Would love to see a release of the ‘Star Club’ audio which I believe Peter Jackson has. Hopefully he can use that separation technology to clean it up and balance all the vocals, guitars etc….. Great vid
The Star Club tapes actually already sound better than I realized. Here on UA-cam there are short samples from an auction house of the un doctored tapes, they sound surprisingly good and the past few years there's been fan remasters that actually make them sound pretty reasonable. It seems to me the biggest problem was with the 70's and 80's iterations people messed with them too much and that the tech wasn't there yet to beef up the sound.
I always enjoy your videos for the humor and because you tell the truth. I share your opinion of the Mind Games album, although I did buy the CD of the remix, in case it would change my mind. It didn't. I keep going back to the McCartney well, but he has been disappointing me for years. When you say, "I love him," then whisper into the microphone, "but I hate him, too," I can totally relate.
Great video love your humour. I agree with you the John Grant album is awesome well recommended. The only thing from the Beatles American albums I purchased was A Hard Days Night, most reviewers slated it but I’m really enjoying….have a great Christmas and New Year ….see you next year 👍👏🍷

Always enjoy your videos and takes. Totally agree with the escalating fleecing of the vinyl buying community. I still bought a few select albums this year, but I bought more used and new CDs because vinyl prices are just out of hand right now. That said, they're also putting out a lot of massive deluxe CD sets too. I'm a big Dylan fan, but I had to pass on the giant 1974 tour CD set. The prices aren't as crazy on the CD side, but I don't know that I need 20 CD box sets, you know? Have you heard some of the pre-release tracks from Ringo's upcoming country album? I'm intrigued by that one.
I’m not a huge Ringo fan if I’m honest, so I’ve not sought them out. What recent stuff I have heard of Ringos has a healthy dose of autotune on it which bugs me.
@@dinnerwithgreedo I'm not a huge Ringo fan either. I do like his first few solo records though, and I think his stabs at country in the past worked pretty well. That John Grant album is one of my favorites. Beautiful and darkly humorous. I was surprised to discover that Sinead O'Connor used to cover the title track to open her shows and sang the hell out of it. All I want next year is Let It Be and Concert for Bangla Desh on Blu-ray and perhaps the Walls and Bridges box.

Great overview of a year of absurdity. There was also the Beatles RSD singles... first the tiny Ed Sullivan show ones with the specialty record player, then the Black Friday re-release of "I Want To Hold Your Hand/ I Saw Her Standing There" that had the US Capitol swirl label, but has a small hole like a UK single. Who asked for that? You have become one of my favorite UA-cam channels and I also look forward to your videos, keep them coming for 2025. The best part of this one was when you made Oasis disappear.
One Hand Clapping was the first McCartney anything I bought since McCartney III in 2020. He had three solid years of lame releases. I'm hoping 2025 brings London Town and BTTE archive sets or at least a new album.

@@dinnerwithgreedo Thanks for the reply. I never complain about the cost of Beatles items - I just don't buy them if I think they are too expensive. Also, as a first generation American Beatles fan, I disagree with your "Nobody wanted" the US albums in mono. @@dinnerwithgreedo Yeah I remember watching this back when it came out. I like your scoring system and by that measure it would be an 11/12 for me. (I don't really count Nutopian International Anthem as a track, it's an easter egg imo). When are we getting the dinnerwithgreedo Beatles Christmas Singles COVERS though uncle Paul? And by that I mean uncle Paul does the covers. xxx Always enjoy your vids mate, even though Beatles are not exactly my favourites! 2025 gonna be DWG's year!
I have a first press of each solo album by each Beatle up to a point, and I do listen to these LPs. I never collect any new remix LPs or anniversary LPs. They don’t mean anything. But they create FOMO as it is a given that each and every release will be worth 5x more than its retail price by next year.
So the Lennon and Harrison remixes sound amazing so if you like those first pressings, they’re definitely worth checking out (as the Lennon stuff particularly are a vast improvement). I agree with everything else you said though. Like I say in this video, we also need to take ownership of why these things are so expensive and the way they’re marketed to us. If we didn’t fall for this shit, they wouldn’t continue to take advantage of us.
I don't think the industry is doing anything for collectors, it's just a money making machine. I used to be a collector but (to quote George) 'it's all too much'! Each deluxe edition is trying to outdo the last, how are they going to outdo Mind Games? Maybe they won't if it hasn't sold. I bought all the remixed Lennon CDs in the early 2000s, then it all went back to the original mixes in 2010, then "ultimate" remixes! They'll just keep finding new ways of recycling the same material until it no longer sells.
Not to mention 'The Beatles Story' only available in the US album box for about 100 quid more..... I want Rubber Soul and Help! next year.Love John Grant, his albums 'Pale Green Ghosts' and 'Grey Tickles,Black Pressure' are also great. Here's my recent cover of 'Tomorrow Never Knows': ua-cam.com/video/RvdcC3Oz3GE/v-deo.htmlsi=61HTwd_3z70KzH1U. hope it floats your boat. Happy Christmas!
I like Mind Games but apart from a few tracks it's lower tier Lennon and they put all that work into the packaging and then mostly mastered it terribly.
I sold off all my vinyl records years ago, so I don't know why I keep watching these vinyl collector videos. I think I must take some sort of perverse pleasure in seeing how horribly you folks are being ripped off by the vinyl industry. I know, I'm a terrible person. If it's any consolation, Greedo, your suffering always provides me with some great laughs!
I don’t consider myself a collector any more. Well…. I used to be worse (I’ve got Paul McCartney stamps FFS??!). Record companies have gone into overdrive and take advantage of fans. But I’m glad my pain brings a smile to your face! 😂
I decided to unsubscribe from all those other Beatle YT channels, as it was pathetic to see them jump over each other to beat each other out, to be first, while wearing their obligatory 'Beatles" tee-shirt or sweat shirts, etc, and reviewing the Mind Games box that they got for free as they came across as 'santioned.' by Sean or whoever. "Sean sent me this, so my site must be important.". I would much have liked to have seen and respected just one of them to hold off on a review until the official release date and giving us poor sods a have go.
It's got stupid now, rehashing a useless set of Capitol albums, releasing already seen footage of 1964, a Poundland Epstein drama, and the mighty Mind Games and Material world 😂😂😂
Don’t get me started on 1/2 speed remastering. Hey, let’s take a SINGLE album and make it a DOUBLE. Yeah, then we can charge TRIPLE! See, screwing people over is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Yeah, it’s all getting a bit silly. But, people are still lapping it up…. and they shouldn’t.
Deaf Ted, Danuta and Greedo. One for the algo👍.
Consider my boat floated!!

Hi. What about the Brian Epstein film?? That was a highlight of 2024 for me.
Damn it!!! Forgot that too!!
Yeah, I enjoyed it but I’d never watch it again.
I like Mind Games but apart from a few tracks it's lower tier Lennon and they put all that work into the packaging and then mostly mastered it terribly.
I thought it sounded great but yeah, it’s not a good album IMO.
I would much have liked to have seen and respected just one of them to hold off on a review until the official release date and giving us poor sods a have go.
i mean great...lol
It's got stupid now, rehashing a useless set of Capitol albums, releasing already seen footage of 1964, a Poundland Epstein drama, and the mighty Mind Games and Material world 😂😂😂
@Invisible Who is it?..
Don’t get me started on 1/2 speed remastering. Hey, let’s take a SINGLE album and make it a DOUBLE. Yeah, then we can charge TRIPLE! See, screwing people over is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Ha ha!! That’s exactly how it works 😂
@@dinnerwithgreedoI had never seen your channel, but I enjoyed this video. I think I’ll subscribe!
