BOEING 747 Packs off TAKEOFF. Max weight!! Closing the A/C packs increase engines power.
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- Air condition packs use to pressurize and control the temperature in the Airplane.
But ..the air flow for the packs comes from the engine compressors. taking this air from the engines, reducing max power available for takeoff.
On a very heavy TAKEOFF, when performances are limited,
A packs off takeoff might be needed
Must not forget to reopen packs after takeoff ...
Great takeoff and cockpit management by the F/O sh-ko
The old girl was indeed HEAVY - she took quite a bit of runway! Great video - thank you.
Indeed ☺️
Reduced power takeoff
Seemed like forever between the V1 and rotate call outs.
I like how slow and pronounced you speak to ATC! Many pilots speak like there is some sort of contest on who can read back the fastest.
agree with you 💯
@@CaptainBoeing - Always a safe, correct and clear communicator with traffic control. Smart pilot!
And all others on frequency.....!!
@@tintriangledriver210 - Yes, clear with everybody.
Love you always my safe pilot! Every takeoff, every landing, every day.
I also have to turn off the AC when facing steep up slopes with my old car! 😄
I was thinking the same thing. "Turbo" mode on my old Mazda 323 was turning off the AC while the car was accelerating. You could actually feel the car jerk forward a little with the boost in power.
I was fortunate. My first car was a 1974 Ford Custom 500. It was a PA state police car that was bought at auction by my neighbor. It was painted Grass Green and still had the spotlight mount on it. I bought it for $600. Everything worked incl A/C that I NEVER had to turn off..bc it had a 400 big block police interceptor motor. Plenty of HP to power anything needed! 😁
Alot going on in that takeoff! Got to keep focused
yes...i remember that situation well but with an electric car now it’s just a memory
@@patrickmollohan3082 I had a 1990 Caprice police car, GM actually put a switch on the gas paddle, when you floor it, it will disengage the AC
Love the point of view of the pilots. Videos like these helped me overcome my fear of flying.
Maybe walk to the Airport too as statically you're more likely to crash your car on the way to the Airport.
As a passenger, I love take offs and landings! Pilots that fly these aircraft impress me to no end!!
VERY Impressive! Seeing the end of the runway looming after the V-1 call makes this even more amazing to witness. Thanks for sharing this.
Outstanding to see two "Officers" who has each other back work in such beautiful concert together.. Bravo 👏👏
Just amazing. Never gets stale watching these cockpit videos. The knowledge and training you need is mind boggling. Not to mention the responsibility.. Great job. You guys are way underpaid. Only thing better is a shuttle launch
There are so many things. I can barely use the buttons in my Honda Accord.
“Michael Bruin :so many things”...to remember, too remember Michael...it appears you forgot to finish the sentence
The Wright Bothers would be amazed
yes but if you do this everyday for a job you get good at it. Practice makes perfect.
Avrei piacere Capitano conoscerla per parlare di una vita da pilota.Mirta Rovelli Lugano Svizzera
I just love the 747, in my opinion it is the most beautiful plane ✈️
It’s fascinating to watch the takeoff roll. Thanks guys 🙏
Sweet ride. The 747 is still the legend its always been 😍
i thought she was the queen of the skies-
Along with the MD-11, for me, are the mostly beautiful planes, ever
A beautiful aircraft inside and out! Its nice to see a crew work so well together.
Great video Captain! You guys were certainly at Max weight. The length of time between V1 and rotate seemed like eternity. Thanks for sharing. Blue skies my friend! ✈🛩🙏
I'm not a pilot. Always wanted to learn it but no money when I had the health and didn't want to go to the mililtary . These guys did a great job. Makes me wish I could be a pilot all the more, but I'm 68 y.o. and poor health. OH well. I watch it here.
I am 70 years old; Wanted to do this but not the money; I enjoy commenting; There are all kinds of study materials; When you get there if you could have you find 10 pounds of manuals and with experience it is found that they are very very useful
You can still buy a good computer and fly in a simmulator.
That Captain needs to get his hands the hell of the yoke. If you’re that nervous you shouldn’t be flying. It takes an instant to take control if need be, no need to ride the controls like that.
I love Captain Boeing's enthusiasm 😅 gear up!
No doubt about it.
These pilots, just like every other pilot, love their life to the fullest.
And I can understand them although I'm not a Boeing 747-400 pilot.
Unfortunately.
I can imagine that the love for flying, especially in the Boeing 747-400, is as important as the love for a woman who you love to the max and
unconditional.
Thumb up from The Netherlands.
Moroccan Amazigh.
It always amazes me the pilots knowledge of all those Instruments and buttons! Much much respect for them!!
Love to watch airplane flights. Always feel I am going somewhere with these videos. Nice to be alive in aviation technology.
Retired airline pilot here. That seems to be a very tense flight deck. Not sure that I’d like to be in the jump seat. Why are both crew handling the control column on departure? That certainly wasn’t a SOP in my airline. The PF flew the aircraft on climb out whilst their colleague was responsible for R/T, autopilot inputs etc. Just asking .....
It does make it appear like the F/O is on training wheels, doesn't it? Very odd.
@@AirrowRocket Not odd at all - the captain has to be satisfied that the aircraft is behaving as it should and that the control inputs are correct. At no time were the inputs of the FO over ridden.
@@johnmclean6498 Sit back and learn son.
If a pilot can’t fly the plane proficiently by themselves, they should be fired. A captain has to serve a higher function than holding his FO’s hands.
Was wondering the same. Im no lilot but it waa odd to see that
I love the procedures and handling of the controls on take off!
what i wouldn’t give to sit in the cockpit during takeoff. their knowledge of the instruments and al those dials ! Just so amazing!
747 /777 mx here ,i recommend going to a museum, to get a good look at a boeing flight deck, it's organized quite well , the newer boeing 777/787 are much cleaner and neater much less switches and toggles
Yes, that's correct
Wonderful videos! Enjoy them very much! Thank you for posting. You truly are a professional of the skies
No, he really isn’t. Just has an ego the size of Texas and doesn’t know the first damn thing about leadership.
I just wanted you to know that how much I enjoy watching your videos!...Richard
👍
Hands down probably the best camera angles I've ever seen on a flight deck and I've watched hundreds of hours of flight deck videos! Insanely immersive! Great work!
Very professional, gentlemen.
AWESOME 👍👍👍🙏🙏THANKS FOR POSTING! You guys are my heroes
Such a beautiful view from the flight deck! Was really astounded by the quality of the filming and the sounds (especially with headphones). Really made me feel like I was sitting in that jumpseat, I could watch this hours upon end in a state of awe.
Great flying with coordination and and total situational awareness.
Captain...love your vids!!! I have had a bad flying experience 1953. Never been on a plane since. But...watching these is amazing!!!
1953...???... Flying safety &technology has improved a lot since then as you can tell in this video. I suggest you give it another try.
I think it's cool the pilots get all those TVs to play video games on.
Beautiful Ride, Gentlemen..!!!! My compliments to ALL who made this video superb ~ Kudos🇺🇸
👍✈
That is an OBSCENE amount of switches, knobs, dials, turny things, screens, pulleys, buttons 😳 pretty sure I'd sit there frozen from anxiety
Most of it is a duplicate , in case one fails
hello Captain, what a takeoff, as usual, that was done expertly...they don't come better than you and your crew, Captain. thank you for sharing your expertise with us..
You welcome my dear friend
Hi Captain. This camera angle was really awesome 👏 I felt like I was standing right behind you and experiencing what the speed of a takeoff is really like✈️...and seeing the ground in front of you just disappearing...further and further...so amazing 🤩
Thanks again for another terrific video ❤️😊
😊
😊
Thanks for your love and support
@@johntravolta2004 This is a 747 channel, not a 707 channel you wimp.

Its my dream to be in the cockpit of a jet during take off ❤️❤️❤️. Love these videos and this channel.
Thank you 😊
Get your hands off that yoke Captain!
One of the best cockpit video i have ever seen. The angle and resolution combination is very unique and feels like sitting right in the middle of the pilots.. Plz make more such videos. Thanks very much.
Good morning captain, fabulous take off and cockpit view..looked like nice weather for a smooth flight ..have a great weekend!

Beautiful to watch!! Such power!
What about the planet though?
How funny, I recognized the controllers voice. EBLG my homebase for 15 years. :-)
You are a mensch, @Captain Boeing. I am a fan.
These men plan on living a long time----very alert, serious, and professional with that MASSIVE load and huge aircraft.
That amount of power most people will never understand
Nice sharing Captain
I'm enjoying the flight video
Captain Boeing preparing for what he loves to do best, soar high in the heavens with a very capable First Officer making that heavy takeoff look easy and effortless.
At last! Someone who knows what they're talking about. Many comments that there were two pilots!
I love to listen to you speak, so clearly. I watched all the videos especially the educational ones. Keep those coming please.
.
Thank you 😊
Nice video!
What a grown up 747 airline and SOP. They let the First Officer taxi and set takeoff thrust!
Very impressive. I've had a experience flying in 747-800 series.. it's aowsom... 747 is my dream aircraft... Pilot's were looking great. Keep it up guys💖👍
no such thing as a 747-800...
Thanks for correcting me it was 747-400 👍 (my mistake)
I rode jump seat many times on Super G Connie when my father was captain for Eastern. Those were the days!
Awesome plane!!!!!
Crazy how gradually it accelerates from a stop at wide open throttle, he hammered down and it was just creeping along.
Part of that is an optical illusion; that cockpit is a long ways off the ground. The other part is that they're trying to get 900,000 pounds airborne so acceleration was indeed a bit lame.
Fantastic hand flying
Great pilots and a super plane. 👍🍀🌻🌞🙋♂️
That girl was heavy indeed! Very nice video, thanks 👍🏻
I admire your professionalism. Beautiful job!
There’s no “professionalism” demonstrated here - only piss poor CRM skills and a captain’s ego the size of Texas. This dude is dangerous.
Wow Captain....Hello! Amazing inside the cockpit....great flight!
Many thanks for your energy Captain;) Lovely weekend and
warm greetings from the Netherlands!......Betsy.
Mazda MX-5 owners have been using this tactic since the beginning 😆
I can verify that reply
Who the fuck wants to own an MX-5 ??
Anyone who knows anything about sports cars would want an Mx5.
@@stevejones1318 I agree, manual MX-5s in particular are the only choice.
WOW!! roaring down the runway...nice smooth gentle takeoff...hope you are fine my friend..

I can only imagine what it must feel like to control that much power...
Kinda surprised how much they man-handle the switch’s and knobs, guess I’am used to cars where they break off in your hand....lol
Excellent work gentlemen.

Congratulations on making the most terrifying video I have ever seen!!!
The flashing instruments added to the terror. My stomach was in a knot. I almost puked.
Never getting in an airplane again!
Without a doubt... the best airplane video ever! But no more flying for me!
Beautiful!
Excellent 👍
Thank.pacoff takeoff,boing 747.thaks.super.beutiful love.for pilot👍🙏🤔
I love that y'all hand flew the aircraft instead of flicking the autopilot on at 800ft or something.
Really best videos for you captain... thank you
E sempre un'emozione vedervi bravi💋❤️
Awesome! Thank you for sharing.
Marvelous machine!!
This is just brilliant. Thank you!
The Captain hovers his hands over the yoke, even though he is not 'pilot flying'.
Not gonna lie, I didn’t think you’d even have to consider a packs-off takeoff in a 747, just because the old heavy is somewhat limited by what airports it can operate into and out of. Very cool to watch one in action. Thank you for sharing.
too short !the video , but very very good !!!!! thank you very much
That bird ate up a lot of runway. Great video!
loooong run on rwy 22L. Boeing 747 is indeed a beauty!
Throwing out a few of the passengers also increases takeoff performance, but whatever. I guess turning off the packs and opening all the windows works for you guys.
very nice take-off and highly professional. Why did the captain tap the FO hand on the throttles as they were rolling onto the runway?
It's like the pilot won't let the co-pilot fly the plane by himself
really enjoyed this video. you guys are cool as a cucumber getting the ole' girl in the air. thank u for sharing.
Damn that’s one heavy bird
Wow! That was fun!
Nice job gentleman! Silver Eagle Omaha

No, he’s really not. You obviously don’t know much about “CRM” or effective leadership. None of the two were demonstrated here whatsoever. 🤦🏻♂️
