In this video, we take you behind the scenes of a ballet photoshoot featuring the incredibly talented ballerina, Gabby! At just 15 years old, she's already making waves in the dance world, and we're excited to help her reach her goal of 2,000 Instagram followers so she can land a brand deal. Make sure to check out her Instagram and show her some love!
We'll be capturing a mix of natural light and studio shots, with plenty of inspiration to guide us and the flash photography vs natural light with the canon r6ii or canon eos r6 mark ii. Follow along as we experiment with different poses and angles, and see if we can keep up with the pros who shoot ballet for a living. Canon EOS R6 Mark II and Profoto A2 is a great combo for flash photography and natural light portraits.
We also talk about the importance of using the right memory cards for high-quality video, specifically the Lexar Professional SD cards. With fast read and write speeds, these cards are perfect for 4K and 8K video, and we love using them with our Canon R5 and R6 Mark II cameras.

R6 Mark II is the best hybrid in its class and accomplished dancers always make the best models.
Agreed and agreed!
Awesome work. Really love the gel silhouettes. They were fantastic
Thanks so much 😊
Beautiful images. There were many years of dance class before our daughter worked as a professional ballet dancer, and photographing her and friends was a pleasure because of how they move. Learning the many dance terms made it much easier to get the shots that paid off.
Knowing the lingo helps for sure!!
Simply watching you transform these scenes into epic photographs is simply amazing. I live your vision and creativity 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much 😀
Loving these BTS style videos! Amazing shots too - Ballerinas are such athletes!
They absolutely are! Thanks for watching ☺️
STUNNING work kiddo...seriously amazing.
Thank you so much!
Absolutely stunning, especially the silhouettes 🤩.
Thanks so much!
All gorgeous shots! I was surprised at how slow a shutter speed (1/50s) you were able to get a clean shot at 5:53 as she turned.
Ha some were clean, some were blurry for sure
In the 80's when i was in 2nd Grade. After school baby sitter was a Ballet instructor. so Yea i took ballet as a kid. Beautiful As Always. Much love
So cool! And thanks!
These captures came out incredible, Excellent work
Thank you very much!
These were really good shots. The handstand pose was impressive
Right? She’s awesome
Well done y'all...Most excellent !!
Thank you kindly!
Beautiful work.... thank you for sharing it with us!
Thanks for watching and for the kind words. Hope you stick around!
135mm!
I love that lens for portraits!
It’s such a gem!
Great video Vanessa 😮
Thanks!!
Great work Vanessa. Those gel pictures were superb 👌🏾Came here searching for A10 info with already having D2s x4 & B1x x2 for R3s and R5 v the Canon EL flash for a lightweight off and on camera flash set up so really leaning towards the A10 with already having the Profoto triggers.
Thx so much Barry! Yeah you’ll want all of your flashes to be in the same ecosystem ☺️
Great photos and poses... really well done.
May I ask you, why you chose to shoot with a manual shutter for the dancing pictures in the end? I cam hear the faint sound of a shutter.
Was that intentional or just because you had just used flash in the previous series of photos?
I always shoot in mechanical. Very rarely do I need the perks of electronic
These are great
Thanks!
I dont understand hot to set ISO = 50 (same camera), i need F2 lenses? (24-105 F4)
Nope! For Canon it’s a menu setting under ISO range where you can enable it to go lower than 100 ☺️
@@VanessaJoy Thx 🤤
Amazing shots as always! At 3:09 you shot with ISO 800, how were you able to keep so much noise out of the shot with an ISO that high? Thanks!!
Thanks! The r6 ii doesn’t show much noise at that iso - don’t think I even did any post production noise removal either
Thanks for the insight! @@VanessaJoy
🤗🤗🤗👍
Thx ☺️
Profoto sucks...you people won’t listen to your customers and you refuse to release an adapter to recharge the A10 flash battery via USB-C. I own your products and I am disgusted with you as your customer. Godox is making your company look like a joke because you refuse to give the A10 an off unit USB-C charger. I’m going to launch a class action lawsuit against your company if you do not give us what we need by this Christmas. You are in violation of EU laws
You might want to email Profoto about this, and not a random UA-camr that used their gear 🤷🏻♀️
