Redbone was an amazing Native American band that traveled around the world! Lolly and Pat Vegas also wrote songs for many artists. Jimmy Hendrix said that Lolly Vegas was one of the best guitar players he'd ever heard! Before Redbone Lolly and Pat Vegas played the clubs on the Sunset Strip!
Jimi himself had Cherokee blood lines from his Mom's side. Jimi encouraged Lolly to form a Native American band as well, and in fact suggested the name Redbone (Lolly's nickname). Great stuff ✌🏽

back then AM radio was better than FM radio. i used to listen to this and as soon as it went off i would furiously turn the radio dial to try and find it again! it is such a great song!
😂 Yes! We had to do what we had to do, mostly on hope. Luckily when a song was still hot it was being played somewhere, until the next new thing. Then it was waiting on a one of lists, maybe an hour before it was played again, then a few times a day.

Yes Redbone was Native American, & the Dance is called the "Fancy Dance", Pan-Indian dancing, Fancy Feather or Fancy War Dance is a style of dance some believe was originally created by members of the Ponca tribe in the 1920s and 1930s, in an attempt to preserve their culture and religion. This song was the cut back in the day, one of my favorites, you would have to hear the 45 single to really get into the song. Them singing it live was good but the 45 single was happening with some mad beats and funky rhythm back then. Yeah the single audio version would have been great to listen to, although it was also great to see them again on you guys UA-cam channel.
