Swim running is super enjoyable, especially in the summer!
Gorgeus.

Thanks! It's a beautiful plunge pool.
These are some excellent spots! Me and my friend are trying to find some good spots can I contact u on anything????
Nice place for a swim.
It is lovely!
It was known as the bomb hole when I was a kid, or should I say bomb oyle
You didn’t actually mention where the specific location is
Yeah, this was pretty early into me making videos (two years ago), haven't watched it back in a while but I imagine it's very rough around the edges and there's probably a lot of stuff missing.
This plunge pool is sandwiched between Manchester rd and Rivelin Valley rd, less than 500m from the car park on rails rd. I didn;t know exactly where it was on this first trip, pretty much just ran along the river until I found it haha.
@@AMostlyFunctionalJess oh awesome, thanks so much!!
I need to find this place, it must be slightly further up than I've been before
The easiest way would probably be to park at The Rivelin Valley Conservation Group car park and walk downstream from there. It's not far from where Rails Road crosses the River Rivelin.
Hi Jess is wild camping allowed at riveling valley?
Hey Lynn! There isn't really anywhere to easily wild camp I don't think, it's still within the Sheffield city boundary. You'd either be a stones throw away from houses or in the wyming brook nature reserve, which I wouldn't camp in on account of it being a nature reserve. You could possibly find somewhere on the moorland around The Headstone, which would put you at a 4-5km walk to the plunge pool if that's what you were interested in.
There is the Fox Hagg Farm campsite on Lodge lane though, which is very close to the river and the plunge pool.
Please share the location of the pool. What 3 words would be best. Cheers.

Hey Jess,
What was the weather/temperature back then?
Hi! It was a warm day but this was early in the morning, I think the ambient temperature was around 15°C at that time of day. The water could have been around 10°C but from reports from other people I know it can definitely get warmer than that in the spring and summer, particularly if you go in the evening.
Are there any areas you can park a car safely?
I usually park at the Rivelin Valley Conservation group car park on Rails Roads and it's always been fine. Less than five mins walk from the plunge pool
Is there leaches and that and is it dangerous and can I wear socks a for protection
I'm not aware of leeches at this location, it's a river plunge pool so the water is constantly moving and probably not a good habitat for leeches.
So long as you don't jump in without testing the water first and can swim there should be minimal danger.
I use often use water shoes when I'm going into an unfamilar river or pool for the first time. You can buy them really cheap off Amazon.
A Mostly Functional Jess thankyou so much
What is the exact location???
53.38144744268671, -1.5624289736097734 should give you an accurate google maps pin.
What is the post code
I only knew the rough location, just ran along the River Rivelin until I found it. It's definitely before the river goes under Rails road.
Usually gets mega busy in the evenings apparently so mornings are definitely the best time.
A Mostly Functional Jess ok thanks
