Thanks for that precious recording. In today's world seeing a notorious clown Yannick the head of the MET Orchestra coming to Vienna next Jan 1 to conduct New Year's Concert it's important to have a videos like yours. I do hope many people will watch the craft of maestro Carlos Kleiber the world's greatest conductor ever lived. Mediocres are everywhere and it's almost unbelievable how quick the world of a real music turned into commercial 🤮. I do hope Vienna will boycott a Seguin clown in less then a year from today.
glad im not the only one concerned about the future of this genre. More and more giant names in the industry are leaving the world with no real successors 😢
Kleiber is surely the greatest conductor ever, so truly connected to each musician in his orchestra and then shares with them such a wonderful smile when they all reach the perfection he is permanently seeking to achieve.. this is like a ballet, a musical dance... simply beautiful and heartbreakingly touching
Absolutely marvelous! Thank you for this superb restoration. Kleiber shapes these wonderful phrases, his hand and arm gestures like a sculpture in sound. The tempo of the 2nd movement is right, many conductors take it too slowly, but Beethoven's innovation is to write a slow movement in Allegretto. Bavarian State sounds like a world class orchestra here. Bravo all round!
GREAT restoration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you! Great conducting plain and simple. I saw him conduct 4 operas at the Met. My friend in the orchestra told me he was hands down the best conductor he ever played with. Levine attended every rehearsal, Bernstein came to a few and told the NYPO they should go across to the Met and hear the GOAT.
This is magnificent. Carlos Kleiber is top class and a most wonderful conductor to behold. The music just flows from every fibre of his body. How I wish I could have seen him conduct in person. But what an excellent job has been done with this restoration.
without question, Beethovens 7th, 2nd movement is his best ever, and since he wrote it in early 1800s, there has been no other piece better than this....
The second movement of this symphony never fails to bring tears to my eyes and none other than the great Carlos Kleiber is able to transmit such pure and raw emotion. Thank you for uploading this. ❤
true and ironically many people questioned his choice of tempo while failing to realize that this in the end of the day is an "allegretto", a slightly slower version of allegro.
The sound is still about 50-100 ms off from the video, but different cameras in this footage seem to have slightly different latency... c'est la vie. Very interesting to hear this 'restored', thank you. Generally I think the audio is a tad late.
I'd say it's quite rare to see that many conductors with mesmerizing choreography while still maintaining deadly-accurate conducting job. A true showmanship being displayed here.
I cannot think of a conductor whom I would prefer to watch above Carlos Kleiber
high five!!
Abbado, same stunning conductor.

The best conductor of the second half XX century conducting the most beautiful of Beethoven's Synphonies.
agreed!😁
For sure!
and his father's too.
After so many years, the excitement still shines through the music.
doesn't it!
coming back to this performance always bring me joy
The best Beethoven 7th (and 5th) in my opinion! Great Kleiber, always perfect!
The sound quality has been improved wonderfully. This makes me understand the greatness of the performance even more vividly.

And there will never be someone like mo Kleiber again. Beethoven reincarnated within his artistry, that's for sure.
The greatest of them all !
Thank you for rescuing this invaluable treasure of the humanity. Fantastic job.

Magnific Kleiber
He was my one&only conductor ~
I'm so so sad that i can't see him.
Music and conducting

A great restoration Henri. Thank you.
thanks! super glad that you like it
Simplemente Carlos Kleiber. Nadie se le iguala.
Un senso del ritmo meraviglioso
Kleiber encapsulates and embodies the music in a way that is unique. It is extraordinary.
A sheer masterpiece. Joy turned into music.
@@angelicatrotta2857 a masterpiece indeed.
Decades later, i still couldnt find a more joyful version of this piece 😊
Perhaps the best version of the 1st movement I've ever heard. Kleibler was the master!
@@MarkGlazer-m7f the best version of the whole piece one would say 😊
@@henridenafel The version with him and the Concertgebouw was definitely better rehearsed than this, sounds tighter and better balanced.
Great Muisician! i LOVE TO HEAR HIS RENDITIONS!!!
I love this too much!
bravoooooo❤

I guess you know this already, that he enjoyed ballroom dancing. It really shows in his conducting

6:45 big mistake LOL
nice catch there, you have good ears 😁
Second movement is always played too slowly (and seems to me excessively melodramatic, not to say depressing). Kleiber brought joy back to it
Quand je pense que son père lui a fait faire des études de chimie…
