Not to ask to be a spot burner but I’m new to kayak fishing and eastern shore waters. Looks like you were in blackwater area? I’m thinking of trying tuckahoe and unicorn. What do you think? Thanks
Thanks brother! If it keeps going in this direction, the bay is gonna get reeeeeeel interesting. It’ll become a domain for redfish and sea trout more than stripers.
congrats dude! I'm heading out tomorrow to colonial beach area... screw work...lol Great weather tomorrow in the 70's!!!! hopefully i'll find the dragon. Keep you posted! Hope you'll be able to get out there :)
BTW if your heading out and around in this area of VA or MD, or need huckleberry, LOL, look me up and I'll head out with ya I'm sporting a old town PDL 120 set up ready to go!
Awesome trip bro! Those were some nice slabs and sneks. The wind is crucial. It cut my trip short last weekend. It was flat and all of sudden, we had 3'-4' waves.
Hey kambo big fan of the videos. I fish for snakehead and was wondering how you “dispatch” your fish. I usually cut the gills but could use a more efficient way of getting the job done.
Thanks Michael 👍 I usually club them over the head. Best tool I’ve found for it is a ball hammer. Then I’ll put em on a stringer and sliced the gills to bleed em.
Ok thanks. I’ve usually only fish in the Baltimore area, but one day I’ll take that trip to the eastern shore. Just got to find a good spot to launch 👍
Which lure will run in the muddy water? The main spinner has also started running, I am not satisfied with your feet and there is no spot in the water, thanks from India.
Very cool to hear from someone in India! I think the best lure for muddy water is a chatterbait. I would try the Z man jackhammer in a dark color since that color usually tends to show up best in muddy water. www.basspro.com/shop/en/z-man-chatterbait-jack-hammer-ever-green-custom-bladed-jig?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=BPS%7CShopping%7CPMax%7CFishing%7CGeneral%7CNAud%7CNVol%7CNMT&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD1Tgte2q2TEs_p8riowlttA6knmK&gclid=CjwKCAiAopuvBhBCEiwAm8jaMbSyMITcuWUv8F98NZfYX_Xug1ExEBHcjNmr-9BzNppaiJ3Aeyxe0RoCFeoQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds I think something was lost in translation with the feet comment 😂
Cold water, nothing like a warm sunny day to get them feeding. It's like a light switch comes on. Also, am I seeing things or is that a TREMENDOUS amount of braid on that baitcaster? lol
Brother, if that wind hadn’t been blowing, I think I would’ve seen water temps hit 60. I was sweating when I was unloading my kayak (it was calm then). But once that wind went nuts, it kept the waters much cooler.
Decent trip for wintertime snakes.
If I hadn’t lost the third and had the short strike for the fourth, would’ve been a really good late-afternoon. As for the morning and midday…🤦♂️😂
Wow! Beautiful February snakehead
💯. That windless evening made that windy day all worth it 👊🙏
Good job again
Thanks much 👊

What a banger let’s go 🔥
Yuuuuuuup, thanks brother 👊
Great video, got to love a mild winter!

Great video bro! Nice day after fighting that wind! Beautiful February snakes and fat slabby!
Thanks brother! It was a GRIND for the first four hours to so, but when the wind died, it was all worth it 👍
@@KambotroutFishing Never give up! 💪
That's a Barred Owl saying "Who cooks for you?"
Lol. Thanks. Love learning that kind of stuff.
When do you think the westside snakehead bite will turn on? Earlier this year?
It’s turned on a couple days already. Really comes down to water temps. If water temps hit low 50s, it’s def worth going out and trying for ‘em

Man I WISH I could get out there tomorrow. Catch some for me! And I’ll give a shout next I’m out that way. Ready for some fishing meetups this year 🎣
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks brother. Love it when a day comes together.
I got a good one the other day when it was really warm out. Coverscat with a spinner stuck in there.
Nice catch 👊 If this is gonna be the new MD winter, Snakehead season isn’t going to end.
@@KambotroutFishing right?? I’m a little conflicted on how I feel about that haha.

Thanks Tommy! That sucks on the wind wrecking your trip bro. Man I hate it. And that’s the right word too: HATE 😂
Yes… yes, YES…
That’s what she said 😁
Many stocked ponds in southern VA are loaded with true SLABS.
what body of water are you fishing? Great video man!
Thanks Reagan 🙏👊
Can’t give the exact body of water because of limited parking and the pressure it would bring, but…Dorchester County, MD river 😏
Looks like some good eating! Can’t remember if I’ve asked before, but what’s your favorite way to cook the snakes up?
Really tough call when it comes to cooking em. So many great ways. Probably grilled in a foil packet with creamy shrimp and sausage gumbo.
@@KambotroutFishing that sounds delicious!!

Dem crappies what have been on my stringer. You almost make me want to get out, but not yet.
Lol, I wouldn’t blame ya. The SHOULDERS on those fish. That’s a good SAMMICH 😜

What reels are you using?
On the baitcaster, Shimano SLXDC 150 8:2:1. It’s Served me really well.

Lol, thanks 😂
Good stuff as usual
Got out the other day
Headed to the spot I got two last week and was meet by 5 Otters
No fish for me
Beautiful day though
Thanks Stu. How’d those otters treat ya? I generally love those guys, but did have one tense encounter with a pack of em lol
@@KambotroutFishing They were fine never had any issues myself with them and they ligit beat me to the spot
They are very cool to watch
