    Thank you for sharing these hacks. I would love to see more of them. I have recently read that if you have crusty brushes, wash them in warm wash, dish detergent and add a single drop of fabric softener into your water. They turn out clean, soft and smelling great. 🤷

    Murphy's Oil Soap for the crusty bits brushes. It won't degrade the adhesive inside the ferrule (which causes shedding), and it really does just seem to slide the paint off the bristles. If you're in a real pinch and it still won't come off, pure acetone (hardware store or beauty supply) will take it ALL off if you just soak it. You just run the risk of losing bristles later.

That way when you’re cutting the bag it’s melting and sealing the bag together on either side as well as cutting a complete perfect line down the centre if you don’t hit the ninth to pay can’t melt and won’t steal you’ll have open packs.

    Wayback when, I cut down Ziploc bags to size and sealed
    Are them using a hot skewer. It worked… but I had to fiddle with it to make sure the seal worked. I didn’t use a hot knife, but that might have worked better personally using the 4 x 6 50 pack of small plastic bags from dollar tree has been really great.
    Thank you so much for the rest of the tips!

    I have always used hot vinegar to soak my crusty brushes in. I use a microwave safe container to heat the vinegar, heating it up every so often without the brush. Then if needed, use a copper wire dish scrubber on a scratch proof surface to remove stubborn paint bits, using a combing motion on the bristles. Just don't be overly aggressive as it can remove the bristles along with the paint. P.S. I worked for a wildlife artist for over 20 years and saw him doing this. Hope this helps.❤

    I knew about the glue stick trick but the cling wrap one, I thought you were suppose to put it on top of the napkin and then use the parchment paper and iron. That way it was sealed on top. I don’t think I ever saw anyone put it under the napkin. I’ll have to go back and see. Thank you Brandi for all that you do. I love it! You could make the glue dots ahead though and use them as molds. That could be cool.

  • @pdmullgirl
    @pdmullgirl Рік тому +1

    Hello! The ziplock bag trick works if you heat up your knife. That’s what creates the two bags from one. It melts in to and seals while it creates the bag. The hand sanitizer works but takes a while. Try taking a sheet of plastic wrap, squirt some hand sanitizer on it, put your brush in it and wrap it up. Let it sit over night. Then it should work. Good luck!

    The baggie hack you need to heat your knife over the stove. Then cut your baggie the hot knife will melt the baggie into 2 bags.❤

  • @catheytrimnal4126
    @catheytrimnal4126 Рік тому +9

    For the plastic bag hack, you are supposed to heat the knife before cutting through the bag. The hot knife is supposed to seal the edges of the bag so that it becomes two separate bags. The downside to that is that repeatedly heating your kitchen knife will cause it to lose its ability to stay sharp. So to save a few pennies on plastic bags you are essentially ruining a good kitchen knife. It would be cheaper to buy the snack size bags lol. Thank you for sharing these hacks, though. Some of them are very helpful! Love your channel and I think you are hilarious! 😂
