Difference between Piles, Fissures and Fistula ? Piles fistula and fissure are often confused for one another. While piles is swollen blood vessels surrounding the anal canal, fissure is a tear or crack in the tissue of the anus and fistula is an abnormal tunnel between the anus and the surrounding skin.
