Okay the revamped cities were incredible already but the little lore dumps on the side?? Absolute golden cherry on top, the mods knocked this out of the park
There is one thing I truly miss in TWW and its from 3 Kingdoms. And that is how alive the campaginmap was. Build a farm, and Cows showed up on the map, peasants used the roads to deliver said cows to the provincial capital, and than a caravan brought them to the actual captial of your realm from were they were send to trade partners. Build a garrisons, and Watchtowers were build along the roads with soldiers keeping watch on them, and other soldiers patrolling between settlemets. It really made me stop playing from time to time, and just watch my small kingdom....well...live. Now I know we will never get something like this for TWW since so much work would be needed to do this for all the races...but damn. With mods like this, dynamic world etc it would just be sooo beautiful.... And Warhammer 3s map is dropdead gorgeous. But even with the beasts and all the little details they added...it just dosen´t feel lived in. The Roads are there, but always empty. The Sea has als those little islands/event thingys, and here and there a leviathan and an army, but there is no trade, no nothing. Imagine Dwarf settlements with all the towers and bridges in the mountains, and dwarfs actually patrolling them, when they control the settlement said towers belong to. Or Orks for that matter. The roads of the Empire filled with merchants. Yeah now im dreaming again...
It's a lot easier for Three Kingdoms to do that. Every culture is the same. A farm in Liu Bei's faction is the same farm as in Lu Bu's. In Warhammer, there are dozens of different cultures, each one with their unique assets. Adding flavorful details as you develop your provinces is nice, but it means that you have to make such details for every faction, and make it fit in well. That is a gigantic amount of work. CA opted to make corruption the element that would affect the map's appearance. Personally, I think it was the better place to put their efforts in.
I honestly hope. CA is taking notes from modders. That they go through the workshop to see whats trending and popular and write it down on a list to add in ther next games
nah dude, if there is a mod then its free to subscribe, they cant sell that so they wont bother, its just how business works and CA is heavy on profits
@@wendigo7176 It's not what I'm saying dude. I'm saying their games or future games can be better if they actually learned from what modders made. Even getting the modders on a team to actually help make the game better. Some companies have hired modders before to make games better.
@@NordicJarl27agreed. I think one of the greatest challenges for any developer like CA is talent acquisition/retention. Another mod that should have been a part of the base game, too bad back when CA was doing award winning games like hyenas instead of making sure cash cow is staying healthy
Another home run for the OVN team. This is funny i was just on their steam page wondering what was next. These are the only mods i use consistently. I love mods like this one. In WH2 most of the times I used unique faction capitals mod. Also enjoyed other little things like faction dependent loading screens or legendary lore. I guess a I should take a closer look in the WH3 workshop.
im using the dynamic settlements mod as well because it look weird when i capture a settlement with demons like tzeentch and it remains like a standard empire city, with the mod it actually transforms it to a tzeentch city and it looks even cooler with the corruption
This is the sort of thing that content creators should use their communities to push to being integrated into the base game (the same way that CA worked with modders to add new MP maps for MP battles)

Like the idea of the mod but if its a visual mod - it should be just a visual mod - I dont want them changing minor factions, renaming provinces or renaming and redesigning visuals for actual faction icons adding that sort of stuff in serves no purpose other than just making changes for no reason

Any idea if it is SFO Compatible ?
thanks as always!
If only CA didn't waste any money on Hyenas and Executuves
The re-designed Altforf makes so much more sense why it can be attacked from the North over the river.
i dont say that often about a mod BUT: that should be in vanilla
I was just about to say that as well :D

basically every total war had that especially older ones like medieval 2 and shogun 2
Here's hoping modders keep working on the game for a few years after CA abandons it so that we may get such stuff

I remember there being a mod similar to this back in warhammer 2, glad to see a mod like that back.
GCCM for Wh2 was great. Some of the GCCM settlement models are now in the OvN Lost World mod, too! :D
GCCM was amazing!
It feelt so good to grew your capital with that mod, glad to see it back!
Yesss finally !
yeah, so glad that gccm is available in wh3 now.

Oh how I’ve been waiting for a mod like this. Thank you
Just seen this on the workshop. LOOKS great!
Thanks TGBG! Peace from Canada!
I love must have mods, especially when Nathan tells me to get it.
Love the lore blurbs, one of my fav features of Medieval 2 mods like Third Age or BOTET were faux settlement buildings with a lore descr on the area

I've never clicked on subscribe so fast, downloading this now, thank you to the OVN team!
Seeing altdorf and middenheim on the map hurts... Man i miss GCCM battle maps in 2. There were so many special maps for settlements...
The mod is back from what I understand, I don’t know if it has everything it did but I’ve played with it a bit in custom battles and it’s really fun!
I would love if there was a tilean conversion for skavenblight like how dawi settlements used to work for the orks.
There is a cleansed version for when non-skaven factions take it
Thanks for recommending this mod it looks incredible and will certainly add a lot more depth and immersion to the campaign!

A fine addition to my collection.
Can't wait to try this when I get home.

CA could implement this mod into the base game like when they added the island maps for 'naval' combat and gave the modders credit.
Amazing stuff. Thanks for sharing!
I have been waiting for so long for something like this 😩
What droughts, we just got a DLC 😂
Does this work eith the mod that replaces cities so they look like they belong to the actual race that currently hilds them?
Amazing! Now the Warhammer world can feel more like how it should rather than how it does in vanilla.
Fantastic mod, tf High Elves minor faction do in the Bay of Blades though?

For me it was the progresion difren icon in bilding.
Really hope this gets ported over to the Old World mod, I love that map but it's really lacking on flavor and little details and this would be a huge improvement
the sheer disappointment though when you go into an actual battle on one of these cities :D
I’ve noticed that at some point the settlements stopped changing skins between races.
I am not a mod guy but this looks fabulous. If it doesn't kill performance or come with a host of bugs, I would get it for sure.
OH MY GOSH THIS LOOKS AWESOME
Thanks for the video
now all we need is to have custom battle maps of all the big capitals
There is a mod for that, I believe it’s called GGCM
Greate mod!
I even saw it on oder social media
the only thing im worried about is the fps drop on campaign map since there's more stuff on the map to be loaded.
Wow. Now pair it with GCCM/unique siege maps and it's perfect.
Yeaa, what happened to GCCM, is it still active?

Does it also alter the battle maps? Or change the skin when another race occupies a settlement?
Isn't that basicly GCCM brancg remcreated? Some odels look familiar.
I hope there's an SFO compatibility for this.
Why are some new city skins not showing up?
When he says lack of immersion. He means lack of effort on CA part
Actually looks really noice!

Yea, but the immersion is shattered when you start a siege battle on a map that doesn't look anything like what's portrayed on the world map anyway.
