4 and a half years late to the show, but, thanks for this video. I just replaced the rear speakers in my old beater using this video and the product links you proivded. Good work!
Thank you for the great comment, and support to the channel. Much appreciated my friend
Replaced my front speakers today. Thank you for this. I bought the recommended tools and made the whole process so much easier.
Thank you soo much for the comment, and thanks for supporting the channel. I do appreciate it :)
Many thanks for this how-to video; after blowing my 2006 Civic’s driver’s side speakers, I swapped out the dead speakers for a 2nd. hand set that cost $50 for 4. My local car audio shop quoted me $668 for 2 new ones plus installation! Now I have 4 speaker surround for LOUD FUCKING MUSIC WHILE DRIVING!!!
That is awesome !!!!! Love it !!! Thanks so much for the comment, and sorry for the late reply. I'm on vacation so I'm just checking messages sporadically. Excellent that you were able to save some cash !! Thanks :)
Love how you didn’t disconnect the door handle cables like other vids. Much simpler your way. Nice video!
Thanks a bunch!!! I do appreciate the comment. Thanks again and hope you are enjoying your weekend :)
Awesome!! Thank you so much for the links. I've been searching for speaker adapters on Amazon but I had never come across these particular units. They seem legit!
Thanks soo much, appreciate the positive feedback and glad I was able to help :)
Just put new speakers in my 07 civic as I bought it used and the fronts were blown. Saved me 100s of dollars. Thanks so much!
Thank you for the great comment !!! Happy Saturday to you :)
Best video I've seen on replacing these speakers! Thanks for the detailed instruction
Thanks soo much for the wonderful comment!!!! It is comments like these that keep me going!!!! Thank you my friend!!!
You made this look so easy! Whenever I've done speakers on my cars there's always something that gets in the way or doesn't go how I planned hahaha. Great video brotha
Thank you, and much appreciated. The speakers were a good upgrade as a few of the factory ones actually burnt out, so it was a necessary job. Thanks bro !!!
Thank you for this video! It allowed me to replace my own broken speaker and save a lot of money on repairs. Plus it made me feel empowered to do my own work on my car!
Thank you for the great comment and glad I was part of the process !!!
Excellent video!! So clearly explained, and all the relevant stuff captured in the video. Thanks for making this!
Thanks so much for the comment !!! I do appreciate it :) Happy Saturday to you !!
Your technique enabled me to access the door checker with ease and change it out! Many thanks!
Thanks for the comment and glad I could help out !!!
My speakers and mounts didn't fit but I still shoved them in! Thanks for the vid!
Thanks for the comment, You really have to push those mounts in to make them fit, they can be tight!!! I'm glad you got it all buttoned up :) Definitely an upgrade from the factory!!
Yoo thank you so much! Explained everything very well, made it look easy. You are appreciated
Thanks soo much brother!!! I do appreciate the comment, and love getting comments like this, they keep me going!!!!!! Thanks again and have a great day :)
You crushed it dude, thank you for making this, I am about to order with your links
Thank you soo much!! I do appreciate you using the link as it helps the channel. I put everything and more back into the channel so thank you for that !!!
Well done, very nice. I dont' have a Civic, I have a 2011 Fit, but your instructions for the most part are the same (at least for doors since the Fit doesn't have the rear deck).
Thanks for the comment!!! Glad you enjoyed the video and shared that the Fit is very similar. Good to know :) Thanks :)
Came here from a Door Checker replacement video where they tore away the vapor barrier to gain access, comment section recommended access via the speaker hole.
Your disassembly video was better and the speaker access was a far easier job 😂
My door no longer swings freely 😀
That is awesome and thanks for the comment, much appreciated !!
Thanks man ur video really helped me a lot. Really appreciate the links in the description u made my life so easy love you man
Thanks for the great comment and glad I could help out, that’s what it’s all about :) Saw your avatar of the Toronto Maple Leafs, let’s hope they do great this year. I’m from Canada so a big Leafs fan :)

Subscribed my guy ! B/c you showed how to actually re assemble the door, something small but it’s the thought lol
I appreciate it very much!!!!! Thanks!!!
Awesome video, Thank you so much. Ill save the video for when i upgrade my speakers. For now i'm having issues with an after market stereo i bought. I believe I have a short, grounded or whatever you call it (power issue) that messed up my OEM stereo and is now giving me problems with my aftermarket touchscreen stereo.
Thanks so much for the great comment. I know all about electrical gremlins. Hope you get it all sorted out :)
Great to see this vids growth!

Very informative, thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you for the great comment!!! I do appreciate it, and I hope you had a great weekend :)
Thank you so much, I thought it was way to harde to do it myselft. Also Thank you so much for the link and the extra links. You are a good person.
Thanks so much for the comment, much much appreciated :) The job isn't too bad if you take your time. I do notice on these Civics that the speakers burning out seems to be a common problem. Have a great weekend :)
@@GarageKing yes that is true, my girlfriend bought a 2007 civic and it was cheap to buy because it had things that do not worked including the 4 speakers. Again thanks for the links, I thought it was going to be more expensive to repair it.

Straight to the point. Thank you sir.
Thank you !!
You save me hundreds of dollars. My wife's car speakers was blown, she wanted to take the car to the audio shop because I don't have time to install the speakers that I bought her. I work a full time job and a part time job, so hardly any days off. I showed her this video, and she installed the speakers herself following your video's steps. Takes her 3 hours but she got it. I was enjoying my time off today, while drinking a beer, and watching her. Lol. Thank you!
@@unluckyone7531 Thank you for the reply and she sounds like quite the woman who can get things done, you are a lucky man !!!

Super helpful, thanks!
Thank you for the great comment !!!
Rocking this how-to video in 2024!! Great video! Do you still have your Civic??
Yes I do!!! Still running great. I did a few other maintenance vids on it, it had an oil leak and needed an AC recharge plus I put a navigation system in it. The mileage keeps piling up, but there is still love for the 8th gen civic !!!
This is a PERFECT video, I will use for swapping mine out. I haven’t yet decided if I’m going to retain the OEM “premium” dash unit, kind of an important decision before choosing door speakers. I guess I’d like to hear just how much better a simple swap of speakers sounds with the stock radio, 30% better? Or is it like night and day. With a head unit replacement, it’s night and day. Might be worth the trouble (for me). Can’t decide though, so SO much easier to just swap these out with speakers that are known to do well with the factory unit in terms of power output/frequency range etc. Thoughts?
Hey Brother, thanks for the comment. I do appreciate it, and try my best!!! Regarding the speakers there was quite a noticeable difference. Especially in the clarity. I did think of what you're thinking, and was torn. I had even though of a sub and separate amp....... I thought to myself I would do the speakers first and if I was not happy, then I would do the head unit, and then the sub last if needed. That's why its important to get decent speakers to replace the factory ones. IF you get the cheapest ones you can find, then changing the head unit isn't going to do a whole lot anyway. For me the sound difference was quite a bit. I would say they sounded about 80% better than the factory speakers, and most noticeably they were A LOT clearer with cleaner high frequencies. I was surprised as how well the factory head unit worked, so after I swapped the speakers I was happy with the sound quality and stayed with that.
Now everyone is different so you may not be happy, but I would maybe consider doing a step at a time to see if just the speakers meet your needs. A sub would be another level, as its something the door and rear speakers can't compete with, but after I changed out the speakers, I just found I wasn't really longing for a sub anymore. Hope I answered your question and if you need anything else by all means let me know. Thanks and Happy Sunday :)
i just ordered them wish me luck :D
Thank you !!! If you have any questions please reach out and good luck with the job :)
Thank you so much for this video

See you had fun with those effects haha
I did hahaha, I’m glad you enjoyed them. I put pictures and videos as effects in all my vids. Kind of my signature and glad you appreciated them. They are a lot of work. Thanks brother!!!!
Nice job 👍
Thank you good Sir !!!
Hey, great video. Does the speaker rattle as the factory one has a foam material between the bracket and the door but the new brackets do not have that?
Hey buddy, great question and the answer is NO. I was worried about that as well, but with the brackets I bought its all good brother!!!!
Hello, do you how the factory tweeter is routed? I ordered component speakers, and I'm trying to figure out how to wire the tweeter in the factory location.
Hey brother thanks for the comment. I think you are talking about the ones that are in the front windshield area. I never removed those ones. I think you can remove them by popping off the cover (with a plastic tool) and then remove the speaker. The wires should be there, and you can unclip the wires them like the door speakers. To hook up to your new speakers you could probably get an adaptor, or cut into the wires.
One word" perfect!"
Thanks so much brother !!!!
Good video
Thanks brother !!! I do appreciate the comment :)
Really big thanks to u sir
Thank you for the vote of approval !!!
First time installing car speakers, and through numerous videos I was able to figure out how to get to the front door speaker. But was met with a hurdle. No one talks about the speaker bracket or wiring adapter. I didn't even know what that part was to order, that is until I found your video. Though my car is a 95 you provided the information, and links to finish the install. I didn't know that the rear needed brackets, the other speakers (not factory) didn't have any so I just installed it the same way. It will be nice to get the rears to fit better, and then do the front speakers. If it is a success you helped me save $100 for installation. I ordered the JVC speakers through your link, and if they work out well then I can return the Kickers that were double the price. Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you for the great comment and glad I was able to help, I appreciate the time you took to write you message. Thank you !!
That was one best video I ever seen thanks a lot man I do have one question if you can teach as how to install tint for cars
Hey thanks for the comment !! I’ll definitely see if I can do that. In the meantime I do have some paint protection film videos up (which is similar) I used Xpel.
What size self tapping screws did you use for the rear left and R speakers? You used 1 longer factory bolt plus 2 self tapping screws in each speaker ring installation. Thanks for the excellent video.
Hey Thanks for the comment :) for the screws I remember using General Motors trim screws that go into plastic. They self tap into plastic, but they are really just black painted wood screws. They look like this amzn.to/3dkcMsq but don't buy as thats like a pack of 100. I think the ones I used were equivalent to #8 wood screws. Its probably best if you order the brackets and then just take one of the brackets to home depot and find a wood screw that is snug and will self tap in the bracket. The instructions say you don't need them, but I figured the speaker was really going to rattle without them, and I have no rattles in the car with the speakers turned up. You may even have a screw at home. The screw just has to be snug enough to stop the speaker from rattling. Hope I helped you out, and thanks for watching so closely !!!
I got 6.5-6.75 scosche speakers. With the speaker adapter shells work for those?
Hey buddy, I think they should. I heard that MTX speakers do not work, but I have not heard anything about the scosche, so I think they should. Can't be %100 sure until you try but I think you should be OK :) Hopefully I helped you out and if you need anything else please let me know :)
Hi there, what did you do with the factory tweeters in the dashboard? Did you disconnect them or are they still playing?
Thanks for the comment brother. I'm not sure if this vehicle had the front tweeters in the dash. Not all civics have them. They all have the grill, but sometimes there is no speaker in there, the grill is just there as its cheaper to make all the cars the same. I never had any music coming out of them so either I don't have them, or they are burnt out. If you have them you can just leave them connected if they are still working. My car sounds great with the new speakers in the door and rear so I just left it at that.
Hi bro, I have a civic 2010 sedan, I was wondering if does it worth to replace the speakers (maybe JBL) without installing a amplifier or a subwoofer? Can I get a good sound improvement? (sorry for my bad english)
Hey Brother, any speaker purchase is really quite an improvement. The factory speakers are not good quality at all. You can see in my video the size of the magnets, and they are just cheap, that's why most fail. If you do replace them, I would replace with a two-way speaker. This way you get much better treble. On my car I didn't install an amp or anything, I just replaced the door and rear speakers and the new ones sound very good!!!! I think it does make a pretty good difference. Make sure if you buy new speakers, even if you don't buy from amazon, at least get those adaptors to mount in the door and rear deck area. You need those. I will provide a general amazon link for canada and the US and you can click it, then shop around for whatever you want, and I will get a small commission. Its not much but it helps support the channel. If you are from another county you can let me know and I can supply you with a general link. If you already are going to buy from somewhere else then no worries at all, I will still help you any way I can. I do think replacing the speakers makes a difference. Thanks for the comment, and be safe out there!!!

Great detailed video. How snug were you able to get the speakers? Have you tested it for or had any rattle?
Hey brother, thanks for the comment. I was able to get it fairly snug, but looking back I would put some weather stripping (thin foam with the one sided backing - you peel the one side off) on the door so when you screw the plastic adaptor it would be better insulated. I'm lucky that I have no rattles so mine are ok, but I have heard from a few viewers that they had the odd rattle and some one sided foam tape helped. The door is not perfectly flat, as its molded to a certain shape, so you can't get that plastic thing to seat perfectly. When you screw it down don't put the crews in too tight as the steel they screw into is pretty thin and you can strip it pretty easily. Thanks for the comment and enjoy your weekend :)
I haven't purchased the Honda adapter. Any ideas on which wire is positive wave which is negative ( front speakers)
Hey good question, and to be honest I'm not sure. The adaptors take care of that. What I should have done was used the adaptors and then followed the positive from the new speaker to the factory wiring and then we would know. Sorry about that.
When you "clipped" the wires to the speaker did you have to do any saudering action or did you have one of those clamping connectors to make stuff easier? Unless it comes in the manual for the speaker installment already
From 8:14
no soldering required at all if you get the wiring harness adapters. amzn.to/2ZZdbGA If you don't get the wiring harness adaptors then you have to solder and look at the wiring diagram to ensure you get the + to the + of the speaker and the - to the - of the speaker. The trim is tight but you can get it off. I now use this, its the one and only you will ever need amzn.to/3CPg8dX
Tnx dude!👍
Thanks for the comment :)
Im trying this on my european civic. I removed the door panel sucesfully all i have to do is assemble it back. Ive 3d printed a custom speaker holder i hope it works well
That is soo cool. I do wish I had a 3D printer !!! If you can make it work go for it for sure !!!! Let me know how it works out. Thanks for the comment brother !!!
Hey man!! So I have a Honda civic 2009 and I’m a huge music guy and I like it loud and bass worthy, do u have any recommendations for speakers to put in?
These ones are play fairly loud, and they are on sale for like 30 bucks a pair amzn.to/3WAXsw6 They work well with the factory stereo. Now If you are using the factory head unit without an amp, and you want the loudest speaker, look at the sensitivity rating. The ones in the link are 92db. That means the speaker will produce a SPL or sound pressure level of 92 decibels with 1 watt at 1 meter. This is how they are normally measured. If you can find speakers with a sensitivity rating of higher than 92db they will play louder.
I have a 2009 CSX Type S, need to replace the rear deck speakers as one is blown/buzzes on BIG BASS ... this looks the same through the rear.
However a friend/mechanic says that the rear housing you can see at 11:36 where the cable is plugged into should be kept b/c it adds to the speakers' punch, like a housing for a sub, and I will lose speaker intensity if I do not replace it with the new speaker.... thoughts?
and thanks for this, I bought the tools, cables, and housing :)
Hey There, If I'm looking correctly the rear housing IS PART OF the factory speakers. New aftermarket speakers do not have that housing, and that is why you need to buy new housings and bolt the new speakers to the housing, and the housing clips into the car and is secured with one bolt. I'm thinking you purchased these housings? amzn.to/3xawn8W they are the same for the front and rear. You need them for the speakers to seat properly. If you want to go up one level to PRO you can buy foam amzn.to/4bLjMbf and put on the rear of the housing/bracket to prevent any rattles.
Hello! I was wondering if the speaker wire adapter clips came with the speakers or did you buy them separately?
Hey buddy, I had to buy them separately. Wish they came with the speakers!!! I bought the Metra 72-7800 Honda and Acura Speaker Adapter Harness Connector. The link from amazon is www.amazon.ca/dp/B0002BEPJY/ref=as_li_ss_tl?&linkCode=sl1&tag=garageking-20&linkId=46f1919c046637b4f69216106a3f993c
If you need anything else just let me know :) Thanks!!!
No you have to buy them separate possibly online
the tweeters in my Honda civic don't work and I'm trying to find the wires from the amp to them. Are the tweeters connected to a separate fuse?
Hi There, as far as I know if you have tweeters, the wires should be running to the head unit in the dash. I think the civics that have the amp, that amp in the rear is only used to drive the factory sub (on the models equipped with it) No fuse for the tweeter wires as far as I know.
Amazing to see how many ppl are viewing your channel GK!
Thanks soo much!!!! I wish I had a bigger fan base, but that's ok. I think the reason I get quite a few visitors is I rank in search, so when you are searching for different repairs I come up, so that's great :)
@@GarageKing Your fan base will surely grow! I believe that! Keep it up
@@premiertoca Thanks !!!
One thing to add is you’re gonna want to add foam tape to the bottom of the bracket because it doesn’t fit in flush. And you’ll get rattling if not
Excellent suggestion and you are right. Those brackets don’t fit flush. There is a gap. Good call :)
My 2006 Civic has little tweeters on the front dashboard in the corners. Did you replace those in another video?
Hey thanks for the comment. Unfortunately I don't have a video on the front speakers for this car. Sorry about that
What is the maxi diameter speaker size can use with the speaker grill?
Hey buddy, thanks for the comment. I used 6.5" speakers, but I think someone said they used 6.75" and it worked out ok. I know when I put the speakers in there was some wiggle room so I'm pretty sure 6.75" would work, but I wouldn't go any bigger that that.
This is why I love hondas, secret Hidden bolts, mad engineering and interchangeable parts, I was thinking of upgrading my 01 model cos my 02 civic sounds better.. other then silver Handles on the door lmao 😆 I want a 8th gen like this
The 7th gen is a pretty sweet ride as well. I like the dash on the 8th gen, but as you know the stereo speakers sure needed an upgrade !!! Thanks for the comment brother :)
8th gens are the best. Very fun with great handling. If anything happens to my 06 im going to buy another 8th gen. And if anything happens to that one, another 8th gen
You bet, the 8th gen is iconic !! I love everything about the car!!!
Would 2006 civic OEM speakers fit on a 2009 civic being that they are 8th Gen?
I believe they should as long as it is sedan to sedan speakers, or coupe to coupe speakers, I know the coups and sedans have different trim panels so I’m not sure if the sedan can interchange with the coupe. There is also the possibility that they fit no matter what, but I know the doors differ on the coupe/sedan so that would be my only concern.
Buen día, excelente video de cuentas pulgadas son los speakers delanteros y de cuánto son los traseros
Gracias por el gran comentario. Fácil de trabajar en el coche ya que los altavoces delanteros y traseros son los mismos :)

Hello, I need a replacement piece for the doorlock clip at 10:36. What is this piece called?
Hey there, it’s just a body push clip. The problem is that is not a common interior body push clip so I don’t think you will find it on Amazon. I did just look and they have lots of body clips but the are the common fender and rear door panel to body clips. I think for this one you will probably have to visit Honda and have them look it up. It can’t be expensive and you only need the one. Thanks for the comment :)
Could you please link we’re you got the door speakers rings so they will fit
Hey there I’m responding from my phone. I don’t have my computer with me and my phone won’t copy the links. The links are below the video so if you can open the video and click to see more everything is there. If you have any problems please let me know and I’ll provide you the links later today. Many thanks !!!!!
Just got home, if you have not had a chance yet, speaker brackets are amzn.to/2ANLkQZ and connectors if you need them are amzn.to/31N8PoD If you need a trim removal tool there is no better one than this amzn.to/3cGs9Id
Do you have a supplier from whom you can purchase the entire speaker and assembly package? thank you
Hi sorry I don't. I find the adaptors and wires are cheapest on Amazon, and for speakers many people want different things. Here are the links for the adaptors and wires amzn.to/3wX6IzY amzn.to/49RIsxR and if you don't want to spend much on speakers here is an affordable shallow mount pair amzn.to/49RIIwP
What was the name & part no. for the speaker adapter? I have a 07 coupe and one speaker on driver side won’t play when it’s cold ..but works fine after the inside car get warm .. I seen other videos where they must of dis something wrong or wrong part because the speakers tweeter stuck out too far..An ended up having cut plastic off door panel inside... great video...very helpful..any information would be greatly appreciated ....thank you.
Hey Thanks for the comment, the speaker adaptors are Amazon.ca amzn.to/2YT2KVL and the wiring adaptors are amzn.to/31N8PoD For Amazon.com its amzn.to/2ANLkQZ and amzn.to/2ANLkQZ For this car you have to get shallow speakers as on some you are right, the tweeter sticks out too much. Just as a test when the car is warm and the speaker is playing open and close the door all the way and see what happens. I have seen where the wire right in the door jamb has a short.
Bought the same speakers and same everything but the fitment was not good and i went to test the front driver side speaker after i replaced it still didnt work im thinking it might be a much major issue but i will take everything apart and re try it again once i have more time
Oh crap, ya it could be a bigger problem. If you used the wiring connectors and its not working then there could be a short in the wire. If so the short is usually located where the door opens and closes as this is where the wire is always bending when you open and close the door. Most likely your stereo head is good and its a short in the door. Also silly question but make sure your fader and balance are centered.
i just installed these and secured them as tight as i can but i’m hearing rattling since there’s no foam between the harness and the metal of the car, is there anything i can do to fix this? love the video, it’s a lot of help!
Hey there, yup its fixable, what you can do is use single sided foam tape and put between the speaker bracket and the door. This should take care of it. On some cars they rattle, and on others they don't. When you use the tape you just have to cut it into small pieces (like one inch) and then stick them to the door so when you screw the plastic adaptor on it presses against the tape. There is a link at the end of my reply so you know what I mean, you can probably buy local, but this is just so you know what I'm talking about. Pretty much any one sided foam tape should work, as long as its not too thick. If you need anything else just let me know!!! amzn.to/2LeM1aV
@@GarageKing that was our plan but we couldn’t get tape locally so we just got packing foam squares and we’re able to just screw in the speakers over that. thanks for the quick reply!
@@oliviadanz1296 Ha ha!! Very creative and as long as it works its all good!!!
Hey, this video is great and all but I own a type r gt version of the civic aso the door panels are a bit different. Have you done a video on the type r versions? Please post link and I'll be more than happy to to watch it instead of paying halfords 200 quid to do it instead. Thanks in advance. 👍
Thanks for the positive comment, ok don’t have a vid on the type R (nice car by the way) but the process should be very similar as it’s still a Honda Civic so the mounting should be very similar. There is usually a screw at the latch that opens the door, and one or two at the armrest. The plastic fasteners that hold the door panel to the door should be the same. I wish I had a type R vid as I would like to work on that car. I got a Lexus the other day but I know that’s not going to help you. So it’s up to you if you want to tackle it, and if you were in Canada I would say come on by and I would do it and film it for the channel :)
Hey. What's the part numbers for the wire connectors and the speaker rings
Hey There, sorry for the late reply, just seeing this now. Speaker Brackets: amzn.to/2ANLkQZ Wire connectors Wiring Adaptors: amzn.to/2ZZdbGA
That sound when you pulled the speaker connector off, was that from House of the Dead?
Ha Ha !!! Love the comment, that was actually a dinosaur sound in the Final Cut Pro library. Its the software I use for editing :)
I have a honda civic ex coupe....would everything work for my car???
Yes it should, as long as its an 8th generation. Also for the coupe, the rear speakers are a little different to come out from what I have heard. Never did one, but I hear they come out a little differently. Same speakers.
I would guess that this is the same for the 2011 honda insight correct?
Hey brother thanks for the comment, I think they should be very similar. Someone commented that their Honda Fit was pretty much the same. I would think the Insight is even more similar. I was doing some research and I think the adaptors I used should fit. While I can't confirm 100%, I believe they should. If you do order them, can you please let me know if they fit so I can help others. They should as the insight has the same size 6.5" speakers.
do u have an amplifier installed or just aftermarket speaker and if theres no amplifier, howe the aftermarket speakers sound like is it clear?
Hey There, no aftermarket amplifier is installed. I used these amzn.to/3EpRNya wiring connectors (very cheap and easy) to connect to the factory wiring. It sounds clear, and the volume is good. It doesn't boom (as there is no sub in the car) but its more than adequate. If you buy the cable adaptor to run an aux cord ua-cam.com/video/VnShhW8eF0c/v-deo.html then some of the cords have not been the best quality, and an exchange generally fixes the problem. Hope I answered your question :)
@@GarageKing thank u very much

Do you need to change put for a new battery or those are just fine with the same battery
Hey brother, thanks for the comment :) No need to change any batteries :)
I want to change mine but i never ever did open somthing in my car or change I have no experience at all Do you advise me to do that?
I don't think this is a particularly hard job to do. The good thing is there is not a lot you can screw up. Doing engine repairs etc. there is a lot to go on, but for this not too much, just take your time. I can't advise you to do anything, its up to you whether you feel comfortable doing it.
I haven’t seen anyone do this but the gray clip from the factory wiring coming out of the Hondas already has the wire connections…you can just remove the gray clip… leaving metal connectors for new speakers.
I was not aware of that!!! Thanks for sharing brother :)
did you lose all the bass after switching to these speakers? some reason oem cheap speakers hve much better bass
The OEM speakers sounded a bit louder as they had a higher sensitivity rating, but the replacements were still good. bass was good. Make sure when you hook them up you use the positive to positive on both speakers (they must be the same) if you get one mixed up they will be out of phase and you will loose your low end.
Is all the speaker brackets and wiring harness the same for the front and back?
Yup they are all the same :)
Whats the name of the wire you plug in?whats the name of adaptor bro thank you
Here you go, sorry for the late reply, busy day my friend !! amzn.to/2ZZdbGA
Can you use the same speakers for front and rear or did you use different speakers? I want to do this but not sure which speakers to buy that are really good but not expensive
Yup you can use the same for the front and rear. The speakers I found are actually very good and they are not that expensive. The link is in the video description.
@@GarageKing hey I just replaced it, and changed out the speakers for a little bit better ones. and thank you so much for this video man, it sounds so much better!
@@notkryptxc Awesome !! Very glad I could help :)
So do you have to buy two separate pairs ,one box for the front and one for the back ? There’s no way to find them all together ?
That is correct, you have to buy two boxes. Speakers are sold in pairs, so 2 per box. I'm not sure why you can't buy 4 in a box. My guess would be its just not that common. Most people buy two front, or two rear. The Honda Civic is the exception, as most people replace all four speakers.
What size were the extra screws you used? Thanks for the video! Very helpful!
Hey there and thanks for the comment. The speakers that I bought came with an assortment of some screws so I used those. The screws are self tapping so they are the pointed ones and you don’t have to be exact on the size. Find one that is just snug. It’s not like machine threads where you can cross thread and strip bolts. As for the exact size, I’m not sure. I just had those extra ones. Sorry I couldn’t help you more buddy.
Can’t find any videos for the coupe 06 the rear speakers are different than the rest for some reason
Hey there, ya the coupe is a little different, it's a bit harder. The rear deck is different. If I had someone with a coupe I would gladly do a video, but the problem is you have a rare car !!! I don't see too many coupes around.
@@GarageKing thanks for the reply it was actually pretty easy taking it off and installing new speakers did it my self fortunately. the whole panel is one piece thanks anyways !
@@joshinola2628 Thanks, and hope yo are enjoying your weekend :)
Do I need one or two pairs of the harness adapters?
You need one pair for the front and one pair for the rear. So if you are doing all 4 speakers then you need 2 pairs. Let me know if you need anything else!!!! Thanks buddy
Could i hook up speakers without those shells or wires adapters?
You could hook them up without the wire adaptors, but you would have to cut the factory wire harness and use "butt" connectors to connect the wires to the speakers. You do need the shells though, as there would be no way to mount the speaker to the door. You might be able to fabricate something, but you would be drilling into the door and the speaker might sit too deep and rattle.
If you want to save money, cut your factory wires and use cheap connectors, but get the shells.
