Damn! Her playing is surreal. How original and creative her mind is. Her independence is superb. That opening piece was one of the coolest things I've ever heard.
So that's what I've been doing for 55 years! This is very different than the usual triplet subdivisions we hear so often.. The potential for development is staggering.. Awesome drummer and teacher and wonderfully humble.. Quite refreshing.
Also, she can sing. I saw her live in Paris 2 weeks ago. She played and sang over a backing track of only her voice with nice harmonies. It was surreal. She is an amazing artist.
Camille Bigeault is a genius. I feel like i am barely comprehending these huge ideas. I bet she could explain them even better and more comfortably in French...unfortunately i dont understand French. I appreciate her ability to speak multiple languages, too. Shes amazing.
Camille is fantastic. She explains everything very well, but it's a lot more difficult than it looks. It's like a pianist with 6 hands and he is playing 3 different parts of a concerto all by himself. That's why what Camille is doing is very difficult. She is also very pretty and I can tell that she is really enjoying herself while she is playing. I'm proud of you Camille... Great Drummer and well advanced in drumming.
Wow, now this is truly next level. I wish my mind had the ability to think of how to manipulate time the way her mind does. And even if I one day I could, I can already foreshadow the more difficult part for me would be to get my limbs to immediately fall in sync with displacing time in an instant. This makes me realize just how “basic” keeping something like a 2/4 time signature from the start of a song to the end of the song can be as compared to Camille’s abilities. She’s truly inspiring!
Thank you Drumeo for bringing a french drummer up in the place! She is awesome!!! That made me think Maxime Zampieri would have a lot to teach us as a host in your show!
Lots of amazing french drummers for sure... Stéphane Huchard, Nicolas Viccaro, Paco Séry come to mind... but so many others who are less known who could show their talent.
bro! she is sick. there have been a lot of spectacular playing on drumeo over the years - lots of musical and technical advice, too. but her style is what i actually would enjoy hearing and try to play like
I just love your tone and ease at which you play. Great dynamics and seem one step ahead of the next thing you play. It’s not easy to play a big kit.... easy to want to apply and play everything all the time... but she doesn’t and as soon as ya think about the last thing she played she’s already spitting out another tasty fill or groove twisting the downbeat or backbeat. She’s got amazing ease of layers and knows and feels everything she playing. Its one thing to be able to play fast or flashy loud, but to be able to play soft and strangely effortless she’s not just playing illusionary grooves, she even looks like an illusion as she’s playing that much while not looking like she’s really doing that much. Interestingly you think she’s not going to be able to play the way she does as you watch her and her subtle technique...she’s a complete illusion in my favorite way. She’s a magician musician, I can imagine she would wow frank Zappa at one of his mind blowing auditions, with her independence and interesting approach... I’m sure she reads the hell out of some crazy sheet music cus shes got every part of the groove down pat. Ok I’ll shut up now. Thanks for the inspiration and your humble truth in your playing. She knows exactly what she’s doing because she can explain everything she’s doing...in her second language on top of it. Love it.she’s like prog old school and new and plays permutations like garibaldi, great mix.
Real Clear when she explains the passages. Even if these are very akin to those of Gavin Harrison, she succeeds in teaching them in a very understandable way. Very clever !!
Wow. I wasn't expecting anything special but that's a gem! She is an exceptional drummer! Beautiful songs, brilliant cymbal work, groovy playing and very tasty arrangements! I feel the Donati is strong in her :)) Also respect for giving credits to Gavin Harrison. I bet not a small part of those who sat there before her are able to play those songs as good as she did. My gosh those pauses 44:44!!! :D
Just mind bending. Brilliant orchestrations and performance. Gonna take weeks to unpack this. Thanks for all the great content and to Drumeo for bringing amazing artists like Camille to the masses!!
When I saw the first part, I was like "oh that's cool stuff, she plays really good but I've already seen and played that. Nothing incredible." And the come the grooves 4 and 5... Especially the 5, it's mindblowing. We can see the huge work behind that
If you go on her UA-cam page she shows off how she can keep completely different time signatures with all four limbs independently. It's actually a little bizarre LOL
Woahh!! Awesome kind of fills to see again. It only shows the world has still many drummer that has amazing knowledge in drums to share and inspire.😍😍. Thanks DRUMEO💪💪
Great video! Camille briefly mentions the exploration of these concepts in jazz toward the end of this video. I first became aware of the use of displacement, grouping and, metric modulation listening to Wynton Marsalis' "Standard Time, Vol. 1" w/ Jeff "Tain" Watts on drums. Other drummers in the jazz world that do incredible things with these ideas are Ari Hoenig, Marcus Gilmore, and Chris Dave. Thanks, Drumeo & Camille for the awesome work!
I'm loving this. This is what I screw around with warming up all the going from styles and different feels rhythms and you turned it into art lol Love it.
Excellent Camille !! Tu m'as perdu quelques fois j'avoue ;-) Une tuerie.
I am glad she finally gets the recognition she deserves. I saw a video of her from 2014, covering Alien Hip Hop (duh!), Then I realized she was great. A bit of of a weirdo, yes. But a supergreat drummer. And a great composer (Room 8 = rad!).
She is amazing and I applaud all drummers who can play in odd time signatures. But I want to listen to a song and get into it, I don't want to do maths the entire time I'm listening.
Her out of rhythm grooves are as mathematical as Indian tabla Kayda, thihayees, a very intricate and classical way of playing two rhythm cycles simultaneous (polyrhythmic) and finishing at the same cyclical point. A feat requiring lotta practice which only real masters can achieve.
so im kinda glad i watched this, i thought i recognized her from a recommendation i got months ago. tbh the video i got recommended her eyes lookd like she was cray so i assumed she was just a rando girl who tries to drum but is crazy or something.I have to add that i didnt ever click the video this is based on one thumbnail and my assumption from ignorance. she seems legit though. good job banging the drums
Oh man I had no idea there was actually a name for this concept! There’s a song I talk about all the time called Sun Spat by EMEFE. It opens with this really powerful horn part that sounds like it’s slamming downbeat quarter notes, but then the back beat comes in and OOPS NOPE the horn part isn’t straight quarters, it’s the e of 1 and the & of 2. It’s absolutely mind blowing, and listening to the song with that frame of mind becomes trying to resist an optical illusion and it’s such a mind fudge. I aspire to create music that has people dance, but also has moments that are musical tongue twisters like this. Very funky and very cool to hear
La fierté de tous les batteurs Français ! 🥰Camille is on Drumeo !
Just got introduced to Camille via Andrew Rooney and now I'm hooked... Shocked that this is already recorded 6 years ago.... oh my!
Man, Camille always puts me in some sort of amazing trance whenever she plays. I just love her style and feel! 😍🔥
Damn! Her playing is surreal. How original and creative her mind is. Her independence is superb. That opening piece was one of the coolest things I've ever heard.
one of my favorite drummer of all times
I don't think I've heard polyrhythms played so well before, this is truly amazing control. I can't get close to this, lol!
Well! At almost 50 years old, I've finally found a new drum teacher! Good things come to those whom have patience 😉🤘
Une triple constante : une admirable finesse, une redoutable efficacité et une sonorité tripale ! Quel kiffe !
So that's what I've been doing for 55 years! This is very different than the usual triplet subdivisions we hear so often.. The potential for development is staggering.. Awesome drummer and teacher and wonderfully humble.. Quite refreshing.

Sou fã dessa grande artista que é pura inspiração e referência no mundo da música 🥁🥁🥁
She is just amazing. Mixing odd meters like that just comes so naturally for her.
Camille Bgt : very big brain ! It's magic.
Camille Bigeault is a genius. I feel like i am barely comprehending these huge ideas. I bet she could explain them even better and more comfortably in French...unfortunately i dont understand French. I appreciate her ability to speak multiple languages, too. Shes amazing.
Probably the one Drumeo lesson that I've been able to relate to the most to date. Love it! She's amazing.
Cannot get enough of her drumming. Glad to see her featured on drumeo!
She's awesome.
I saw her for the first time playing with a Genesis cover band..., i started following her after that.
Great artist.
Camille is fantastic. She explains everything very well, but it's a lot more difficult than it looks. It's like a pianist with 6 hands and he is playing 3 different parts of a concerto all by himself.

Jp bouvet
Manu Katché...
This was one of the best lessons!!!
Usable stuff that isnt just another rudiment or exercise.
Love the prog lessons
She's a BEAST! I stumbled across a few "weird" groove videos the other day and my mind has been continually blown.
Magnifique!
so good! Love her musicality within odd time signatures
bro! she is sick. there have been a lot of spectacular playing on drumeo over the years - lots of musical and technical advice, too. but her style is what i actually would enjoy hearing and try to play like

Frank Z. would hire her in a heartbeat…huh? 😊
Camille is an amazing drummer with an amazing future!
Bro is humbled, and sweating. Waiting for the "Now, it's your turn."
Real Clear when she explains the passages. Even if these are very akin to those of Gavin Harrison, she succeeds in teaching them in a very understandable way. Very clever !!
Very cool lesson, and it’s magic what you can do with subdivisions! Camille is very good at it, and on top of that a very musical drummer!
So Freakin Good! Love the way she is able to articulate all these illusions and grooves , She is a natural teacher!!! Thanks for having Her on.
Wow. I wasn't expecting anything special but that's a gem! She is an exceptional drummer! Beautiful songs, brilliant cymbal work, groovy playing and very tasty arrangements! I feel the Donati is strong in her :)) Also respect for giving credits to Gavin Harrison.

Such an amazing drummer!!! Thanks so much for bringing this to the community and sharing your gifts
I used to follow your Genesis covers and its been a nice sorprice to see you sharing your illusions lessons with us. Very helpful for my play style.
When I saw the first part, I was like "oh that's cool stuff, she plays really good but I've already seen and played that. Nothing incredible."
And the come the grooves 4 and 5...
Especially the 5, it's mindblowing. We can see the huge work behind that

Wow. Someone truly unique and innovative. Beat displacement has been around for decades but, it's been made into an artform here. Very cool.
Wow good stuff . Man she can play. She killed the groove .
Woahh!! Awesome kind of fills to see again. It only shows the world has still many drummer that has amazing knowledge in drums to share and inspire.😍😍. Thanks DRUMEO💪💪
Amazing dynamic playing. Crazy progressive stuff. Its a blessing to have such capabilities.
This is so much more interesting than double bass blast beats in new metal
That last illusion is a total head twister!!! Very cool!!!
She’s amazing and the kit sounds perfect. Great, great lesson!
I dig it. She’s not back there running a marathon or doing Chinese algebra. She’s funk’n groove’n. Nice work.
I do enjoy a bit of Chinese algebra though.

This is inspiring. Very in touch, somehow, with the heart of what drumming is all about. That rhythmic flow that reaches into your soul.
Why "somehow?
:O - me watching the video, the whole freaking length of it... AMAZING!
1:58 what a combination of the drummer's groove and sound engineering. Really cool.
extraordinaire!
Damn. Room 8 is so dope. So insistent and gooey.
That floor tom is glorious!
(... ...) I have no words for this woman.🤯
Best drum faces in the business 😍
1:44 and onwards...amazing groove and feel. Really enjoyed it!
Ghost notes so sneakily good. Great video!
Finesse, puissance, et surtout, le groove ! Ça fait plaisir de voir une fille à la batterie qui n'a pas ce côté scolaire !
I love how they explain everything, yet my brain still struggles to keep track of what is going on. Great lesson, bring back Camille!
One of the best drumeo lesson ! 🎼👍🥁
This girl has a sense of what timming and metric means on drumming.
Basically the equasion to the universe is her playing
@@philavon1358 Yeah sure..universe and beyond
Thats a mild way of putting it
Displacement, what an interesting topic!!! So many well-explained examples of what I'm trying to play when I'm practicing...well done, awesome video !
The drums sound amazing and Camille s killing it!
Well dam! That was amazing
I'm loving this. This is what I screw around with warming up all the going from styles and different feels rhythms and you turned it into art lol Love it.
She's absolutely amazing
Excellent Camille !!
Tu m'as perdu quelques fois j'avoue ;-) Une tuerie. Ça fait plaisir de voir une Batteuse Française envoyer du lourd comme ça ;-)
Belle tournée en perspective avec Junifer.
Bravo !!
Wow! What a phenomenal drummer with lots of fresh and inspiring ideas to share :D Loved it!
As a math rock lover, this sounds amazing. She's so talented wtf!!!
Excellent I have been waiting for this lesson. Camille is a star!
Mindblowing to say the least!
Best drum lesson on drumeo ever , wowwwww !
Camille, tu es vraiment incroyable..! Chapeau bas !
36:40 How many brains do you need?
Yes...
Like 3 double brains
Camille is Amazing!
I'm not a drummer and I found this fascinating.
Sounds like Phil collins ,c est un compliment !
Super j adore
Kit sounds amazing ,fantastic drummer
1:40 that little smirk…👏👏🤩😉🥰😻🔥🔥🥇🥇🎉
I am glad she finally gets the recognition she deserves. I saw a video of her from 2014, covering Alien Hip Hop (duh!), Then I realized she was great. A bit of of a weirdo, yes. But a supergreat drummer. And a great composer (Room 8 = rad!).
Bravo Camille, j’adore ta façon de jouer! Love the Tama Starclassic too!
She is amazing and I applaud all drummers who can play in odd time signatures. But I want to listen to a song and get into it, I don't want to do maths the entire time I'm listening.
My jaw was on the ground, great stuff!!!
Gavin is the man when it comes to this
Thank you so much Camille. You've inspired me again.
fantastic lesson! Camille is very inspirational in her playing!
Hey!! Madame Indépendance!! ça fait plaisir de te retrouver ici!! c'est super!
Phenomenal! This is Matt Garstka level stuff in the first piece.
the first one was a sick jam!!!!!!! darker than dark
amazing phrasing ....hats off!!!
Camille I just came across your video,it was awesome you are a great time keeper, now I gotta go get on my kit and practice some more.
And good idea to apply Brazilian Bossa Nova into a shuffle groove - 31:30 - Pretty cool!
so im kinda glad i watched this, i thought i recognized her from a recommendation i got months ago. tbh the video i got recommended her eyes lookd like she was cray so i assumed she was just a rando girl who tries to drum but is crazy or something.I have to add that i didnt ever click the video this is based on one thumbnail and my assumption from ignorance. she seems legit though. good job banging the drums
Damn man, those tom grooves are just spooky good. Really killer musicality. ❤️

Brilliantly exxciting and unique grooves.
Bravo pour votre groovy c'est vraiment fun. Top
Ah!!!! A french girl in drumeo awesome !!!! Respect from Rouen in france !!!
What a fantastic drummer! Really enjoyed Camille's lesson! :-)
2:50-3:30, I think I tore a muscle in my upper lip from doing a massive "who farted" face. Great work and helpful ideas!
Amazing drumming and musicianship.
YooooOooOooooOOOooo 🤯🤯🤯🤯 She ROCKS.
