Last year I received chemo and radio for this cancer. Was SCC. The tumour was on outside of oesophagus and not in lumen. A year later my hair has regrown and I’m much better. I had no symptoms at all. Can’t put weight on but who cares at 77 yrs.
May I know the recovery chances
The problem is actually standard of care at community hospitals. You doctors talk about prevention but write everything off as GERD or anxiety and put tests off for weeks to months. EC once manifested grows to stage 4 in a matter of months. The minute someone says they cannot swallow at min. (even in an ER) there should be barium swallow XR or CT scan with contrast. Welcome to the ER...Home of the XRAY and "it's just gastritis" oh yeah and of course anxiety. The issue is not early detection as far as the person getting in, the issue is early detection from the very Doctors that make these youtubes. I hope one day this can be fixed
My best friend just got diagnosed.

I have GERD, irregular z line, but only get difficulty swallowing when I take sumatriptan, which never happened before. I thought it was a new symptom. Could it be cancer?
