I live in Albuquerque New Mexico and i want to make a small boat like this to just cruise up and down the rio grande... Its not a very big or wide river here and its pretty shallow and the sand bars are constantly changing... I was just wondering... Is the largest gas motor that they sell at Harbor freight big enough? I believe its 750 cc..
Absolutely not. Harbor freight motors are what 22 horsepower? You're going to need a minimum of a Lycoming O360 to get this kind of performance... That's 180 horsepower.... If it were me I would be looking at a O540 six cylinder aircraft engine
@@erod4489 you don't want to buy it anyways in Ocala.... He even said it won't run dry ground with 94 horsepower on a VW.... You need to up your game to a four cylinder aircraft

Cool boat but likes to slip a lot. Gotta be very proactive on the speed and throttle in a turn for sure.
It's a lot of fun sliding like that. But you have to look ahead and plan the maneuvers in advance.
