Miner, I'm 55 & just spent last 3 yrs on a GSXR 750, loved that bike but not practical for street riding at my age so I sold it & am now on a 1200 Sportster & love it. I just installed 10 inch mini apes & also felt it in my delts first few rides & thought I made a mistake but stuck with them & now really like them the
I had 12" apes, with a forward's bias, on my Harley and I found it so much better for Comfort. Anything a tad bit below boulder height keeps them feeling good.
Quite right Min, I e thing Ice noticed since owning a Harley is that it's quality through & through. I live in Oz from 1980 till 2005 & had to come home cos of family deaths etc, my mate over there everything he had was American, car bike , tools, garden equipment etc, you name it he had it, I used to laugh at him, but he always went on about the quality, I see what he means now. All the best Min 🖒😎
I chose my Dyna because it handled better but after watching your videos if I buy a second it would be like yours or maybe an Evo Fatboy....by the way out of the 36 bikes I've owned the three Harley's I've had have been the most satisfying
todds strip bars are very similar and ive had several sets ranging from 17" to 10". this bike here has the freight train nacelle and riser kit on it. apes is way more comfy than low bars. it forces your spine to be straighter and more upright. the only better riding position is anything with a back rest. USC did extensive studies on the optimum handlebar position for control and concluded that anything between waist and shoulders works the same, with hjigher bars being superior - due to their position relative to your eyes. objective 'i feel' videos are very problematic cos the ergonomics are different for everyone.
Brother, would please tell me where can i buy this bars. I need the model, name and brand? How tall are you? I like your videos keep up the great work. Thanks.
@@stlmoto5129 Yes. I visited the website, and they have really cool apes, but at this moment i can't afford them. They are 300 plus labor and other parts. I could be around 1000 dollars all together. Maybe after the pandemic its over, I could start saving for it. Thanks for the info.
Miner, awesome setup on your Fat Boy. I like your handlebars and am thinking of putting those on my Deluxe. Are those the 12" rise RSD Vintage bars? If so, they look wider sitting on your bike than I thought they would. Reading the specs about the bars I thought they would be too narrow for my Deluxe, but after seeing them on your Fat Boy I'm thinking that I should go ahead and get them.
I Just bought a Fatboy and love these bars. I am also 6'2" and am very interested in the brand name or the company i could purchase from. Any help would be appreciated. Aloha from Maui Hawaii.
@@MinnerQ Yeh Minner Q, I finally found your gloves on Rev Zilla. I'll have to ask the wife for some more allowance. Seems $150 didn't fit this week. Thanks for the come back. I will get some before long. Very cool
What road were you on and what was your starting point. I rode to Julian today and took 79 from the 15. Hot as hell but 79 is always a great ride. Then I took 78 to the 5 home to Huntington Beach. Gotta love how cool the temp was on the coast today. Peace
I took the 56 to the 67 to the 68 to the 69 and then took the 76 on the way back to add on some miles. That is a nice ride. Glad to hear people further north are coming down to enjoy these rides. I make it a point to go up toward LA for a change of pace once in a while. ride safe out there
Hey, got a question for you. I recently purchased 2017 Street Glide and I love it. But lol I recently rode my friends fat Bob and I fell in love with the ride of the suspension. Now people say the suspension on the fat boy S like you have is the same suspension as the fat Bob so I was looking into getting the fat boy S. You think it's a stupid move to go from street glide to a fat boy s , I'm so torn .
The fat bob is part of the dyna family and has external twin shocks with more travel than the fat boy and other softails (2017 and older softails). The street glide and fat bob are both a level up in the amount of damping available. Those older softails (fat boy s included) will be a little more harsh and won't have as good a lean angle as the street glide and fat bob. Still, if you're interested, ride one and see how it stacks up. The 2018 fat boys are a different story.
As someone who worked at Harley I can tell you without hesitation that the Dyna Fat Bob is a great bike. Probably the best handling Dyna (non S) and also the most capable of the family on the freeway. The Street Glide as you well know is a dream on the Hwy but not so much in the twisties. If you can afford two bikes go with the 2017 Fat Bob and not the 2018. Now if you're looking for a bike that is a hell of a lot of fun, give the Low Rider S a test ride. But you better do it quickly because they're selling like hotcakes now that they're discontinued. Peace
A great & pertinent vlog, with reference to your rear suspension check out YSS ,they do a lot with Softail suspension, hopefully you'll be able to find them over your way. What footers did you lose, never noticed them b4. Your bike is looking A1, what do you think of the new Softail range, a lot more kit for only a modest increase in price👍😎
The critics are concerned that Harley's only concern was cost cutting to the detriment of performance. A company of this size doesn't release inferior products after that much R&D. Also, every respectable source I've come by claims the suspension, lean angle, vibes, power are all better. I'm not the biggest fan of the dressing on the new fat boys (too shiny, front is too modern) but all those bits will have aftermarket replacements and some of it will be addressed with future special additions. I look forward to test riding them when it's time for a new bike.

Jim Mansi congrats on the new bike Jim! I figured I wasn't the only one that needed a few rides to adapt to the mini apes.

For this bars 10 inch rise the cables and abs line for the heritage classic (same years) works perfectly
So right brother you need to ride to clear your mind. If your mind is clear you are in better position to do everything better.
I have a Harley rocker now, with the half-apes, kinda similar with back tire and all.
I really enjoyed your softail commentary. New sub.
Thanks Walter

Very concise and intelligent explanations. Also Great looking bike.

Can you tell me the exact name and brand of them bars please 👍🏻
Can you please tell me where you got the handle bars and led lights?. I love them, good vid
I have 16” apes and gone on 300-400 mile runs with not much issues! Besides my bike lowered and feel very bump
Looks sweet!

Where you get your gloves? Bike looks great with the mini apes..
Hey.. what make is this handlebar?
Wowwww looks amazing 👏
I like your vids.!! You are really chill And your hd is really sweet
What size bars are they
Are you going to get one for Christma?
I love the stance of the Fatboy with those apes. I see they are 10" BR open apes, but what width and pullback did you go for?
Hello! Very nice Ride! Love it so much. What is a pullback of the mini apes?
What do u use to record
Dude! Looks killer- Im lookin at a Slim and actually LOVE the stock bars but This looks awesome!
Thanks! I’m a fan of the low rise ape or a flat bar with some higher risers. Have to have a good diameter. If they’re too thin it ruins the aesthetic

carlosgurdian80 so who makes them? What are they called?
Following who makes them whats the website?
May i ask you, do mini apes are more comfortable to ride more than the stock handlebars of fatboy?
I love that look of those bars.planning on adding bars to my moto. Did you have to extend any cables or get a longer hydraulic line?
You need a cable kit
DO YOU KNOW WHAT BRAND OF BARS ARE THAT?
Hey hello, whats APE guidon please ?
Good on you 👍😎

The new softball line rocks! Really dig those bars! .......Ride hard or stay home😎
So how many inches would you consider mini apes ? 14?
10” without the riser. 12.5 with it. Effectively around 12”.
machine performance grips ?
they are Roland Sands brass grips
Good Stuff!!!!
harley has some nine brass products now might look good on your bike
I saw them online but they were out of stock. I would have ordered just to see it in person. that may be a good option
What kind of bars are those? Got a link? They're cool as hell!
Thanks man. BR's custom bars, open apes, 10" rise. brscustombars.com/products/1-12-open-apes-hangers
Minner Q Awesome! Thx
What gloves do you have on my man?
EmilioLV126 thanks bud. Held Rodney gloves. 6 months of use and they're great
bro is that 10 or 12 inch for the bars level ?
10 inch look at 7:38
Yes, bars are 10". Risers are just over 2" - risers are just a small bit higher than stock
Where did you get you apes from? I just bought a 2012 fatboy from a friend.
BR's custom bars.
Minner Q so wth the 10 inch bars and the 2 inch risers is it 12 inch total? And how tall are you?
Very lovely 👍, shame you made the one rookie mistake.
WHAT BRAND ARE THART BARS??? OR WHERE CAN I BUY ONES
Brs customs

What’s the name of the bars
Still no answer on the bars?
@Jenna Talia yeah it seems he's just rubbing it in and doesn't want anyone else making making their bike cool as well 😃
@Jenna Talia thank you very much
They look like 12” Hells Gate Bars and if there not I think the ones I just looked up are way better than I see in this video
Did you need new cables?
You need a cable kit.
Are you a science teacher by chance?
Wtf handlebars are these?
how tall are you
6'2"
Sooo fucking coollll 😀
They will save your back
Just watch out for a bee in the arm pit.
Ha! I'll add some light armor there
I fell asleep watching this guy
