I have stage 4 Esophageal cancer. Diagnosed in January 2022. June 2022 the tumor is gone. I completely changed my diet and lifestyle. High dose vitamin C with chemo and immunotherapy. Hoping next scan in Sept are without tumor as well.
How are you going now? May I ask how old you are? I am 54 years old, diagnosed a year ago. I had chemo/radiotherapy, oesophagectomy and now am on immunotherapy once a fortnight. Nivolumab. It has its long list of side effects but that must mean it's working. All the best.
I had all these symptoms, plus a constant gut reaching cough, turns out my diaphragm had split and stomach going up through my hiatus. Now on meds feeling a lot better and no Cancer! Get yourself checked out if you have any throat symptoms!
I'm an oncology nurse and I once had a patient who had indigestion and heartburn for years and never mentioned it to his MD. We treated him for about 3 years with every kind of chemo/immunotherapy but he died from the disease. Really nice guy. Please seek medical attention for these symptoms should they occur. There's no reason not to!
My brother died of this leaving 3 children he was 43 horrible type of cancer this one it’s usually a death sentence anyone that survives this are the ones that get diagnosed very early !
*I know of two people who died a few days apart from Esophagus Cancer* *I feel patients aren't getting the right care from the Specialists, they have and especially I am not* . *I am NOT getting the right guidance; I only want to do what's right* I know about Diet, Exercise. I DON'T DRINK ALCOHOL, SMOKE, Changed my diet and anything else I needed to do.
I have a few of these symptoms; hoarseness, lump in throat and always clearing throat. I made an appointment a few weeks back and finally saw a EN&T 3.31. He performed a laryngoscope although uncomfortable came out good no trace of cancer.
You should look into Silent Reflux otherwise known as LPR. LPR doesn't effect the esophagus but is a form of reflux. symptoms are chronic throat clearing, dry cough, lump in throat. LPR targets the larynx instead of the esophagus and is not related AT ALL to GERD which can cause esophageal cancer. It can however cause cancer of the larynx. Its mostly treated by taking PPI and antacids together and adjusting how and when you eat.
My sweet mum died from this cancer she was given six months to live once diagnosed and died a week before Christmas 2022 my prayers are with anyone battling cancer
Omg this really scares me......I complained about heartburn for 2 yrs straight they would prescribed me different antacids such as pantroprozle and famatodine they all made me fell bloated and full probiotics didn't work either.........My symptoms was feeling full, food stuck in throat (difficulty swallowing), extreme heartburn, could never sleep laying flat even after waiting 4hrs after a meal, just seems like no matter what I ate gave me heartburn, coughing after I ate or drank anything, nausea, vomiting and heart palpations and chest pain really scary........What they found were a hertial hernia, barretts esophagus with low grade dysplasia I had a scope 9/2022......But the first thing he said is barretts esophagusis a precancerous stage of esophageal cancer and it has to be watched so I have another scope 3/2023........I had to share everybody's symptoms are different but this was my experience.......
I'm wishing you all the very best. I was diagnosed about a year ago after I couldn't swallow. My GP, sent me to do one test after another then finally the endoscopy showed cancer. Now I am on immunotherapy to ensure the beast doesn't return.
@@Alpha_7227I am so sorry to hear this......I've read and watch videos that esophageal cancer can be very complicated to treat.......Well wishes......May happy and healing thoughts continue to guide you through......
Omg girl, I was just prescribed pantroprozle & I have all the symptoms that you had except the I don't have the coughing after I eat but in the middle of the night I would wake up coughing & choking on something coming back up my esophagus, sometimes it would be water that I drank like 5 hours before or it would be food that would come up but it would taste like battery acid, really bitter & so disgusting. So yeah everything else I have. I'm waiting to have an Endoscopy procedure done & I'm so scared. I have a hertial hernia too! Thank you for sharing & I hope that you don't have cancer Mz. Kimmy! I will pray for you every night girl!
This took my father out in just over 5-weeks from his originally getting sick and not knowing what was happening to his death on Christmas Eve of 2021. If he had symptoms before he never let on, but that wasn’t like him. He basically starved to death as the cancer aggressively took over most of his vital organs. It was some of the most brutal shit I’ve ever seen.

Hoarseness, hard to swallow solid food and could only drink were a couple of symptoms but the main issue I had before diagnoses of esophageal cancer that I haven't seen mentioned was my ears ached along with sore throat. I couldn't swallow pills so I took Alka Seltzer cold and flu tablets you dissolve in water. I think my inner ears throbbed because my tumor was very high in esophagus by my voice box and my sinuses couldn't drain properly.

My mother is battling esophageal cancer that is in the upper part of her throat. And just like you say, ears and back of her head hurt like hell. She’s only 48 and stage 2 but doctors say it’s inoperable because it’s too high… So after unsuccessful radiotherapy all they can do is chemo now…Did you have a surgery in your case?
Amazing have gerd not responding to nexium, food sticking in throat when i drink water to help it go down everything comes back up post nasal drip, dysphagia throat clearing and all that you have mentioned, burning pain etc off to see my gp again next week
What they don't tell you is that if you have a strong or mild gag reflex this transnasal esophagoscopy procedure is NOT for you! Trust me I know, I watched my 74 year old Grandmother go through this procedure was horrific! She was gagging the entire time, struggling to breathe & her face turned so red! I was screaming out to this idiot who was doing the procedure, I'm begging you please STOP doing this to my Grandmother, she can't breathe! Remember something very important people, not ALL Doctors are good Doctors ok? The only reason he stopped was because a Nurse came running in to see what the screaming was about & said to the Doctor, the patient is NOT tolerating the procedure & it would be a better idea if you sedate her. WOW! I couldn't believe the Doctor actually listened to her & NOT me! Needless to say, my Grandmother refused to have the Endoscopy done by this Doctor & requested that another Doctor perform the procedure. A brand new Doctor did the Endoscopy the very next day, sedated my Grandmother & everything went fine. Please people, don't be forced or talked into a procedure that you're not comfortable with. If you gag easily, the transnasal esophagoscopy is NOT for you & request that you have light sedation or full sedation depending on your own personal needs.
It’s basically from smoking 🚬 obesity, poor diet, and reflux. Heartburn is the initial start of problem. I developed this situation about 4 months ago. It’s gotten better. No more spicy food for me. It’s awful…I believe coffee, soda, chocolate and foods that are hard to swallow are the initial cause of this situation. We have no idea what is in our food these days. Be sure to exercise, eat fruits and vegetables daily and stay away from foods that can cause gerd, reflux or heartburn

I have non erosive esophagitis. I have to eat regularly, no coffee, keep stress levels down etc I also have sinus drip due to year round allergies. My whole family has drip etc. it’s worse with dairy and gluten
For anyone diagnosed with this horrific disease and undergoing immunotherapy. Have the Akkermansia bacteria in your body checked! If you are deficient, the immuno drugs will stop working. Supplementing will lead to immunotherapy working again. My father passed to this heartbreaking disease. I feel the radiation treatment caused his death. Immunotherapy stopped working, therefore leading to radiation as the next step. At the time I was unaware of Akkermansia being a key factor in successful immunotherapy outcomes. From what I have witnessed, diet and lifestyle are key to survival as well. Praying for a cure for all cancer!

I recently told her at times my throat is a little horse sounding and when I swallow I feel something move on the upper right side of my throat.
