It's established early on in the early books that The further you are from the blight the more mythicized the creature of the dark become. Fades also can't turn sideways and become invisible.
I was more or less, unimpressed with a majority of Season 1. But season 2 comes out Strong. I believe s02 ep. 6 has been my favorite. It's really well.done!
I didn't get the impression that Moiraine killed that Fade with the dagger thrust. I also didn't think Lan one shotted a few. Maybe it was due to the 'Fades are cheaper to animate at night' effect, but I thought there were only two that just kept getting wounded until Lan got a killing blow on one with his Power-wrought sword, and Thomas killed the other with his Fire imbued blade. Also, I still choose to believe that the dagger in S1 wasn't *THE* dagger. It just can't be, with everyone walking away. I think it was a bad call to make it look like it - either by the props department, or direction to set up a fake out death.
I agree, I think there is only two or three max, but they keep moving through the shadows, making you think there are more. Also perhaps show dagger is only deadly when around its bonded user (Mat).
I'm excited to see your s2 reactions. The episodes do get better for sure. The first 2 episodes were slower and seem like they needed to explain to viewers the motivations of each character better.
3. Lan - 2, Thomas and Verin - 1. Moiraine - 0. If you reawatch the scene, after Moiraine stabs the Fade, later on, behind her there is no one on the ground. Also later on Verin says that there were 3 Fades (trying to avoid spoilers and not using the full line). There. Moiraine doesn't kill a Fade. I don't know why people keep thinking that.
I liked how Tom taught Mat and Rand how to survive with busquing and juggling. I WISH the Tom/Morguase past paid off. The rest of his story had little to interest me, though I did like his friendship with Mat. I'm glad you guys are reviewing this. It has been a while since you watched something I also watch. (Though I am also watching your Expanse stuff. I watched that originally as it came out and had a rewatch 2 years ago. I like the reminder.)
I decided to watch it as a generic fantasy series written by a moderately talented fanfic author who heard about the wheel of time book series once. That way it is at least enjoyable to watch, especially because the cast is awsome.
I felt exactly the same about the Moiraine/Lan plot line. Don't want to spoil anything for you but this is by far the worst plot line in the whole season imo. It takes up so much time and is so poorly written it makes me sad.
Episode one is definitely the slowest moving, once the ball gets rolling it keeps plowing forward really! Look forward to the rest. Five through eight especially are a*
My Like got you to 419 - wish I could give you one more! I agree with a lot of what you say in the spoiler section - this episode had a lot of scenes that kind of depended on book knowledge. I think it does get better as the season goes on. I'll be excited to see your reactions for the remainder of the season!
Nah, the Fades moving through shadows is like the one thing they haven't ballsed up tbh. That was cool, i think they did it well Mo killing one by stabbing it in the cheek was not interesting Roosta, it was fkn stupid. Everybody should be dead. Very curious to hear your thoughts on S2 - Seems lots of people commenting claim to have enjoyed it, but I found it incredibly disappointing in many ways. They did some things right, and it's better than S1... But holy smokes did they bungle some big moments with questionable writing decisions.
Season 2 was a marked improvement over season 1. Some great writing and characterization My biggest concern is that the showrunners seem willing to sacrifice character (including arcs), plot logic, or consistancy for basically "epic" fanboi squee moments. Scenes that, for a moment, thrill you or make you cheer, only to fall flat the more you think about it. Because they seem to be done thoughtlessly and without consideration for everything that has been set up. I am reminded of the Star Wars sequels and their reliance on nostalgia for those moments. Despite how i felt in theaters, it very quicklu soured and felt cheap. Manipulative. Pandering. It just didnt feel earned. I am concerned that, from what i have seen in seasons 1 and 2, that the writers (or the showrunner, rather) is willing to go for those fanboi squee moments at the cost of the integrity of the plot, characters, and very clearly laid down show logic. Having recently finished Silo, Severance and The Boys GenV, the contrast is painfull ly obvious. It hurts in comparison. (Please review Silo and Severance!!! And Genv, of course. They are amazing shows and so tightly written. I was blown away.) Love your videos. Cant wait to see more
Hi guys, getting ready for season 3 so I started watching your rewatch and reaction to season 2. Yes, whoever blows the horn gets the benefit. Good or bad at least in the books. Apparently the TV show's different. I don't like season 2 as much as season 1. It suffers from some of the same problems as season 1. In my opinion they waste a whole episode on. Well you'll see. I don't want to spoil it but there's pacing issues and all kinds of stuff. They don't follow their own rule.
I still don't understand the "Perrin had a wife" decision. It's basically the only creative choice I can't see the reasoning for yet. Everything else I can logic out, as a TV choice, but that remains baffling. Spoilers (kinda) --- --- --- I can only assume it's to add something to Perrin's reluctance, and then subsequent obsession of saving, of someone later on.
If you two are confused, imagine how confused this non-book reader is. I did watch season 1 but now I have barely a clue WTF is going on. I think I will pass on this unless somebody can *really* persuade me to continue. Plenty more shows to watch.
If they have to do the stupid 8 episode seasons because The Evil Empire is giving them no choice they should at least do a 2 hour premier episode each season. They just cut too much out. ----- Side note ---- Love how the Big Fan Bois are mad that Lan didn't just insta-merk the fades. "He's the best swordsman ever and can beat 100 fades in his sleep!!!" So funny.
I just realised idc at all for any part of the show that doesn’t have lanfear. That character/actress slaid so hard *chefs kiss* I don’t remember any of this show aside from her To be fair I think I also fell asleep or fastforwarded through all this like all of it lmao.

This show is not an 8/10 even if you haven't read the books. It's not even doing most of what it's trying to do well, much less trying to adapt the books well. That's an insanely generous rating.
By now ya'll should realize that what happened in the books doesn't matter. So much has been changed that the story written in the books has little bearing on the show and it will only get worse as the effects of these changes compound over time.
then why name the series The wheel of time? why not random generic magic show N25? oooooohhh that why the want the build in audience, nobody has a problem with changes from the books in order to better fit TV series but when the end product barely resembles the original and every single change or new storyline is so bad that you wonder if darkfriends made the show or it is just gross incompetence from the writers? if the actors weren't so good that they essentially carried the show on acting alone this show would be a 2/10.
Listening to u guys, talk about how the show has made the Dagger 🗡️ useless since is just a normal dagger is hilarious. If they are willing to change main pot n rules like using the One Power to create a Sword out of Air, braking the way the one power works n it rules 😂😂. What else u think they may change.
Every single plot point around that super-death-forever dagger is janky. It is a flat-out continuity blunder to have characters stabbed by it, and show up a couple episodes later, like nothing happened. Make an argument for the other, but one character (rhymes with ink tar) is laid-flat, eyes wide open, not breathing D E A D.
@@Ailthas at 18:20, on this episode of the show an Aes Sedai created a weapon of Air with the one power braking one of the 3 laws that make an Aes Sedai, n if the writers are willing to break the Magic System of the world n contradict the laws they have already stablished them self on this adaptation is the problem. The show constantly contradicts n changes what things can do every episode n continues is broken making things impossible to fall just like how been shield by the one power. @nicolascardillo7615 you didn't answer the question so I will say it. That scene is derived from a scene in the books where the amyrlin seat herself creates a sword from air. It was a demonstration because the oath is not to create a weapon for one man to kill another, not to just create a temporary thing that doesn't get used. Words are important.

It gets worse, that's all ill say. Episode 5 is the best literally because someone is not in it. It looks better, it's probably a better show but to call it an adaptation is a joke. And not a very funny one if you care about any of the characters apart from Egwene. In my opinion.
No offense to Rosslyn Pike or her performance I wish they never cast her in the role. If they hadn't we would have gotten a much more faithful adaptation.
Or maybe we wouldn't have gotten an adaptation at all. We don't know the extent to which her involvement contributed to the project being made in the first place.

@Ailthas , and others who may feel the same way: ( " @gaoasaurusg2159 good lord I keep getting reminded why I hate comments on this channel.... I really don't understand what is happening in these comments" ): As to not understanding what is happening in the comments, I am putting forth a differing opinion. Yes, I realize this may be a foreign concept to many, but it is a thing that used to happen often. Let me explain. Once upon a time someone would state an opinion. Another person would counter with facts and evidence to back their differing opinion. The other would acknowledge or refute these with facts of their own and civil discourses were had with folks often becoming friends afterwards. Back then, people didn't 'hate' that they encountered differing opinions. It was a normal part of interacting with other people. Perhaps one day the pendulum will swing back to a place where people with differing opinions can engage in meaningful conversations that expand our world not slice it down into ever smaller niches of impenetrable division.
this is the internet and most of the times its like that, but i see it a different way at lest for this comment section, instead of focusing on the divisions i think we all like The wheel of time as a franchise and at least the 99% of people wanted this show to be good and shout its praises from the mountaintops, unfortunately is is objectively not, the actors are very good and doing their best and i respect them for that but every single other aspect of the show is at best questionable, some people like it and that's ok but some others don't, i find especially the writing to be at best incompetent and its not the only problem (look at the choreography for the fight or sometimes how scenes are filmed). If you remember the basic point that some people will have conversations with you for things they like or don't like others will hate or love at the extremes, just look and pick the people that seems open to conversations if you want that and not those that are planted firm in their positions positive or negative.
People misuse the term "objectively" all the time, and it annoys me. There is nothing "objective" about opinions. Please stop using that word when describing your opinions.

Relistening and there's a similarly awkward moment with Alanna and Egwene, but not nearly as hilariously over the top as this was. ❤
fades in the books also teleported in the shadows but later on that was not brought up again. So this one is jordan's fault
It's established early on in the early books that The further you are from the blight the more mythicized the creature of the dark become. Fades also can't turn sideways and become invisible.
Don't forget that a week is 10 days as well, and I'm not sure if a month is 30 days.Someone else might know more about that stuff 🤔.
Been waiting forever for this!! Hope u enjoy this season as much as I did!
There is a timeskip in the first season.
Fades have this power, jordan and sanderson just rarely used this power- it is awesome to see it actually used for something
No spiders, little upkeep...when you channel the one power.
Yes, I've been looking forward to this ... and here we go!
Thank goodness you are reacting to the show...I was experiencing withdrawal and contemplating a 12 step program...I am entertained!
I was more or less, unimpressed with a majority of Season 1. But season 2 comes out Strong. I believe s02 ep. 6 has been my favorite. It's really well.done!
Season 2 really is the better season which is ironic considering how much more this season deviated for added moraine and lan.
YES!!! So excited to see you react to season 2!
Verin and Adeleas are sisters in the tv show.
Been waiting for this! so excited to see what you guys think of season 2
Leaving a comment for the algorithm! Also super excited to have a new reaction to watch. Just subscribed because I need to see more.
I’m excited to see your reactions for season 2!
9:28 oof, you had no idea how right you were 🙈
EDIT. 14:24 oof. I'm so sorry for you 😔
EDIT: 32:44 oh dear god.
I’ve been looking forwards to your reactions so much!!!!
Ok I'll come back this weekend and watch the whole thing but I wanted to get you the credits for the algorithm
até q enfim, mais gente reagindo a essa série
I'm excited to see your s2 reactions. The episodes do get better for sure. The first 2 episodes were slower and seem like they needed to explain to viewers the motivations of each character better.
Soo happy you guys are watching this show
Oh I am so here for the fade kill count 😂
Glad these are coming though I also want to see the rewatch!
I’m so happy to see you guys back for WOT reactions!!! ❤
Love your hair Nerdy! Clarus, you are as beautiful as always! ❤
Wow first time watching one of these videos and I have to dodge full book spoilers 😭😭😭
I love season 2 so much. I did not like the tension between Lan and Moiraine. Looking forward to your reactions!!
8:00 wait is that spoilers. Are we bad at this? 😂😂😂😂😂 also Clarus ur makeups 👌🏿
Five through eight especially are a*
Omg you’re right about the timeline
Do we know that it would be the Heroes of the light side who would appear if a darkfriend blew the horn?
Yes
My Like got you to 419 - wish I could give you one more! I agree with a lot of what you say in the spoiler section - this episode had a lot of scenes that kind of depended on book knowledge. I think it does get better as the season goes on. I'll be excited to see your reactions for the remainder of the season!
Land only killed 2.
Verin
Mat
Rand
Thom
Nynaeve
Thom's not my #1, but pretty close. Bards are the best to have in a party.
Nah, the Fades moving through shadows is like the one thing they haven't ballsed up tbh. That was cool, i think they did it well Mo killing one by stabbing it in the cheek was not interesting Roosta, it was fkn stupid. Everybody should be dead. And Tomas's flame sword would have been fine. If it was Rands.
OMG! I had erased for my mind how many useless senes are on the episode let’s hope they have enough time for the whole adaptation of the book that are important n do not skip it for this. I wander how much of this episode u thinking is realy important for the story. Remember GoT every sense was important n they had way more episodes let’s hope they do know what they doing.
Is it Christmas already?! 🎉🎉
Thanks for the wonderful video!
Some great writing and characterization
My biggest concern is that the showrunners seem willing to sacrifice character (including arcs), plot logic, or consistancy for basically "epic" fanboi squee moments.
I was blown away.)
Love your videos.
Not a book reader. But I enjoyed season one somewhat. Season two is a lot better.
I still don't understand the "Perrin had a wife" decision. It's basically the only creative choice I can't see the reasoning for yet. Everything else I can logic out, as a TV choice, but that remains baffling.
Spoilers (kinda)

I can only assume it's to add something to Perrin's reluctance, and then subsequent obsession of saving, of someone later on.
Yes. The whole Moraine/LAN is so annoying when their relationship is solid and LAN is so stoic. Just didn't seem necessary.
If you two are confused, imagine how confused this non-book reader is. I did watch season 1 but now I have barely a clue WTF is going on. I think I will pass on this unless somebody can *really* persuade me to continue. Plenty more shows to watch.
This will be fun
Moiraine is trying to protect Lan imo
S2 E1 is my least favorite episode. However, they get progressively better.
For the algorithm!
S1 was 8/10 and S2 is 9/10. Yes, I've read the books countless times.
even if you forget or never read the books, which show are you watching mate that is 9/10? tell me because i want to see it too, surely its not this one, except maybe if you turn off your brain completely and watch just for the acting, then maybe even if its a little stretched its a 9/10. if you watch on how it is filmed, the choreography of the fights and the worst of all the writing/characters and plots and still think that is a 9/10 this is the first show you watch on TV or you are very young in either case i envy you because you have a lot of great things to see yet for the first time.
@@johnk.4389 why is it so difficult to accept that people have different tastes? Editing/directing is the biggest issue the show has
@@WildFinn96 nah man i am happy that you like so much but i just can't understand why, and not because of the books forget them, but the show in it's own merit many times don't make sense or contradicts itself, oh well, if you like it just like it and i am happy for you, i just hoped i could also liked it because i love this franchise but i just can't.
This show is not an 8/10 even if you haven't read the books. It's not even doing most of what it's trying to do well, much less trying to adapt the books well. That's an insanely generous rating.
@@Darm0k it's great television
Where has Perring et been for 5 months... healing?
moiraine vs lan storyline is the weakest part of the season
WoT Season 2, Plz. Forget everything u saw on S1 Finale. Special Loial been Stabbed 2 times with Matt’s Cursed Dagger 🗡️ or Nynaeve’s Resurrection.
Don’t try to connect the timeline between S1 and S2. 😂 Just enjoy the fact that S2 is better.
I couldn't watch it. it drove me crazy.
Yeah a weak start to season two. Probably my least favorite episode of season two. So that’s a positive.
Wait did you just say there wasn't a sword made out of air in the books?
@@Ailthas at 18:20, on this episode of the show an Aes Sedai created a weapon of Air with the one power braking one of the 3 laws that make an Aes Sedai, n if the writers are willing to break the Magic System of the world n contradict the laws they have already stablished them self on this adaptation is the problem. The show constantly contradicts n changes what things can do every episode n continues is broken making things impossible to fall just like how been shield by the one power. They themselves say it Logan was Abel to know he was shielded n us his powers to broken the shield n attack, nyenive was shielded n she still felt the one power but Moerain thinks she was lost her powers n is still? Co continuity thinking don’t make sense?
@nicolascardillo7615 you didn't answer the question so I will say it. That scene is derived from a scene in the books where the amyrlin seat herself creates a sword from air. It was a demonstration because the oath is not to create a weapon for one man to kill another, not to just create a temporary thing that doesn't get used. Words are important.
@@nicolascardillo7615 I haven't read the books, but I know that "Resurrection" is a level 7 spell, and I saw 2 different level 1 characters cast it in the first season.
The 8 Deadly Words;
"I don't care what happens to these people."
Who is even the main character of this show? What are their goals?
We're back! As a show hatewatcher, its going to be very interesting to hear your thoughts now that you have read the books. VERY INTERESTING.
LOL you are now book readers .. .. my advice .. turn off your brain.. realise that they are only going for 5% from the books .. book cloak? !!
Have already given up on this. This is a disgrace to the Robert Jordan and his books.
The weave that 'cleans' the water annoyes me, because the Aes Seadi can't put out fires by moving heat around, but they can just make a non-trivial amount of matter vanish? What the hell happens to it?
It gets worse, that's all ill say. Episode 5 is the best literally because someone is not in it. It looks better, it's probably a better show but to call it an adaptation is a joke. And not a very funny one if you care about any of the characters apart from Egwene. In my opinion.
No offense to Rosslyn Pike or her performance I wish they never cast her in the role. If they hadn't we would have gotten a much more faithful adaptation.
Or maybe we wouldn't have gotten an adaptation at all. We don't know the extent to which her involvement contributed to the project being made in the first place.
@@purpleajah7425 we're dealing hypotheticals here. If I had a hypothetical coin with an true 50/50% chance that could rewrite the a very fabric of our universe into my hypothetical or your hypothetical with minimal changes outside of that(no relatives that die that shouldn't have died or The strike would have gone on longer or stuff like that); I would do so without a second thought.
