I've already got the GL100.
The looper is really great, it has 100 stereo slots (you can use them as the beginning, verse, bridge, chorus, ending, etc.)
The drum sets are quite nice and cut through well in the mix.
The rhythms are also mostly usable and have nice fills every 8 and 16 bars.

Thanks for sharing! Toward the end of the video I discuss the ups & downs of the GL100. Definitely more ups, but some downs are significant depending on the end-user.
I tried a quite a loopers over the years. Among them I’ve had Ditto, Ditto+, Boss Loop Station, Electro-Harmonix 720 and Singular Aeros Looper. All have had pro’s & cons. Aside from the Ditto Looper, I’ve ended up selling them all because of one reason or another. This one seems to have a lot going for it, especially considering the price. I’ll probably give it a try. It’s nice to hear your experience with some of the popular loopers out there. I would also (at this time) recommend checking out the NUX Loop Core Stereo. I made a video for that looper a few months back. I feel like Mooer has done better with how the GL100 saves, and the drum sounds at this time. Here's to hoping NUX has a firmware update to address this.

I really liked it. I only returned it, because the odd time measure options were limited.. But I am thinking I will get it again later, if they get a couple of good firmware updates.

PS: without MIDI IO, and no expandibility.. ..it falls short..for me, but they've got a pretty package, here no doubt.
I had a Boss RC-50...many moons ago. It was good, but the MIDI synching and also loop timing issues, kinda killed it, for me. And Roland hasn't resolved them, in the more recent iterations..
I have been VERY close to getting the Aeros, a couple of times..but ended up not biting the bullet..
What do you reckon _ Why did you sell it ?
Have you ever tried the recent Valeton VLP-200 ?
What about any of the Sheeran Looper models ?

I have the VLP 200 review coming soon. I do agree It's difficult to find loopers which add drum which have more odd meter options. Mooer seems to have the most meter options of any I have tried so far.
I have not worked with the Sheeran loopers, or spent time investigating loopers over $200 USD. The Headrush powered Sheeran is something I might look into doing reviews for down the road, but we will have to see what other pedals are coming in the new year, and announced at the Winter NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Event in California (January).

Great walk through - thanks! Was getting ready to pull the trigger on the Groove Loop X2 - but this looks better. Recently sold the Boss RC500 due to complexity of menu diving and useless battery life.
Glad you found the video helpful, and it sounds like the GL100 might be the right choice. They dropped a firmware update as this video went live and I'm hoping it cleans up the Drum Match issues seen in my review.
The GL100 has a far better feature set than the X2, and easier to change settings too. The interface is the most intuitive of any looper I have used in this price range.
Great review, thank you. Think I’m gonna try it, although I wish it did have midi (sync) capabilities, the rest of the features seem very nice. Drum sounds are pretty decent as well. So far the donner was highest upon my list, but this just might have dethroned that. The Nux loop core does have midi features but I seem to like the sounds on this and the donner better. I’d be using the jazz drums mainly. Take care.
The GL100 will give you 20 Jazz variations, and I find the workflow to be more intuitive than the Donner. In the right context you might even enjoy some of the "Fusion" beats as well.

They sound very similar to the X2. I plan to make a video comparing drum sounds of the X2, GL100, NUX Loop Core Stereo, and the Donner Circle Looper in the next few weeks.

@@GuitarGrotto that would be amazing! The alternative is a Ditto+ with actual .wav drum tracks loaded in... I'm guessing that would still sound the best, or are these build in loopers with drum sounds close enough?
Since I use the built in drum patterns as guides or inspiration for direction on phrases I loop I haven't really paid much attention to the quality" of the drum sounds. I will be doing a video putting the sounds of the loopers with built-in drums side-by-side, and hope to have it ready soon.

Amazing review, very useful channel, subscribed... How do you compare this to the nux jtc pro? I was just about to buy but this seems to have everything and more... It also seems to have automatic drum fills after a bar? Thank you
This looper will change the the fill every 8-12 bars (it's not always the same). I have played around with the JTC Pro and it's a decent unit but the fills are always identical every 8 bars.

One question, when recording a loop, are you able to let drums start recording first , then you can start playing your guitar? Or do you have to start playing your instrument first , before the loop start to record?
I have not tried this myself. You can start the drums independently from the screen when you press the Drum button. For the music in this video I practiced with the rhythm that closest matched my original drum parts and the used auto-record to capture what you hear.
Just looking for looper ( the loop/drum built in guritr multi FX procesors are a bit shorthanded). Mooer has updated new model, thats cool. But the drums (as in al MOOER`s producst) sounds terrible :( . I`ll test this one, maybe. The competitor to this is Valeton VLP200, also relieased few months ago, it is the same price range, but have dual loops (two tracks, so better for songs an live). Third option I look for Boss RC 10R, it is more expensive, but has superb drum and sound and other options.
Being that Boss is part of Roland the drums sounds. I will have a video up where you can hear just the drums of this and 3 other loopers, hopefully sooner than later.
I need something that is reliable and easy to import/export loops , since my recording skills are non existent . I was going to go with the Boss rc5, but now this Mooer caught my eye. I wonder which would be better for my purposes?
The RC-5 is a solid device, and either should be as easy to work with as the other. I have not played with any software for the RC5. Yet...
The advantage for the GL100 at this time is the Mooer Studio for GL100 app auto-converts any audio or video file for optimal playback. The RC-5 is a heavy-duty rock-solid build. The GL100 is sturdy, but appears to be an all-plastic case. However it does have two footswtiches and allows pretty easy loop switching on the fly.
@@GuitarGrotto man thank you for all your help . I went with the Mooer, since your opinion and since I have the Mooer drum pedal, and I have been very happy with the sounds and functionality. Also simplicity of use is most important to me, and for some reason the Mooer strikes me as more user friendly. Your help is greatly appreciatef. Consider me suscribed
Great video. I couldn't understand if it is possible to import drum grooves (like the one you can get from yurt rock). I am about to get the nux stereo looper because it also offers that ability.
Yurt Rock is selling you beats/pre-recorded files that you can load into a loop memory location. The Mooer will work this way as well.
