Best 2 lines in this scene from Leonora and Xander: "I shall never fall in love. It seems a beastly business. It is, Leo. Avoid it if you can." Makes me smile. Kinda lightens things up.
I thought so too :)
I really love Charlotte smile when Mary tells her « then why are you seating here with me ? », her smile shows all the joy she feels at the idea of telling Xander that she’s free to marry him.
Others have said this following the airing of Episode 6 and I have to echo you all: I am sad that we have reached the finale of Sanditon 3. I felt weepy in a number of moments of Episode 6, and what makes me happy is that we are all still part of this wonderful community. Susan Firth, such deep & sincere thanks to you as always, (and no reply needed here of course).
Now, this particular sequence. I love seeing those Colbourne brothers in conversation.
Maybe one of the most profound lines in the entire series is in this clip:
Alexander to Samuel: “I’m increasingly of the belief that we’re not meant to walk this life alone.”
When Samuel continues with “I thought you’d abandoned hope of Miss Heywood”,
Alexander’s response is not true. He says, “I’m not thinking of her.”
BUT OF COURSE HE IS THINKING OF HER.
He knows that Augusta and Leo “are in need of a mother” - but it’s still hard for me to believe that Alexander could see himself married to Lady Lydia.
I love Mary in this part of the story and in SO MANY parts of Sanditon 3:
Mary: Does he [Mr. Colbourne] know that you are no longer to be married?
Charlotte: Not yet.
Mary: Then why are you sitting here with me ?
AND CHARLOTTE STARTS TO LAUGH. You gotta love it -- ❤❤❤
Great thought process. In my mind I was thinking not only would Charlotte be a great mother on her own ; she'd definitely NOT be the evil stepmother to Leo or Augusta.
I have not read Jane Austin, what a romantic novelist.
Rosie Williams absolutely killed it in season 2 and 3, particularly season 3. She was great in the first season, too, but there were other much more interesting characters out to play than (like Esther Denham) then.
So... was Alexander not admitting to his brother that he was thinking of Miss Heywood 😍 or is he resigning himself to consider Lady Lydia? 😱
I just watched the broadcast and even though I've watched that scene a few times since March 19, once again I'm left with the same question! Colbourne seemed like he meant it. He seems to be trying to put Charlotte out of his mind and consider Lady Lydia. That was so sad.
@@amritawhitman8112 As we found out later, Lady Lydia was engaged in secret. Georgiana assumed it was Colbourne, but yet Alexander knew the whole story....she was engaged behind her mother's back. I'm just glad they didn't get engaged.
I don’t think he has ever considered Lady Lydia as a possible match for him. She was just a way to distract his thoughts from Charlotte. Not very effective as we could see during the ball of the 4th episode. 😂
@@florencelelieur8183 yes, even when talking to LL and her mother, he kept glancing over to Charlotte while she was talking to Augusta.
