Thank you Mark! Beautiful photography, actually made me cry. I'm a first class machinest, CAD/CAM programmer. I drew, programmed and machined parts for the A-10. This and the B1 Lancer are my favorite jets. I wanted to be a pilot. I went to college for aeronautical engineering but couldn't afford the flight time. Back then it was only $20k. Great video! It is fascinating to see how much is involved in preparing an aircraft for takeoff. Oh, and that Black Mamba livery kicks. And... oh wow, the visibility out of that cockpit is amazing. What a beautiful design.

Great video of inside cockpit action. I'm an old weapons troop, retired MSgt. First saw two A-10s fly when I was at Ready Eagle school Langley AFB Va. in 1977. Yeah, brand new A-10s then. Put on a show for the brass, I was like holly cow, like radio controlled airplanes, snap turns etc. Back then they were for the Cold War with USSR Russia, the wall not tore down yet, tank killers. Finally got to work on them at DM, well sort of, I was a Weapons Flight Chief. Got to watch them close up a Gila bend gunnery range once. I retired just as Kuwait deployments began. Awesome video! My 8 year old son and I were right in front of the plane during the start up and waited for her to land. My son talked to Lindsay twice earlier in the day, and after she landed and came over to the fence where everyone was watching, she saw my son and walked right up to him first to talk to him again. Such a cool experience, and Lindsay was awesome taking time to talk to him. We’ve seen the A-10’s several times, and it’s sad to know this was the last time we’d see them fly. It’s cool to have your video, along with the ones I took, as a memory of the day. As a side note, I noticed you videoing that day, but had no idea I was watching one of my favorite UA-camrs making a video I’d watch a couple of weeks later.
That’s so cool! I just sent MAD a screen shot of your comment and she knew exactly who y’all were! So glad that you liked the video and the teams demonstration in Midland
@@ErikJohnston, thanks for letting us know she remembered us! I was really impressed by her public relations skills, besides her obvious flying talent. The show was well worth the 5+ hours drive to see the A-10’s one last time. Keep up the good work putting out great videos. You do a great job!

Amazing aircraft.
I worked for Fairchild in the late 80s. I proceeded the aluminum skins and miscellaneous aluminum parts for the A-10 Warthog. I’ve seen live combat action videos how this aircraft saved many infantry units bacon. When the pilot pulls the trigger on the Gatling Gun something is going to get destroyed. BUUUUUURRRRRR Enough Said! Thank you for your service keeping this 68yr old man safe!
I almost made it to that show, but had another trip I had to make. Very upset that I didn't get to see this magnificent plane in action just one last time.

The sound the A10 makes when it does a flyby overhead….. because you entered a restricted bombing area in the Chesapeake outside of Norfolk…..is amazing. Next time I’ll pay attention to the lower level zoom on the chart plotter a bit more carefully 😂
Im Old. First time I saw a A10 up close was in 1977 . I had flown over to Yakama to the Fireing Center, to down load troops flying in on C130's from Fort Lewis going to war game in the desert there. Between planes we would just hang around the dirt strip. I had to use the can so I walked up a small rise on the side of the strip just in time for an A10 to come up over that hill about 40 feet over my head, I saw him, he saw me, I fell on my back, wet myself, I think he pulled up laughing maybe, but it left an impression on me. 😊
Incredible footage!! Sad to see this plane retire….it has such a heritage and unique mission set, something the F35 will never quite emulate. Thanks for sharing!

That thing truly is amazing even to this day and by current standards. There's a reason these are still used regardless of their age now, an amazingly remarkable aircraft. I would have loved to watch it land here, not sure why everything was included except that. Great video though!. My concern with retiring this aircraft is, how will its replacement do when it comes back home full of holes looking like Swiss cheese like the Warthog has so many times?
As an Aeroscout Aviator I used to plan, coordinate and run Joint Air Attack Team (JAAT) missions with A-10s and sometimes, artillery. I personally witnessed the accuracy the Warthog pilots can achieve, not just with their Avenger cannons, but with their "dumb bombs". I would give them a target and it wasn't much effort for them to actually land one right on top of a target. IMHO, the Thunderbolt II was and still i the best CAS aircraft bar none. As a former Paratrooper, it saddens me that the "fighter jockeys" who are running the USAF have needlessly put the lives of the current and future generations of Combat Soldiers with their decision to retire the A-10 without first fielding a suitable replacement. =(

Very unique aircraft. No 2-seat version so the pilot's first flight is solo. No relief tube, so cross country (or ocean) flights require a diaper. No weight-on-wheels (WOW) switch, so the pickle button is always hot.
We didn’t use a diaper. We used what we called “piddle packs,” a plastic bag with a dehydrated sponge which then expanded when used. I used to throw them out at the end of the runway. 😂
