It should not exceed 10-20% of the husband's salary and should not be granted to those already employed or married to someone or with significant assets both movable or immovable. Implementing such criteria would likely result in a significant reduction in court cases, with many being withdrawn from the woman’s side.

If the children have attained the age of majority, they should go with an educational loan from State Bank of India to finance their higher education. My understanding is that parents would only be responsible for children's welfare provided they are staying together under the same roof, and in separation cases, it is all covered within the maintenance amount awarded to the wife.
Money cannot be demanded from parents, different families have different income levels and have different lifestyle, as long as basic needs are met, the parents are not liable as such.
