with that? did i get ripped off?
HDTVTEST shows the feet in a closer position. I don’t know how he installled them or why no one else can figure it out seemingly but you can make the feet closer.
There’s only one width placement on this TV. Two height positions. 👍
Uk and Europe often have different feet position settings on Sony tvs inc this one
Would this be any good for live hockey ? Brightness and motion rate? In a darker room. Thank you! Good video
It’s perfect for sports.
What's your point about corner shadow in this model? Can I decrease it?
How would i use ethernet, do i just plug it to my router and it just works? a yes or no reply would be greatly appreciated 👍
Appreciate the honesty. Really helps w my decision in purchasing my first Sony TV
Thanks for watching 👍
Hi , i bought this TV and HT A5000 soundbar but getting some humming/buzzing noise from TV when tv and soundbar is connected with centre stage configuration (3.5 mm jack) even when nothing is playing on TV. Could you please also confirm
If this is same available
Happy New Year. Really enjoyed this unboxing. We just picked up our X90L, however, I'm not able to connect my home internet using the USB port. Can you please give me step-by-step instructions on where you go to on the TV to change from Wi-Fi to the USB? I've already disabled / turned off the WiFi, however, the TV doesn't detect that I'm using the USB to connect to the internet. Please give me and your other viewers a hand. Thank you
Happy new year! Just plugged and played. Everything you see in the video is what I did to get it to connect.
Thanks for watching 👍
Probably an incompatible adapter unfortunately
Thank you for your review. Bought one of these from Costco just before Christmas. This is my third Sony tv and it is solid. Love the colors just a great tv. Truly a great buy and tv. 😊
Thanks for the feedback. Happy new year 🤝
Great video. The most impressive thing in the video is watching him lift a 65 inch TV like it was a feather.
A testament to how lightweight the 65-in is. 🤝
Don't be modest. You are the Hulk
Hello, tell me, will 65 inches by 3 meters be enough? In my country, 75 costs 1.5 times more than 65 :(
How is it compared to the OLED panels out there? Say LG B3?
I just bought this! I was on the fence and you review really helped. I did the x90cl from Costco. The usb3.0 adapter did not work though 🤷♂️ other than that it’s an awesome tv! I love it so far
Thank you for watching 🤝
Weird why your adapter doesn’t work.
costco has changed the the bravia core streamlining to 1 year instead of two years and only 5 movie credits from 15
sorry it s 2 years and 15 movie credits, i was looking at another (less expensive ) model
@@ansaalexit's currently back to 1 and 5
The amazon link for that Uni adapter defaults to the "Grey-USB 3.0" adapter. They also have a version that is "Switch compatible" listed there and if the picture is accurate (subtle difference in LED indicator light orientation) that's the one I think he uses. May want to try that one.
Hello, a question, can you turn the tv on and off with the remote control but without pointing it at the sony X90L tv??
Just point it in the general direction
@@useraph-c4j just like any other tv lmfao
ok, can you turn it on and off through a wall? because I read that someone commented that only the on and off button is infrared.
How do you change tv channels with this remote?there are no numerical keys
Click the channel button up/down.
Which one is better LG c3 or Sony x90l ??
I had several Amazon gift cards saved up which helped quite a bit. Decided to buy the 65" using your link. Thanks for the advice
Always appreciated 🤝
I just picked this one up 65" open box was 873.00 after tax. I saw new was 1200 bucks so i figured id give open box a shot if not i can return it up to 60 days or replace it.
That’s a killer deal 👍
so if you set it up out of the box ands want to change power saver how would you make the change?
How much better than the X90K is it? I have an unopened X90K 65 inch that I got for $1,000. Should I swap it with the L for 400 dollars more? They have the X90L 65 for $1400 right now. Help.
What Ethernet adapter do you use. I’m shocked at the difference in speeds being hardwired
does it has Tidal app build-in ?
Superb review! Learned a lot, think I am going shopping 😊
Good review. I watch 10 hours a week max! My viewing room has no windows whatsoever so this sounds like a good fit and has some value to boot.
Thanks for watching 🤝
Thank you for the review. Can any of those ports be used as headphone jacks? I've always used wired headphones whilst watching movies and I need them on any new TV I buy.
You didn't mention any wifi capabilities. How do the speeds compare to the USB adapter?
He did ;)
The CL is only availble in the States right? I am planning on getting this t.v soon from Costco in Canada, I don't think they have the CL version here but they do offer the extended 1 year on top of Sony's 1 year warrenty which is why I am buying it from there and not BestBuy.
I’m not sure about the Costco in Canada thing 🤷♂️
Picking up the 85" version of this model on Wednesday, cannot wait!
A few minor details are not perfect, but the image quality is great, so very happy to have chosen this model
Just bought the 85" myself... Being delivered on Friday. Would mind u elaborating on the "details" u mentioned? Should I be worried? @@tiloalo
What details are those? @@tiloalo
Thank you for your review! Really appreciated. I also like your garden.
Thanks for watching 🤝
Is there much difference in this and a sony kd55x85lu
may i know which brand TV extender you are using
I have a 75 inch 940d, 2017 model i think. Would this be an upgrade worth going with. Im thinking of the 85 inch. Thanks.
I think it would be. But that’s just my personal opinion. 👍
Hows the blooming when off center? Does it get really bad?
It’s noticeable, but not terrible.
Definitely wait until this sales season, I bet this or the X93L go on a decent sale that will worth picking up.
Parents always had Sony’s growing up. I also couldn’t afford the Sony tax. So I settled for a top of the line P-series 50in Vizio. I’ve had it for 9yrs now.
Planning on upgrading to the X90L 75in come Black Friday.
Think memorial day would be a good time?@TomasVillegas
Hi, do you know if you can turn it on and off using the remote control but without pointing the control at the sony X90L tv?? Because I read somewhere that to turn on and off you have to point the remote control at the TV
@@useraph-c4j Yes and no. My X90L the on off button won’t do anything when remote is near the floor but if you have it level with the bottom edge of the tv but remote pointed opposite direction it will work. The remote does have Bluetooth functionality.
Great informative video. One suggestion….pull your soundbar to the edge of the cabinet. It will cut down on sound reflections and you will notice a clear difference in sound quality.
Thanks for the suggestion 🤝
Just finally convinced my parents to upgrade their Panasonic plasmas, one of which is from 2008, on a X90(C)L set of 65" ($1200) and 75" ($1700) from Costco. Hope they like them! I went away from my own recommendation of an OLED, so I'm hoping I like it for them as well.
This is a great TV they’ll like them.
Du hast auch dunkle Ecken bei helleren Szenarien. Bei mir ebenso
Would you go with the 75” U8k or 75” x90l for watching mostly sports on satellite/cable? Thanks
Sony would be my choice there. 👍
Would you take this tv over the LG qned85 mini led?
I would simply because I prefer Google TV over WebOS.
Hi, I’m new to the Sony TV universe and I just have a quick question I’m thinking about getting this TV or the mini LED one so I just wanted to know which one do you think is better? Thank you for your help
If you have the budget I recommend mini led. 👍
@@TomasVillegas aw thank you so much my fiancé is trying to convince me this tv is better than the mini led because I was going to get a oled Sony tv
I don’t know. I think I was pretty clear saying that it won’t fit on narrow TV stands. Two positions possible. Low and sound bar height.
Thanks.
@@TomasVillegasGREAT video! What is the clearance when the stand is in soundbar height… not sure is mine will fit under the 75 inch x90l. Thank you
Ethernet to USB 3.0 does not work on sony x900f i guess. it did not recognize the connection. may be only on latest models of sony it works
Hi Tomas, whats your thought on the viewing angle? The most negative point I have read about this tv in other reviews is always the viewing angle. In our setup the angle could go up to 30-45 degrees and I'm a bit worried that the screen will wash out. Cheers
It’s not great, but it’s also not terrible. I have some seating that is the same off axis and it’s perfectly passable. 👍
hi great review would you get the A80L over this model and paying a bit more? im trying to decide between those 2?
If you can control the light coming into your room, then yes definitely. The A80L is a great TV.
@@TomasVillegasok thank u. i bought the 90 actually i love it butbut i will be exchanging it for the a80l. already sent in an exchange request. 🙏🏻
Sony wins for me because it’s not webOS. 👍
I’m curious as a A80J owner myself……which of the two sets do you you find yourself drawn to more?
I have the A80J too. OLED is beautiful. And so is this TV. I like them both in different settings.
75" X90L or 65" A80L for OTT streaming to upgrade from 50" LED TV? Priority is picture quality and sound.
can you set it up in both google and apple
Yes you can add it to HomeKit and Google. And use both.
I got the 85 inch for $1999 from Best Buy. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. 🙂👍
Great choice. Thanks for watching.

@@MARK-r6c3k And to turn it on and off?

yes
75" X90L or 65" A80L for OTT streaming to upgrade from 50" LED TV? Priority is picture quality and sound.
OLED would be my choice for your requirements.
Alright. Thanks for your response. Went for the demo today and A80L looked fantastic. Though saw X90L as well in 75" and it looked massive size jump.
How did you get that speed test app on your tv? I just ordered the usb adapter and would like to see what speeds I'm getting.
It's in the app store. Just search speed test.
Excellent and detailed review bro - well done 👏👌!
This TV is on sale for $999 right now. Would you get this or spend the extra begrudgingly for the A75L?
I think you mean A95L right? In that case two different categories. The A95L is an absolute beast and is a gorgeous TV. If you have the budget go that way, I know I would.
The X90L is amazing and I love it still.
@@TomasVillegas I meant the A75L that's on sale for $1,499 right now. The A95L is $3,299. Is it worth spending the extra $500 to get an OLED TV in A75L?
Ah! Depends on your space. OLED really is beautiful. I would choose OLED over this personally. But again, all depends on your space where you’re watching TV.
@@TomasVillegas Thanks so much for the advice.
Do you run the speed test from an app on the TV?
Yes. That’s correct 👍

BRAVIA 7 Better than this % wise ???
I'd say 40-50% better from my experience. 👍
Great review! 👍
I see that you had an A80J and your only complaint was that it wasn’t bright enough. I’m considering an A80L and it would be going in my basement with very little light. Do you think I’ll be satisfied with the brightness of an OLED? I watch sports and I’m afraid of dimming. Thx!
a80l is less bright then c3 so get the c3
What is blooming? Will I be able to plug in an Amazon fire stick on this TV?
It's when you see a glow or halo effect around bright objects in a darker background. Like glowing around white subtitles etc. it can be a little distracting but I'm hearing from a reviewer that's usually critical of Sony say they've improved it quite a bit with the 90L
I saw on this video, that the pictures on every corner of the tv, slightly darker (seems like lack of light) especially on the bright/white color..it's also happened to my sony 55X85L..I asked my local sony authorized dealer, they said it's normal..but in my opinion it's a little bit annoying although the picture quality is amazing..
Is the blooming around subtitles as bad as everyone says it is?
I personally don’t think so, but I try and temper my expectations of the TV. I can see it being bad for people that are overly sensitive to blooming.
Just adjust the settings. Youll get inky blacks like the X85K VA panel
What would you guys recommend. This sony x90l or the Samsung qned 80 ?
Having not used the Samsung that's hard for me to answer. I can say I love this TV and if you like Google TV, you'll love it too. It's also perfect for PS5 and gaming is awesome.
@@TomasVillegas well I’m coming from an lg um7300. So I think either is an upgrade but I heard that the qned is bad in dark scenes.
I have a x90j. Is this worthy of the jump to the newer model?
That’s a hard question. If the J is still meeting your needs then no reason to upgrade. But if you want the gaming features and can get it for $1200, then it might be worth the upgrade. 👍
@@TomasVillegas Kind of thought the same. The PS5 is hooked right into it and does all the gaming features that I need. But I’d also be going 85” (from a 75”) so $1200 would be a super, duper steal!! Lol. Thanks for your response! Cheers!
@@TomasVillegashi, xh9505 vs x90L?
Beside price, what is the difference between the 90L and the 90CL?
It’s The same TV … CL is if you buy it from Costco
Quick question.. do you need the Ethernet USB adaptor if you’re just going to use the Ethernet hooked up to the newest Xbox for streaming?
You need it if your bandwidth is above 100mbits to get the max speed.
If you don't use it, it's max 100mbits (which I'd already faster than most Internet access)
I just got a 65 inch on cyber monday for $999. I watched a UA-cam video but it made me dizzy 😂. I still haven't had a chance to play with the settings though. The only thing is a black ring arpund the tv, is there a way to get rid of that?. Thanks. Nice video
