This group is 100% acapella. No one can beat Boys II Men, but Home Free did it justice. It was a gamble to cover such an iconic song, but they did it well. You could go through their list and pick any song for spectacular vocals and great entertainment. I do understand what you said. Some songs are difficult to cover, but all things considered, they did a good job with it. Don't give up on 'em!
In terms of 'covers' for End Of The Road... They definitely have one of the better ones. Boyz II Men as a group of FOUR were just absolutely incredible... So it's just an impossibly hard song for other groups to compete especially in the R&B domain lol. If you haven't already heard of these guys, there is a group that can definitely do Boyz II Men covers justice. They're called Ahmir.... Unfortunately, their group is not fully intact anymore. I used to feel the same way. Then I listened to some of their other songs. And a year or so later listened to this one again. And then again. I like when singers do a song their own way instead of trying to sound like the original. I live Dolly Parton's version of I Will Always Love You. I remember when Dolly did the song in 1974. I also absolutely love Whitney Houston's cover. Dolly wrote the song.
Stevie, hold on sweetie, you're about to get your 'chicken' as you call it....but you gonna get the 'chicken, feathers and the bones, just wait, you won't be disappointed'!!!! Lol You should seriously listen to their whole catalog, when you get time, with no interruptions. They are EXTREMELY TALENTED men. #KNIGHTNATION #HOMEFREE #HOMEFRY
Whenever Home Free covers a song they do the original justice while making their creation their own. They don't just attempt a precise imitation of the original. I sometimes prefer their rendition, though the originals remain classic. I'd point to their cover of John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads" as an example. But we all have our preferences...no right or wrong to it.
Would love to see you react to Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust (their most well known song and the music video got voted as the best Finnish music video ever back in 2006 when the song was released). Truly an underrated band from here in Finland. Also a band with many different sounds all the way from slow melodic songs to full on rock. Although if you want to immediately hear a song that showcases how crazy good the lead singer Marko Saaresto's voice can be (and while his vocal range might not be the most dynamic out there he is an amazing example of what you can achieve by having absolutely perfect control of your vocals especially the raw emotion that his voice is able to convey) then i recommend listening to their song Daze. His vocals on the chorus are something out of this world. I just think that so many more people would love their music if they just ever heard them but since their from Finland it rarely happens. Although many have heard their songs in Remedy's video games Max Payne 2, Alan Wake, Quantum Brake and Control (Also every single reactor i have seen reacting to them has been pretty much blown away by their music so i'm very confident you'll like it) also... also... lot's of deep and meaningful lyrics and wordplay in their songs sorry for the long rant i just really want more people to know about them :D
As we know..No one can compare to the BOYZ...BUT I will give credit when credit is due and Home Free did an excellent job..Because it dam sure is not easy trying to compare the two that is for sure. Great reaction and thank ya being real.
I can see your point, Just wanna say comeing from someone that never listen too boys 2 men hearing home free song got me curious. Kinda a gateway effect. Try home free when a man loves a women.
Nothing beats Boys 2 Men for sure. Especially if you were listening in the 90s. I have to say one redo of a 90s song that i didn't expect to like is No Diggity by Chet Faker. I was really surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did.
I think you may have missed the point; they are not trying to copy/mimic B2M, (that would be pointless), and I could tell you were waiting/listening to see if they did! They took an absolute classic, made it their own and with a modern twist! Was done respectfully with a tip of the hat to the original. Loved it.
I met Wanya in a Circuit City here in Richmond VA back in the early 90s hours before their concert. His 900-pound bodyguard was very intimidating, but I said hi and he responded. That being said, these guys are great, but they don't put that heart or "stank" in the song as they did. Wanya was one of a kind back then and even when I went to a concert in the 2010s they still killed it. Mad props to this group, but they are not quite good enough to do this song justice, IMHO. Edit: Listen to the OG right after this. ua-cam.com/video/Y-MqWjqYD0U/v-deo.html
I get you, man. There are some cover groups/songs that will never measure up to the original artists. I'll agree that B2M sang this song much better. I like Home Free's cover but for different reasons. It's just impressive to me that they are able to make all the music vocally. Great singers in their own right as well.
I agree. I am a fan of these guys, and they are exceptionally talented. The performance is great technically, but vanilla compared to the original. They aren't giving the power and heat of the original. However, I also think they weren't trying to compete with BIIM. They are from a different genre of music. I think they just wanted to pay homage to a classic song.
As an acapella group they kinda have to start mild and finish big otherwise it all sounds the same. With instruments you can vary the intensity more than you can with just your voice. Thats why Rob waited until the end to really dig in. :) Great reaction tho. I totally get what you were saying but its really hard to beat Boys 2 Men. I Remember when this song came out too. It was huge! It was the one song that got everyone on the dance floor at our 6th grade dance lol.
"Random looking group". That made me smile. Yes, they are, actually. Except, they have higher Q's than most all singers. I then watched as you watched the "original". To be honest, I didn't see, or hear, a huge difference at all, except for the personal tone of the tenor singer. I thought the background singing may have been even better from HF!
I am not saying, they are better than the original, Boyz2Men were my favorite group growing up, BUT I would not go so far as to say that they do not hold a candle, this is the best cover I have heard of this song by far...
I believe it's really all about personal preference... And let me add another important thing too... The sound system in which one is listening it through... I've heard Boys to Men through my experience headphones and sound system separately and Home Free BOTH under the same conditions ... I find them equal... I dunno, man it's all 👍 good here.

I sometimes prefer their rendition, though the originals remain classic. I'd point to their cover of John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads" as an example. But we all have our preferences...no right or wrong to it.
If not doing the original justice, then leave it alone, just my opinion
Although many have heard their songs in Remedy's video games Max Payne 2, Alan Wake, Quantum Brake and Control
(Also every single reactor i have seen reacting to them has been pretty much blown away by their music so i'm very confident you'll like it)
also... also... lot's of deep and meaningful lyrics and wordplay in their songs
sorry for the long rant i just really want more people to know about them :D
they are good.but no one can compare against boyz to men. They are gods of love songs! Miss old days.
They are not trying to be the original. They are what they are. Accept it!!!!
Stevie, you are right! These guys are really good, but they are NOT Boyz to Men! I love you because you are HONEST!!! KEEP IT REAL STEVIE!!!!!!!
I agree 100% with you. Thats 1 of those songs no 1 should touch.
Nothing beats Boys 2 Men for sure. Especially if you were listening in the 90s. I have to say one redo of a 90s song that i didn't expect to like is No Diggity by Chet Faker. I was really surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did.
Check out " When a man loves a women " love your reaction ♥
With you brother where is the soul live that you’re keeping it real brother respect from down under 🇦🇺
They are showing respect . For a classic everyone knows
Hey there Mr. Knight really appreciate your content. Keep up the grind man. I hope 2022 finds you a bunch of prosperity and positivity. #KnightNation
It's like comparing Coke to Pepsi lol Home Free is amazing talent though... you should check out "Man of Constant Sorrow"
Man of Sorrow/Ring of Fire Home Free
Better than the original IMO
As an acapella group they kinda have to start mild and finish big otherwise it all sounds the same. With instruments you can vary the intensity more than you can with just your voice. Thats why Rob waited until the end to really dig in. :) Great reaction tho. I totally get what you were saying but its really hard to beat Boys 2 Men. I Remember when this song came out too. It was huge! It was the one song that got everyone on the dance floor at our 6th grade dance lol.
Buddy with the beard was holdin' back just a touch..... He needed that UMPH!!!!
I totally get what your saying, but in fairness, it's not there usual style, so they gave it a bloody good go.
"Random looking group". That made me smile. Yes, they are, actually. Except, they have higher Q's than most all singers. I then watched as you watched the "original". To be honest, I didn't see, or hear, a huge difference at all, except for the personal tone of the tenor singer. I thought the background singing may have been even better from HF!
o
i STILL SAY LET'S HEAR BOYS II MEN WITHOUT A BAND-NO, I'II GO WITH HOME FREE
I am not saying, they are better than the original, Boyz2Men were my favorite group growing up, BUT I would not go so far as to say that they do not hold a candle, this is the best cover I have heard of this song by far...
I understand exactly what you're talkin about in this video you need to check out Darrell's Boyz II Men melodies
I believe it's really all about personal preference... And let me add another important thing too... The sound system in which one is listening it through... I've heard Boys to Men through my experience headphones and sound system separately and Home Free BOTH under the same conditions ... I find them equal... I dunno, man it's all 👍 good here.
