Out of all the vloggers who covered this house, you're the first who actually went inside and met the museum founder! So cool and thanks for sharing this experience! keep up w the vids..
Thanks so much Jacque Kayton!! We really enjoyed our visit to The Outsiders Museum! Danny O’Connor has done a great thing saving the house. Welcome to our channel ❤️
amazing video guys, The outsiders is one of my favorite books. i always thought it was brilliant that the book ends the way it begins. "When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home. "
We hope you get a chance to visit some day! We recommend following the museum's Facebook page. They also have an active FB group called The Friends of 731 N. St Louis Ave.
It's worth the trip! We recommend following their website or Facebook page to find out when they'll be hosting open houses and events. The museum is in a residential neighborhood, so it doesn't have regular visiting hours. Hope you get to go there!
Phenomenal ! I'm 48 I grew up watching this film too man times to count one of my favorite films ever made. I have a 5 and 7 yr old and they have also watch this film multiple times. this is one film that that people really can't say "the book was so much better" lol imo the book is amazing as is this film they sure DO NOT make them like this anymore. Truly sad in my heart that the youth and my own children are being cheated by today's sub par standards.
looks cool inside and nice to see Danny Boy when he bought it did he jump around LOL that is so cool that you get you to watch the movie while at the house where it was made. Thanks for sharing and look after yourselves
Lol, thanks Barry! It was awesome going inside the house and meeting Danny Boy! I was very tempted to ask him to “jump around” with us, but I refrained. 😂
I dream of one day renting a 60's Cadillac (convertible of course) and taking a road trip with my three older brothers, from Detroit to Tulsa. We would visit all of the locations of the movie, and cap it off with the last stop at the Curtis House. I loved the book and the movie, it was so wonderful to watch in the 7th grade (1986) after reading the book, of course. I had just turned 13 and as a newly turned teenager, I couldn't believe how amazing both the book and movie were. It will always be my favorite, and one day hopefully my dream will come true. Stay Gold
That sounds amazing! We hope your dream comes true and you can visit the filming locations in Tulsa. Thanks for stopping by our channel and sharing your memories! Stay Gold :)
Hi I commented on your other video a while ago, and I am literally crying. The actual house is only about 1 hour and 8 minutes away. I'm not even kidding, I'm crying 😂😭
I hope you get to visit some time! Be sure to follow the house museum on Facebook or check their website for days they'll be open. Thanks for watching!
Thanks!! We are lucky, that's for sure! We've gotten to meet some incredible people and see some interesting places! Thanks for following our journey and coming along!
I definitely relate to Dally. I’m rock-hard, I don’t know how to show love, and only really care about a few people. Him and Johnny are my favorite characters.
Danny Boy told us he relates to those characters as well. It's amazing to hear how many people have been touched by the characters in this book. Thanks for stopping by our channel and sharing your thoughts.
This is amazing! It just makes me so happy and excited seeing this! Such a huge fan of the outsiders! Such a great emotional and powerful movie. 🖤🖤🖤🖤 thank you so much for sharing this for us! I can relate to pony a lot😭😭of of my favorite character. He's a day dreamer and book worm like✨ amazing I hope someday I'll go there with my family!
Traveling Spanky! Hey Pat!! It is a great movie, a classic! The house museum has only been open for about a year. Hope you and your family are doing well! ❤️
I've been there a few times Dannyboy is such an amazing guy!! Also got to meet about 30 of the extras at a party there and then we went to the VFW and watched the movie with the extras and I know of a couple of the extras personally it was so fun
@4:49 in the background in the upper left next to the fence you can see the water fountain that was in the movie. Its just the blocks because it was temp built on site at the park. As soon as he obtains the last piece , he gonna build it back
Yes!! Isn’t that cool?! Danny told us about that while we were there. We’re excited to go back and see it completed. Thanks for stopping by and watching our video Joseph! Stay gold ☀️
Welcome!! It was truly awesome stepping inside the house, like being right in the movie! Danny (and volunteers) put a LOT of effort into fixing it up. It's exciting to see such a labor of love. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for letting us tag along! This has always been one of my favorite movies, and Im SO thrilled they preserved this house for nostalgic people like ourselves. Thanks for posting this video for us Cheers from Canada : )

What a cool museum we just got done watching your last vlog too just had to say that’s so cool you got dance lessons from Patrick swayzes mom that’s awesome.
Lol, thanks guys!! The museum was really well designed, and it was amazing being inside The Outsiders House! Patsy Swayze was quite a lady! I was lucky enough to attend summer dance conferences where she taught. Too bad I never got to meet her son though. 😢
Hi Bazza! There was not a sequel to The Outsiders, but about 10 years ago they released an updated version called "The Complete Novel" which includes never-before released scenes and a new soundtrack. We recommend watching that one. It's fantastic!!
@@Our80sLife There was a sequel back in 1990 titled "The Outsiders" it was a TV series on FOX which only lasted one season and it takes place after the events of this movie. www.imdb.com/title/tt0096673/ It was produced by Coppola's Zoetrope studios as well as him being the executive producer. S.E Hinton was also one of the developers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Outsiders_(American_TV_series) Thank you for a great video, I very much enjoyed it, I look forward to seeing your other videos.
I don't think so. I checked some online sources, and it looks like Patty's house from Rumble Fish is no longer there and only a few other filming locations in Tulsa were listed.
I totally get what you’re saying. The music in the Complete Novel version gives the film a very different feel. It seems like they were trying to add more popular songs of the period in which the story takes place, but I hear ya!
Somebody thought it’d be cool and edgy to give it a Pulp Fiction style surf music vibe… which absolutely didn’t work. Was only a distraction of wtf? and pulled me out of more than a few scenes. Surprisingly at final edit they kept it. Maybe and hopefully, they were thinking to cash in again later by putting out another version. One that adds more deleted scenes and brings back the original score.
