You gotta add a little spice to life right? This type of stuff keeps me outta trouble with The Devil. The new MPCs are boring. It like having a DAW in a box. No character.
I know right. People are tired of me telling that story. And especially being from Chicago. No one here cared about the culture like that. They only wanted to hear the gangsta side of Hip Hop.
It was 1995. This is from wikipedia. "Me Against the World is the third studio album by American rapper 2Pac. It was released on March 14, 1995". You probably got a bootleg early. It was a great album none the less. I liked Pac better before the crazy Death Row days.
No way in h.e double hockey sticks will I spend 4k on that Roger Linn bs. 2000 Classic is perfect for me. wav files. Digit and data wheel. Graphic interface. Nothing but pads are on the right side. Sound is same 16 bit as that bs 3k. If you want color sound, get a 60 or 60 II. 3k is nothing but an overrated 16 bit sampler that cant read wav files. But you are right about using wtf inspires you.
It's personal preference at this point. I like the 3000 better. I definitely like it better than the 2000 and 2000xl. The MPC 60 and 60 II cost just as much for a good one. 12bit is a little crunchy for my big ears. Who knows, I might get bored and buy one them and hide it in the basement so The Devil doesn't find out.
Don't buy used equipment unless you have it thoroughly checked out. Even the repair tech shouldn't be trusted. . I bought two drum machine a 3000 and 60 and had to replace both screens , disk drive, and pads and the soundboard. If you don't know anything about repair don't do it. Buy something new ..
I’ll second that. Buying vintage MPCs and synths are for those that know or those who know somebody that knows. These things are going to need buttons, pads, keys, screens, and capacitors eventually. You need to be able to do the work or have a trusted source who can do the work. You’ll likely spend more than the purchase price bringing them back to full glory. If the goal is making music, there are easier ways to do it. If you got skills in both music and electronics, vintage may be up your alley.

@@Bignoiseradio Oh yeah, for 15 years, with some breaks in the middle. I made a wack album in early 2010s with some Chicago rappers. Once my business took off I took a break. You need some Chicago swing. I don't really make the trap beats that are so popular right now. But, I do a little something.
LMAO! Yo I’m 18 seconds in and I’m cracking up. I don’t know what you’re about to say but I do agree with one thing….
THE CHAMP IS HERE!
Ok so I’m walking through the vid with you…
.snd file issues? That’s just you being lazy. None of your heroes gave a 🤬 about a
.snd file.
Wifey thing is real.
Double pad tap is not because it’s old but because it’s new (pad sensors have been replaced incorrectly.
(Like I did on my black LE)
Get a new sensor and install it BY THE LETTER! No short cuts! Or work around it (like me no biggie)
When sampling, pull out your phone stopwatch and time that sample. If it’s 6.4 seconds then set the MP accordingly.
Timesaver fo sho!
Sampling from computer?
Eq with mids up a little going in.
Filters will love you for it!
Bro I appreciate you. I used to collect all the Scratch magazines back in 04-07. Went to full sail university in 06 n used to read bout gear all the time couldn’t afford it then. But the info was invaluable. I had everyone, but lost all my stuff when I went to military. Is there anyway you could mail me any duplicates you may have of magazine? Been tryna find any of them but no luck.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I only have doubles for 3. You can go on ebay and find all of them. www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=scratch+magazine+hip+hop&_sop=12
@@ppic7162 thanks bro a lil expensive but none the less worth it. Appreciate u 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
Congratulations
Good video my dude!
Short answer.
Yes.
I’m in Chicago too. If you got OS 3.08 or 3.11 I can show you everything on it!
Chi town stand up! I got 3.50 Valixi. I figured out mostly everything on it. I've had a year and a half. I appreciate the offer.
Cool! I had yo go back to my 3K to do a joint yesterday
Ngl always wanted a 3k but the more I research it, I’m looking at it like an old Porsche. yeah that was the dream… *drives off in a new Hell Cat* 😅
Different strokes right. I have an older Porsche so you know how I feel. ua-cam.com/video/bNpfgD1gsSo/v-deo.html
I am surprised the Zone is bring used.
Being
No. Too big, heavy, limited and expensive, but it IS a beautiful machine.
I feel you bro. I got the One, a 404mk2, a Smpltrek, and the MPC2500. For some reason the 2500 is really a prized piece for me. There’s just something about these beastly machines.
I might try that one once I get tired of the 3000. I think the sweet spot for old and new might be the MPC 4000.
@@ppic7162 The 4K is the best of the classics in my opinion. I used the 3K for 8 years in a pro studio and hated it greatly! too limiting to me and once I got the XL never looked back. MPC's i've owned are 60 MK1, 2KXL, 4K, 2500LE. I ditched them all and Kept the only two I've ever liked which are the 4K and 2KXL which i still use to this day.
Back in 06 I used to dream about having a 2500 because I had the 500 😂. The 2500 is a dope machine along with the 1000
@@LowKeyPorter yes the 2500 is dope also. It gets the same love that the 4K gets which is not much and I have no clue as to why 🤣🤣
@@SoundstarMusic was running a 1k and 25k in tandem until recently. I was tempted with a 4k but went for an X instead.
How much did you pay?
Those bottom pad doubling sounds like a sensitivity issue that should be able to be corrected through the mpcc 3000's settings.
J dilla shout out to him rip
Why did I sell ALL my 4 3ks? I mean I bought them all for the gang excluding one for me but WHY DID I SELL MY 3k?
You guessed right. My EX WIFE stressed so hard about money and I got very sick at a time and it came all down to the money...................... LIve2Retro surprised me in its own way. I come from the FL gang to the Akai gang and the live was like these two had a baby Moses*!
Like put it in a basket and down the river and let queen find it.... Strange example but so is life.
This was the way we all felt when we had a 3k! You matched it on the spot. Sorry for the little ugly points ( my 3k was a fresh out of the box backup uint bought at a studio sell in NY for $800! Yes NY city! Clearance sell--- )
Congrats bro! Legendary machine ♥
Can we get some updates ? Some tutorials?
We need them we need young relatable videos for the kids buying these machines
Can you help with our learning curve
lol at suge's man basically elbowing suge in the face as they leaving
Danny Boy was way too hyper to get on stage. "I ain't mad atcha" Danny Boy.
It’s nice to have, but definitely not needed
My first and only mpc is the renaissance. I wouldn't mind having the mpc one or live though.
The renaissance is just a controller not a standalone.
@@billB101 exactly! If I'm on my laptop using the mpc software anyway it's good for me. I export the stems to my daw for mixing.
@@itzdm0r3 Yeah but the software doesn't have the same feel as the standalone MPC's IMO. I bought the Studio Black after owning quite a few MPC's over the years and sent it back after a week.
@@billB101 it would be interesting to see a blind test but if I had the cash I would try a 3000.
Did you get one with the expansion board installed? Couldn’t see the back panel well enough.
I don't see any empty spots on the back. I didn't think these had an expansion board other than the vga expansion for a monitor.
@@ppic7162 i was thinking of the the mpc2000 which needed the expansion board for the 8 analog outs. 👍
Yo. Was thinking about this topic being it’s @ “Tax Season” thanks
Top Authority, Boss and Dayton Family.
I got a 4000. I still want 3000
Sounds of software or new mpc never reach the mpc 3000 hardware!! Punch of mpc 60 and mpc 3000 are too particular to be redone with filter and vst. Same thing 4 SP1200.... 😎🔥✌️
Do you think 3000 has the best sound? I have X and i would like to know about dac converters differences
I like yer style. Subbing!
The answer to this question is no because they're absurdly overpriced.
Happy for you Paris!!!🎉
Appreciate it.
4000 is where it’s at! Lol ;)
So funny, i also had to hide mine from my wify until she just noticed it in my studio.
Wanted to ask, do you still have the original
Arm and side panels? If yes, do you like to sell it?
I bought it like this. Man those are going to be hard to find right now. Did you try syntaur.com/ or mpcstuff already? I can't even find transport buttons.
@@ppic7162 ahh okok, I thought i heard you say something about buying the wood panels.
Mine also came with the wood. I actually spoke with Jazzcat who is the EU Forat of old machines and he wrote me back today saying he might be able to fins sum.
Regarding transport buttons, ive seen few cats making it themselves with a 3D printer. Look pretty solid.
@@intr0beatz If you get a line on the transport buttons let me know.
She’s a keeper
Without even watching the video, Y E S!!!
DOPE VIDEO!!!!!
I'M still waiting on my mpc 3000 I got all the sounds from it on wav file.
Beautiful
i really want one of these!
There is not a year ahead of us that you should not buy a MPC3000 ...
You gotta add a little spice to life right? This type of stuff keeps me outta trouble with The Devil. The new MPCs are boring. It like having a DAW in a box. No character.
@@ppic7162 Yup Yup! Aint no thang like that MP3K Swang!
It’s sound not send for the (snd) file bruh
I shot that part 4 or 5 times. I just gave up. My mind can't wrap around sound vs send for snd for some reason.
I love it but it’s to expensive 😅wow u was in the middle history 😮😮😮the source award that’s when hip hop was fresh and pure own by the black man
I know right. People are tired of me telling that story. And especially being from Chicago. No one here cared about the culture like that. They only wanted to hear the gangsta side of Hip Hop.
White man built the software and hardware. Cry later.
@@ppic7162😂😂😂big respect ✊ to you bro my wife would go crazy if I buy one of those MPC 3000 because they waaay to expensive nowadays
Me Against The World was 1994
It was 1995. This is from wikipedia. "Me Against the World is the third studio album by American rapper 2Pac. It was released on March 14, 1995". You probably got a bootleg early. It was a great album none the less. I liked Pac better before the crazy Death Row days.
You should buy me one
Hold up you talkin about Top Authority they are from my hometown Flint Michigan! WOW what do you know about Top authority my Brother 🤣
Ha, Top Authority went hard in the Chi. The Dayton Family, Top Authority, Mc Breed and the DFC. I glad others recognized their greatness.
But you are right about using wtf inspires you.
lol, true
It's personal preference at this point. I like the 3000 better. I definitely like it better than the 2000 and 2000xl. The MPC 60 and 60 II cost just as much for a good one. 12bit is a little crunchy for my big ears. Who knows, I might get bored and buy one them and hide it in the basement so The Devil doesn't find out.
i got a Moog
I got the Moog subsequent 25 for Father's Day. Programming sounds is way harder than it sounds. And I got tired of the presets real quick.
