The Excalibur is a real juggernaut in the star trek Armada 3 mod. Even if unsupported for some reason it can hold off a fleet long enough for reinforcements
I've always found the Excalibur class an interesting ship. I like how the nacelles are Sovereign class in style. Not only that but the way how their melded to each other like that. I agree that ship has to have more than one bridge. Maybe two regular bridges in case the main one is severely damaged and has to be evacuated. As well as a battle bridge in case both main bridges are too damaged during an attack. I agree the Excalibur is the winner here. Especially as you said how hard it was to defeat it when you were the Jem'hadar Battleship.
It seems like there aren't any observation windows on the forward-facing quarter of the saucer section. That would make perfect sense for a ship that has been designed with ramming as a contingency measure in mind as you definitely wouldn't like to have any crew quarters, important stations or vital systems in those areas most likely to fall victim to a collision. Maybe that forward-facing rim of the saucer is mainly just reinforced bulk ? If the Excalibur should happen to be stolen one day, we all know the Klingon who'll be the prime suspect. But unlike the Odyssey, there's no space wasted on pointless open necks or stupid little corvettes that are too big to be expendable, but too small to make any kind of difference in a fight. It doesn't dick around with gimmicky nonsense like "multi-vector assault mode", nor does it lose focus trying to fill 15 different operational roles at once. It's just a solidly-built, highly capable Federation battleship, a "dreadnought" in the truest sense of the term.

That Jem'Hadar battleship is not really meant for ship to ship combat, it is a siege weapon for use against things like stations and planetary bombardment.
