  • @hauntcharged

    When using Turret Whip, the t4 turret mod “Hawkeye System” allows you to laser pointer a target before activating turret whip. Great for targeting large enemies or the middle of a swarm.

    So I just watched the first and second part of the engineer masterclass. I went to sub and was shocked at how small this channel is! This is the type of content I expect from a much larger channel and more experienced creator. Someone has all their early cringe videos out of the way. Dude, yer crushin it. Fantastic content, huge value in the info you are giving out, excellent editing, smooth commentary. I really hope you blow up and grow like crazy.

    A mechanic that I think doesn't get enough love is the Hawkeye turret's target painting mechanic. You can ping a menace from across the caves to get your turret to focus on it and turret whip it into oblivion

    • @TheLegendOfFLG
      @TheLegendOfFLG  2 роки тому +5

      Agreed, I use that specifically all the time. If I turret whip I basically always have the hawkeye system.

    I'd say Warthog with Magnetic Pellet with 11222 covers almost all of it's weaknesses.
    But the real gem is Stubby + EM Refire on 32221, or 32211 for dreadnaught missions.
    Tons of ammo, great damage, and good at almost all ranges

  • @qwsxedcrfv
    @qwsxedcrfv 2 роки тому +16

    I’m fairly sure the way em discharge and arc turrets work is that the turrets don’t have a hitbox when first placed from your dwarf, but once built, they keep that hitbox when relocating, meaning that if you never recall your turrets, you can always trigger the stubby ocs, even as the turrets are flying through midair.

    About the armor mods for more max shield capacity or more max health. Boosting max health will result in getting more health back from every resupply "tray" that you consume during a mission, and potentially lets you eke out more benefit from available red sugar if there's enough of it, as well as of course being of more benefit on Shield Disruption missions. Whereas increasing max shield capacity gives you a little extra every time your shield recharges to full capacity. So either choice will benefit you multiple times throughout the course of a single mission. Of course, your shield will get depleted and need to recharge more times per mission than your health will get restored to max level. But you get only 5 points of increase to max shields from the armor mod, versus 20 points of extra health from the other mod. So the benefits of the 2 choices are more balanced than it might initially seem, and to my mind it becomes more a matter of personal preference than a clear argument for one mod being objectively "superior" to the other.

    • @madtrips9349
      @madtrips9349 2 роки тому +4

      Yes however if your friend runs shield link, 300 percent of 30 is alot more than 25.

    • @Deceneu66
      @Deceneu66 2 роки тому +2

      @@madtrips9349 I'm not seeing Shield Link used that much in game. Do you know why>?

    • @TheLegendOfFLG
      @TheLegendOfFLG  2 роки тому +4

      Well there's no guarantee of getting health at all. You have to find it by luck or resupply. So those 20 extra points are only available if you can maintain full health the whole mission. The shield is constantly recharging. So over time it is actually an advantage. Especially when you consider taking cover when your shield is down, then quickly bounce back with full shield. You end up losing less health overall and have way less downs. The quicker it comes back, the less likely I lose health in the first place.
      Also I didn't mention the fact that you have bonuses to when your shield breaks. So even those bonuses will be trigger'd more often if your shield comes back faster then if it takes longer. It's not about the extra shield at all but about having it more often then not having it.
      Most of the haz 5 missions I do, our whole team is needing health for the last half of the mission. So the increase in health isn't even helping for the entire mission as where the shield is.
      So I will have to disagree with you on this one, but I don't think it really makes a difference on passing missions or getting kills efficiently. So it's a pretty small disagreement to have✌
      Rock and Stone Friend!

    • @hankokazaki5804
      @hankokazaki5804 2 роки тому +3

      @@TheLegendOfFLG I agree, it's a small disagreement, and I'm not even saying that I would necessarily always take Healthy over Overcharger, but I think it's overstating matters to suggest there is only way legit choice on Tier 2 for the armor mods. I'm also not talking about the Tier 1 mods for reducing shield recharge *delay* (I really like that one) or increasing the shield recharge *rate*. For survivability, those are both impactful - I prefer reducing the delay on that tier.
      I do think it's useful to clarify that the Tier 2 mod, "Overcharger", does not say anything about impacting "if your shield comes back faster". (Arguably, if there is a fixed rate at which the shield recharges, then filling it up to 30 rather than 25 might actually take a little bit *longer* to reach full shields... Not that that's really a problem.) What Overcharger does is give you 30 max shield rather than 25, so that if you take more than 25 damage in one hit on a fully intact shield, but less than 30, then your shield won't break with Overcharger, whereas it would have with Healthy as your choice on Tier 2. And when you take enough damage from a particular hit to break your shield, then presumably the portion of that damage applied that comes out of your health will be 5 less with Overcharger than without it. (Though with Healthy you're starting out with 20 more max health, or actually 22 points more if you have all your armor masteries - see deeprockgalactic.fandom.com/wiki/Health.)
      It's true that in order to enjoy the full benefits of the 20-22 points of extra health (from Healthy) more than once in a given mission, you do need to be able to consume at least 2 resupply trays or else to find a certain amount of red sugar. Give that resupply trays each give you 50% of your max health, with Healthy that should mean that you get 10-11 extra health points back per resupply tray. So you don't necessarily need to reach max health again, in order to get the same benefits in terms of extra health gained from resupply trays. And if you take the Resupplier perk (maxed out at level 4), then each resupply tray will give you 75% of max health instead of 50% (which means with Resupplier you'd get 15-17 more points of health from a resupply tray, with Healthy selected, than you would without it). So I think there are some different factors that can enter into the decision about which of the 2 Tier 2 armor mods to take, that might have to do with play-style, player class, build, and personal preference. But I do agree that the higher the Hazard level you play at, the more relatively stingy the game will be with both red sugar and nitra, so the "repeat benefit" calculations for having the 20-22 points of extra max health will show a decline at the highest hazard levels. And at the highest hazard levels, the frequency of having one's shield break and recharge presumably would increase as well.
      I enjoy thinking through these issues, but I'm no elite player and am not arguing against anybody's preferences for those mods or the legitimacy of their reasons for preferring what they do. Just wanting to balance the scales a little bit to indicate that playing with Shield Disruption warning may not be the *only* circumstance in which a rational person might choose the "Healthy" armor mod... :)
      P.S.: I almost forgot to mention that I really enjoy your DRG content!

      @@hankokazaki5804 that's a lot of good points man!
      Agreed! Particularly about the difference of a haz 5 vs everything else. I play with people 3 and sometimes 4 times my level and we never have health for the majority of the missions lol but thats because we are always running haz 5s or lethal enemies.
      And there is A LOT to be said about play style. I've seen people use builds in ways I've never thought of. And when I try to use the same build I can't as efficiently.
      Well spoken and lots of detail there man!
      Glad you commented on my video, I also enjoy thinking through these things.
      I also learn new things everyday from people like you so I welcome the comments!

    For the 40mm, try 12212 with RJ250. 21 shots and the reduced damage doesn’t effect the heat build up on enemies. Turns it into mini incendiary grenades that can clear grunts easy. However, you do limit your ability against big targets, so a powerful primary will be needed.

    When I play scout, I try to grapple above the red sugar, stand on it, and mine it when I will have enough time to re-grapple to cancel my fall once I've mined the sugar.
    That way, I can get sugar for myself and allies without having to rely on an engie for it (or use the extra platforms).

      That's exactly it amigo! Actually while I was making this video I would put one down and they would just walk over it. Then put a line down, still didn't matter. So I didn't really mention it because I'm not sure if that's just my experience or why it's not working thst well.
      Also this video got kinda long so I had to end it😆

    • @Kassul42
      @Kassul42 2 роки тому +14

      The bugs treat any distance they need to walk over platforms as taking twice as long as they really are. So if they have a 'shorter' path around the platforms they'll take that. If you're standing on the platform island you made, then a straight path to you is shortest anyway, so they'll do that.
      If you build a really huge line of platforms, it's quicker for the bug AI to just walk over it than around a line of 10 platforms, so they ignore them. It's tricky!
      Molly uses the bug pathing AI, so you can test your plats by calling her and seeing how she behaves.
