Well I took your advice and gave my plants gypsum in October and now all 5 mango trees are fruiting . Last year only two fruited . So in the spring I will give them some more gypsum and this week I will pre treat them for mold and mildew .
Hello! I have a tree in my backyard, I am not sure what it is, my iPhone identifies it as a mango, is there a way I could send you images of the leaves and the buds? I just want to know how to care for it if it is a fruit tree!
I could barely hear them since ambient noise was roughly the same volume as voice. They really do need collar mics. And if using tripod, set it up in advance to settle on focus length, ambient lighting, and pixelation before the interview, but it's a common mistake in many YT videos. What I could make out, it was good info tho :)
@@Maatson_ don't get "muriate of potash" or potassium chloride because mango is sensitive to chloride salts. "sulfate of potash" or potassium sulfate is better. Langbeinite is another good option with low salts and is a good source of magnesium.
@@crackyflipside thank you . I ended up getting gypsum and putting it on the other day . I hope it works on my Philippine mango and sugarloaf mangoes this year .
@@Maatson_ Gypsum is calcium sulfate, no potassium. Check out the video from Truly Tropical called "All About Fertilizing Mango Trees", at about 9 minutes in he talks about gypsum.
For the vast majority of videos, sound quality is much more important than video quality. Much of this video was indecipherable. You need a dynamic microphone close to your mouth.
Dang Vince… dem airplanes have no respect. Thanks for Sharing
lol. Yea and because I had poor audio in the past I bought wireless mics but can’t compete against the 747.
Well another year has come and gone . I’m back looking at this video getting my mangoes ready for next season .
Yea I was late this year in getting the correct fertilizers down. Also have some very late flushing trees. Regardless I think 2025 will be good
This was good. Alex always has something good to contribute.
Alex extremely detailed and knowledgeable. I feel fortunate he allows me to video so we can all learn.

Awsome! Also no nitrogen fertilizer. 0-3-16 with micronutrients 2-3 times a year. And 0-0-22 in early November.
@@backyardmangoes4333 thanks for the reminder I definitely for got that .
How much gypsum is being applied and is it applied the same way as fertilizer by the size of the trunk?
Thank you. I try to produce something relevant and useful.
0-0-50 👀....that's wild but I'll see what I can find. He's a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate the info.
Landscape -agricultural stores have it. Amazon. Site one.
Jeez how close is the airport?
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll get after my production team.

I can ID it as a mango tree but will not know the variety until I see the mature fruit. BackyardMangoes@gmail.com.
Oh wonderful thank you so much!!! 🎉
Very important content, I sure wish you’d get better mikes so we could hear it. Especially Alexes Mike, needs to buffer the road and air traffic noise

The mics 🎤 were actually working too well. The airport traffic and cars on I-95 are buffered to the human ear when visiting Tropical Acres
I’ll get my audio team on it.
Thanks I’ll let the production team know!
I like having a bonfire and using that ash. I feel that the pot-ash helps my trees this time of year.
Yes I have heard of using ash. I read its best to use smaller twigs and green leaves. It makes a better ash.
What kind of potassium fertilizer would be used during the fall?
Next week, I’m doing a video with Chris from Truly topical about this. But Gypsum might be what you need.
Yea I’m confused do use potassium or potassium sulfate or are they the same thing for the most part .

Hoping for a great 2024
@orlandogardener - gives us hope 🙏
I check ✔️ my trees daily 😉
Where can I get a good nitrogen free fertilizer . Every where I look online has nitrogen.
SiteOne Landscape is a national chain. Also try any local rare fruit councils or independent supply stores. Good luck.
Hi,team backyard manoes 🙏🙏
Hello. Thank you for watching!
sounds like an aerial attack!!
Bad sound or no sound
The audio quality is very poor. All you hear is interstate traffic noise and airplanes flying above.
For the vast majority of videos, sound quality is much more important than video quality. Much of this video was indecipherable. You need a dynamic microphone close to your mouth.
What the hell you are talking about
Mango trees.
