I don't know why more people don't just record into the device like you're supposed to. You're missing out on half the vibe converting samples in an app. I know its crazy to use a sampler to sample buuuut.....

@@ApolloJetsonKND that's nuts considering you can get that from the new MPCs. Not sampling your sounds into the 3K is effectively nerfing it. Sad to see

I get sampling the loops and sounds, but sampling the drums into it every time is very time intensive. This is what I've been doing so far though.

    • @Craftmaster3

@@ppic7162 well you sample drums and save them on removable storage. You only have to sample something once.

    • @ppic7162

@@Craftmaster3 That is the only way that I can keep drums and samples now. Files that I convert with Wavesound will save but they won't reopen. So every single sound is sampled now. I just have to remember to turn up the record level so that the signal is clipping a little bit. To my ears it sounds better that way.

In 2016 I paid $1200 for my MPC-3000LE (#0538) and put another $500 into installing extra RAM, personalized Vailixi OS chips, SCSI card reader, SCSI convertor card, blue LED screen, all black buttons, all blue LEDs, aluminum indented data entry knob (like a 2000XL knob), and fat pads. I love it! 🤓

Love seeing people cherishing these. I produced hundreds of tracks on mine back in the day for our generation coming through, and you don't lose that muscle memory of workflow. Unpopular opinion but the vast majority of producers are better served using more modern gear, and inside the box, and will have better careers because of it. Where these legacy units become amazing is to truly understand how the workflow led to tracks being written a certain way, which I encourage new producers to experience. It will make them understand and love our old beats even more. Absolutely iconic stuff. Well done on the find!

Nothing but pads are on the right side. Sound is same 16 bit as that bs 3k. If you want color sound, get a 60 or 60 II. 3k is nothing but an overrated 16 bit sampler that cant read wav files. @matthewgaines10 Рік тому

I’ll second that. Buying vintage MPCs and synths are for those that know or those who know somebody that knows. These things are going to need buttons, pads, keys, screens, and capacitors eventually. You need to be able to do the work or have a trusted source who can do the work. You’ll likely spend more than the purchase price bringing them back to full glory. If the goal is making music, there are easier ways to do it. If you got skills in both music and electronics, vintage may be up your alley.
