Kinda makes me think of some fanart I saw of a corrupted HS Aubrey (Black Space Aubrey? the one that kills Basil) beating down her real-world equivalent. "You are not Aubrey."
@@razzyromeo I do, but UA-cam keeps deleting my reply for some reason. Let's try this: The artist is Y0UD1D1T Edit: I guess YT doesn't like it when I mention a certain social media website, but it shouldn't be hard to find if you just look up the artist's handle. Be warned the fanart contains blood.
I suddenly came up with a story for it as some headspace nightmare scene in an AU. Starts with Aubrey accidentally lashing out and severely injuring Sunny with her bat or something. Later in the night Omori concocts this scene of "justice" taking advantage of the current glaring rift with one of Sunny's childhood friends in an attempt to further disconnect him. He thinks it's all good as long as it isn't Mari getting hurt. Even though Sunny believes he deserved what happened to him, there was a quick moment where he felt a tinge of resentment and betrayal amidst the fear towards her during that moment. Which is what gave his already violent natured alter-ego some inspiration.
I like to think this a theme for a more matured Aubrey. Let's take this situation of Aubrey fighting herself: Aubrey always choosed anger to express herself, and that was her greatest weakness, if she could not accept her feelings instead of using anger as a coping mechanism she would never defeat her own demons, and that's why she loses the "first fight", like Sunny did when he fought Omori. But once Aubrey accept both her own feelings and Mari's death, she would mature, henceforth defeating her demon, herself. And i like to believe that this would be the song for that situation. Instead of a chaotic and uncontrollable version of It Means Everything like the original one, this version is more calm and controlled. Like Aubrey getting herself together and letting go of her anger.
Thats actually a pretty cool concept,And Honestly it would Be A COOL Bossfight,Like a Substory or a story after the true ending after sunny moves outta town
In the console version, there's a new thing called Boss Rush which is exactly what it sounds like. In it, you can fight the headspace gang with Basil, and Aubrey's sprite has a mailbox. The mailbox is actually a usable weapon for Aubrey in the game as well.
@@zackjones8802 actually its not new, in the pc version you can go in it, in the hikkikomori route, but without basil, you will go with aubrey, kel and hero instead.
I usually don't consider a slowed version of a song to sound better than the original, but this is Aubrey we're talking about. She had had her feelings devastated by the tragic fate of her close friend so much that her life fell into a mix of depression and anger coming from the impression that no one was there to help her when she needed it the most. The slowed version of this song, at least to me, captures this tragic feeling better than the original and for that reason I have to prefer this over the original.
All the memories of her real family pass around her, the ones she lost, the one that died, all the pain of those she considered family, and two of them are standing in her way… she’ll be the bad guy everyone thinks she is.
You left out the soft wailing sound in the background of the original piece. So many people don't even notice it or pay it any attention, but yet if you think about it, it's probably just as important as the main riff of the song. It's rather sad that people don't even seem to notice it, I know it's subtle, but sheesh. It's important! The song is meant to symbolize a mind in conflict -- the fight or flight instinct wants to FIGHT but the rational part of the mind in the background is crying out in anguish over fighting a dear friend. It's a very emotionally charged piece, and removing the anguish part of the song removes the inner conflict aspect of it. That's not to say that this is a bad remix or anything, it was done rather well in fact. I'm just sad at so many people not even acknowledging the other half of the song.
To be fair, this is just a slowed/pitched-down version of a remix someone else made (which you can find in the description of this video). That said, I agree with you!
@hinata3527 its a game, its story is depressing but it is better to play it yourself its called omori, a psychological horror game made by omocat based on many subjects like trauma, depression, anxiety, repression, and how to cope with them and how not to, the bad endings being what happens when you dont cope and the only good ending being if you manage to cope hope this desc helped and didnt spoil anything just play the game and i garentee there is a chance you may cry at the end, i know most people did
I actually like this particular remix a lot. Most of "It Means Everything" remixes that I find are good, but they don't convey the emotion that I imagine this theme would have. They sound calm a lot of times, and even when they aren't- they just sound like the melody remixed into a different style. What I imagine this song's "emotion" should be is aggressive, yet tragic- similar to how it is in the game. This is why I like this version of "It Means Everything" a lot. It sounds angry, but it also sounds like it has a reason to be that way. But yeah, sorry if this sounded weird or even rude. I don't comment a lot of videos and it's hard sometimes to interpret my thoughts into a comment. So if you read this, thank you. I also want to say that this remix is, well, perfectly slowed down, great job!
"I'm trying to help you, Aubrey." "SHUT UP!" "Why can't you understand? You're only proving me right with how your acting right now. You can't control your anger." "I'm perfectly fine without your help." "I can tell you aren't. It's alright though, I understand." "Why do you think you can just come back to haunt me now after leaving me to suffer all these years?" "Because you can't get over this without me. I decided to let you cope on your own for a while, and I'm sorry." "YOU'RE sorry? I thought you died when Mari..." "It ruined me just as much as it did you." "THEN WHY DON'T YOU CARE THAT EVERYONE LEFT US?" "Because... They didn't leave us. We left them." "No... NO! If we left them, then why did it take FOUR YEARS for ANY of them to even speak to me?" "You aren't exactly the most approachable person. After Basil scribbled out the photos, you and you're friends started bullying him. Then, after the incident this afternoon, I decided to finally step in. Aubrey, I can't allow us to keep living like this." "But... Even if I tried to change, how the hell would ANY of them forgive me...?" "A good first step would to apologize to Basil." "Right..." "Sunny's moving away tomorrow. Maybe we could pay him a visit so that we could all go together!" "We?" "Please, can we work together again? Like we used to?" "...Alright." (So I changed how Aubrey reconciled because i didn't like the way it was handled in the base game)
@@giftedlicense3548 She's slightly out of character then. Added onto slight confusion elements. Eh, it's still nicely done. Also, thanks for replying.
(Major Omori Spoilers Mentioned) Remember the final boss in Omori- Omori himself? Do you remember how you (Sunny) were fighting against yourself and all the guilt and hatred you have accumulated over the years that Omori has been so desperately trying to tuck away? I imagine this is the song that plays during that scene, except it’s Aubrey fighting her young, innocent, childish self in her own Mind Space. I feel so bad for what happened to her. She became so deeply troubled…
This reminds me of a fan fic I’m writing where basically it’s the good and the bad ending mixed and basil jumps off the roof and not sunny. And when everyone goes outside to see basil Aubrey basically blames it on herself for bullying him and stuff and then becomes a hikkikomori (spare the spelling🙏🏻) 👊
AUBRI's lines to AUBREY should be: "You have been such an asshole to your friends for the past whole year, you want them to forgive you and and they've tried to convince you they did, but in their hearts they despise you." "You even almost killed BASIL, your anger to SUNNY means nothing, you're a liar, a hypocrite even." "SUNNY tells the truth with honesty and courage, why can't you accept that? four years without them have made you a рussy" "It doesn't matter what you feel, what only matters is what you've done..."
I keep coming back to this. While I haven't played Omori, I know enough to appreciate it's messages, on trauma, emotion, and the consequences, and the coping mechanisms - and I know enough to know the misery and anger that drives this musical motif. Something about slowing it, brings it to a point of perfection though. Clarity through rage. Sight through anquish. Questioning what it all means, for the answer to be, well. You know.
i like to think every character goes through their own situation and when i saw this i would think it would play like when aubrey fights her anger or something, idk
