As I get older, I notice more and more the effects of trauma in both my own life and the life of others, including family members who I would have never thought of as being traumatized. I really wonder what happened to my now deceased dad. He was never one to talk much about his past. Perhaps just a characteristic of men of his generation, but I have always wondered if he (and myself) was high functioning autistic. I really only began to pay attention to this during my dad dying of Alzheimer’s, and my own past starting catching up with me (and I never thought or even think now that I had a particularly bad childhood). The tragedy of life is much clearer now, even though I know that there are many beautiful things in the world.

I actually wish my parents would have told me this is an unsafe world. I had to learn that through experience.
Thank you for the awesome video!
I most definitely have OCD. No hoarding though. That gives me anxiety. Interesting I see it in other family members too, but they do hoard.

I'm a 24 year old male, and I suspect that I might have BPD. I'm very afraid of rejection and paranoid about people finding stuff out about me that will cause them to shun me. The fear of rejection is 1,000X worse in romantic and sexual relationships, and I worry all the time that no woman will ever love me in those ways and that unless I seize everything in front of me that even remotely looks like an opportunity, it will never happen. Ironically, I also feel terrified whenever a woman actually agrees to go on a date with me. I think part of it is that I'm afraid of commitment and afraid of making myself vulnerable, even though another part of me desperately hopes to be able to make myself totally vulnerable and be loved and accepted. It makes no sense, I know. I just feel like I'm too ugly, socially inept, and just plain weird to ever be loved, and I also feel worthless a lot of the time. Does this sound like BPD?

    "Screw you, sorry!"
Lol, I chuckled a bit at that apology for saying "screw you" while discussing a field in which we'll definitely hear far more vile things.

Please don’t confuse a genuinely enigmatic personality for multiple personality disorder with a underlying trauma. Some people are multifaceted, and have rich personality. These types of people can pull from a plethora of experience and knowledge to cope with many different stress even trauma. Please when you are assessing MPD that you also asses their cognitive and intellectual capacity. MPD has a tell tell sign when imaging is done of the brain. MPD also comes with disassociation and an incongruence within the personality. If the personality pieces fit together wether you think it is appropriate or not means that the patient is not suffering from MPD. It very important that psychologist and psychiatrist and behavioral health specialist view their patients with an unbiased examination. Is the job of the healthcare provider to see and understand the connections of the patient’s different sides of their singular personality. It is not unreasonable to behave one way in a particular setting and another way in a completely different setting. You would not wear a bathing suit to the opera. But you can listen to opera at the pool while in your bathing suit.
