The wonderful thing about this essence it is seems to work so nicely for most skin types- from dry, sensitive, to oily and acne prone. Not a lot of products can work so well for all skin types but this is a rare shining star in the world of skincare!

I agree with your score absolutely. I pared back on all my products to find what was causing problems. I haven’t found the problem yet, but I did find that my skin does better with this in my routine. By better, I mean more hydrated, less reactive, and more comfortable, if you understand what that means. I’m often aware of my skin in a bad way-dry and tight, itching, stinging, burning. This definitely helps my skin with that.
so glad I found someone else that has a close experience as me. This essence has been a must have that I always backups, I use it morning and night, it is seriously so hydrating. The honey plays a key role in hydrating.

I used this when the weather was still warm here in Australia and I like it a lot . However since the weather is getting so cold right now, I definitely need something thicker for my dry skin. But I will come back to this toner once the temperature is getting warmer
Have you tried the Cosrx Propolis Synergy Toner? If found it to be super wonderful for dry skin during the cold Minnesota winter- wonder if it might be good for you, too? Miss Australia- got to get back there some time in the future- such an amazing country!

They are both wonderful- have used them both. If your skin is on the dry side I'd probably go with the Neogen one, it is a bit more hydrating- I really loved it in my routine during winter and fall. The Ginseng Essence is great, a bit less hydrating, seems to be a bit more geared towards oilier skin types.
Hi Sarah this one is on my list to try and especially as it's a TEN lol. I do like the BofJ calming serum and sheet mask, so it is a brand I have had some success with so far (very dry, rosacea and eczema prone). I really like toners and essences - they were a game changer in my routine years ago, when they stopped including alcohol/astringent ingredients and became a hydrating step. My skin barrier is naturally always impaired, due to the eczema and rosacea - meaning it gets very dehydrated. I do consume plenty of fluids (before anyone encourages me to drink more water lol), but I do have TEWL due to my skin conditions. My skin drinks in all the layers of hydration I give it and toners are usually the way to layer hydration in a more affordable way (larger sizes and less expensive than essences or serums). Unlike misting my face with water they contain humectants etc which hold onto that hydration, whilst under the other steps in my routine. I like an affordable, gentle, fragrance free toner (or more than one) in both my morning and night routine. I'll perhaps get it next month when I'm lower on the toners I'm currently using.
Btw lol with the blinking and forehead movement - so funny what people comment on. It's natural to blink and is dependent on your own eyes ability to hydrate plus the environment you live in, will dictate how often you need to blink. It's a subconscious mechanism your body regulates for you and normally not a conscious decision. Having an expressive face isn't a bad thing - even if sometimes the youtube norm is a botoxed forehead (with or without botox being a personal decision). I instead want to say how glowy you look and how well you suit that colour. Best wishes.

Lady in red 😍. Love this essence/toner i raced through it! Just opened their repair serum hopefully it will go well cause I did not like the cosrx snail essence even though it seems to be HG for many people I think it broke me out. The glow and calm serums were lovely as well.

Sometimes you just never know until you try it out. Have you tried the snail cream at all? I'm wondering if that might work better for you than the essence, or maybe if the essence didn't agree with you maybe the cream won't either? Not sure. Keep me posted on the Repair Serum fingers crossed!
I saw this on sale yesterday at -40% so I got two! I'm excited to test it out, I took a risk ordering two but I've heard so many good reviews and it seems like something my skin would like so I'd be surprised if I don't enjoy using it

So do think of this as a toner or an essence??? My understanding is that essences help next product to sink deeper into skin than a toner. Important difference for us on Tretinoin. Thank you very much!
I'm about to pick this one up from YesStyle (I'm going to use your link as I always do). I'm also really curious about the Dynasty Cream from this brand.
I think I want to give this a try, too! I've been looking for a new lightweight toner, so this may be perfect.
As for the Dynasty cream, a little goes a long way! I think it'd be best for drier skin types, as my oily/combo skin can find it a bit heavy at times. I use it mainly during the winter or at night during the hot months if I ever feel like I'm a bit too dehydrated. I just used it last night and my skin looks great today. 😁 The packaging is so bougie, too.
So I believe the original version of the dynasty cream had a bit of fragrance, which I didn't like, although they recently reformulated it this year and it is fragrance free now- be sure to look for the 2021 formula to get the unscented version. I agree- it is pretty hydrating, wonderful for dry skin and winter-time!
I'm curious about your thoughts on the brand 'celimax' they are big in korea. especially your thoughts on their multi-ceramides gel cleanser
I've only tried a couple products from them but have enjoyed them- I think their Noni Ampoule and a mask product- but I did enjoy them- going to have to do a video on them! That Cleanser you mentioned looks awesome- and affordable- huge pump bottle! Going to have to order it and give it a try- the ingredients look fantastic! Thank you for putting it on my radar!

Idk if it's just me but that toner destroyed my skin barrier after two days , it took me like a month to get it right , I couldn't even shower or wash my face in barley warm water without my skin getting sooo red and blotchy ! 😓

I love this toner!!!.. I just splash it all over my face....in my opinion great for all skin types..specially in the summer...not sticky or greasy...love the ingredients..fragrance free...🤣🤣🤣.....I know what you mean , the price can vary from website to website.....for the winter you might probably want to layer it to get the right amount of hydration.... very affordable!!!... niacinamide, by the way, is also an ingredient that is becoming too popular in ingredients ( not bad I know)... before you know, you are adding too much niacinamide in your routine 🤭🤭🤭... see you tomorrow Sarah!!
I know what you mean- niacinamide is showing up in everything, which can be an issue because some people are super sensitive to it. Seems like there is a list of ingredients floating around from brand to brand... use these ingredients in every product (sodium hyaluronate, niacinamide, vitamin e... don't forget the green tea) Lol!

I got so excited because I found this at TJ Maxx for $10. I really wanted to try it, but I love the low prices at Style Korean but they have an $80 minimum for free shipping. I have way too much skincare to justify another huge K-Beauty haul.
Seems like the free shipping threshold at a lot of stores is going up, occasionally jolse will have free shipping with no minimum purchase, I'll have to keep an eye out for that.

I have seen some videos and articles with doctors and other professionals saying that retinoids cause dry eye by shrinking or atrophy of the meibomian glands. Most doctors and skin care specialists seem to be unaware of this. Im very confused and there seems to be a lack of definitive data on this subject. What do you think?
It does sound like this is entirely possible, although a lot of it probably varies from person to person. There are a few research articles worth looking at on this topic:

I am not a doctor, but it does sound like this is more likely to happen with oral retinoids such as accutane, however, it sounds like it can also be caused by topical application (but not quite as big of a risk). This is a very interesting topic and definitely is worthy of a video on this. It sounds like once this atrophy happens it is too late to turn back so when applying topical retinoids avoid the eye area is of utmost importance.

I am looking for a light fragrance free essence or serum that is really hydrating and helps plump up the skin for dry dehydrated acne prone skin. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Oooh yes- The Neogen Dermalogy Real Ferment Micro Serum- really great for dry and acne prone skin- plumping, hydrating, no fragrance or alcohol. Wonderful product! Another one is the Purito Centella Unscented Serum- great for dry skin, sensitive skin, niacinamide, peptides, great product and seems to work nicely for acne prone skin as well. One more I've been testing recently is the ACWELL Real Aqua Balancing Ampoule- lots of amino acids, very hydrating, no fragrance and has some nice brightening ingredients as well. Have you tried any of those before?

I cannot think of any reason why you couldn't usedit with the Neogen Vitamin C- I'd recommend letting the Essence dry down, then apply the Vitamin C Serum right after.

I’m confused about toners & essences. I thought you mostly could skip them & not miss much - unless they have some specific ingredients that will help you with some particular skin issues.
You can skip them, but if you have dry skin, or dull skin adding an essence can really help! My skin tends to be super dry and adding in an essence makes it so much more hydrated it really is noticeable. There are a lot of essences that really help brighten skin up as well. I think it is personal preference, if you don't feel like you need it or want the extra step in your routine nothing wrong with not using one.
I have oily skin and I find that if I add layers of hydration like water based humectant toners +essences, my oily skin realizes it doesn’t need to produce so much oil and it balances it out. Good for combo too cuz it’ll balance out the oily and the dry parts of the face. Hope this helps!

@@anamikaaudra2868 I can’t tell you what products to use but I can share what I have used. If you find something you like that helps with hydration, stick with it but you may want to use a couple layers. What helped me was using a toner or lotion and multiple layers (usually two or three layers in the morning and at night) You can select your routine. The biggest game changer for me was to use as much hydrating products daily for a few months. I always thought my skin was oily and it was severely oily my entire life. After about 3 months of using a hydrating toner/lotion I realized that my skin is actually combination. As soon as it was hydrated it so helped my sebum control. I never understood that dehydrated skin will make your skin over produce oil to try and compensate. I personally use the Rovectin Lotion (toner), I originally started using Hado Labo Lotion (toner) which I still like. Find a face cleanser that does not dry your skin out. My favorite is Krave Beauty Matcha/Hemp cleanser. You can use what you prefer/like, just want it gentle and not stripping. I stay away from anything with fragrance or essential oils. I am severely sensitive and that stuff kills my skin. I try not to use much with alcohol but a little does not hurt me much. I really like the COSRX Propolis synergy toner also. The best thing you can do is hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and eventually you will not need to use as much and you should see a difference. I do use Korean and Japanese skincare and have for the last year. You do not need to but I would suggest looking into products that have good ingredients and not so much crap in it. I use a serum by wishtrend Propolis serum, Rovectin lotus face moisturizer, Melano CC essence (basically a Vitamin C) and a sunscreen everyday. use whatever you like though. I just wanted to share what I use. The main thing is hydration and once you are hydrated it really makes a difference! For so long I was like I drink water and wear moisturizer not understanding that neither of those have anything to do with hydrating the skin. 😂

Agreed. Hopefully as the neurodiversity movement gets more traction people will stop judging people for their body language so much. -.- People need to learn there’s not a universal language of body language. Different cultures do different things. Americans are the one of the few countries that emphasizes a huge social “rule” for eye contact for example. It’s weird.
