It also makes for interesting interactions, like beating a boss several levels above you because they were fighting someone else, which feels sooo good. Or conversely having that fucking vampire hunter ruin a hunt because now I'm fighting two bosses, lmao.
Craft a fishing pole as soon as possible. Eventually you will need to be able to imprison NPCs to farm them for blood. Fishing lets you get fish that reduce misery of those NPCs, so you can always have 100% blood active.
Some added tips I learned. When dismounting a horse, you jump quite high. Use this to get up to some of the caves or shortcuts. If you can't break a rock with your "x" mace, and have a higher quality item like a spear, switch to it to see if your power level is now high enough. It changes based on what you hold. With my merciless spear I was able to farm iron, but not with copper mace. You can change your looks, completely, quite early with a mirror. Just not your name. Make a vermin nest, collect rats, put them in blodlod press and you'll have on demand essence. You can hold F as walking over loot to vacuum it opposed to mashing at each one. Your view can be slightly tilted, not just zoomed, to make it more over the shoulder than top down. When replacing castle parts, like palisade wood to stone, just place over top. Don't need to tear it all down. It'll replace it. The "vs stone" (mace) or "vs wood)" (ace) benefit against the leshen style and golem style enemies since they're made of those things.
dash-executes are something that are often forgotten about, but can be fucking AMAZING to pull off honestly. using them as a way to dodge an attack engage, then silencing an enemy for good is just a pure dopamine rush, from the incredible power you feel as you do it to the efficiency you get as you do it. i'm so glad that Stunlock finally got what they deserve: a massive playerbase to appreciate this incredible company.
I love the road system. Haven't gotten too deep because I keep restarting, but there's been a few times now that I've come across a big fight with a reinforced bone or copper weapon almost right out of the gate. Then whenever I'm running bosses I'll accidentally come across another target and end up coming back with two or three or even four boss kills purely by random chance. Just feels nice, makes the world feel more alive. Big thanks for the tip about the castle heart and floor bonus. That would have thrown me off hard since I like to have one big room in my bases like in Minecraft or Ark.
Yeah, Skeletons, Bandits and Militia are always fighting each other in Farbane and Dunley, while the army is busy dealing with harpies in Silverligth. To bad everything in the Cursed Forest comes together just to kill you.
My advice: Bosses are leashed to where they start. It's a decently long leash and can be exploited. You can sometimes drag them so far that the adds they summon become irrelevant. You can kite Octavion to a small tent down the ramp--possibly necessary if you haven't mastered the blood orb that gives you health back. Also, frankly, the longbow archers are more aggravating than most bosses and cheating the boss feels just fair enough here. Kiting bosses around solid objects works wonderfully well since the game can be divided into pre-chaos bolt and post chaos bolt.
This game is so cool! I'm already addicted... Building a giant castle next to a cliff on a section of a mountain that's only accessible via a narrow bridge.
A tip for harvesting resources faster: Use attack speed buffs, they will increase the speed you farm anything, use the special attack from the copper axe and rapdly change to another tool to get a powerful boost in harvesting every 5 seconds.
a few more tips, while being on horse you can use cave and teleporter, quite nice for move around fast. another one massive tips is about charmed enemy, you can use cave for move them around, they follow you through cave and will even follow you if you jump from a cliff.
Another tip, that works both in pvp and pve, don't go crazy farming paper, parchments, there is a printing press that is unlocked with the second tier and from there when you have the recipes it allows you to create the item in question faster
Great video as usual. I ran away from a full squad of skull vamps yesterday. I'm a solo pvper. Juke behind a tree, keep moving while transforming into wolf, zig zag and get out of site. The adrenaline rush is great lol
I watched quite a few of these guides/tips/wish I knew videos for V rising now but for some reason that I really dont understand, noone ever explains the (for me at least) most important thing to know about the game: If you are not playing the game daily or at least several times a week, you will lose your castle and everything in it! Why? Because there is a mechanic, that you have to feed blood to the castle heart to keep it from decaying - if the blood runs out (and it uses this blood while you are offline as well), the castle and everything in it will decay. I dont understand why noone explains this in their guides - maybe it's not a big deal for most people, but for me, I'd like to play different games and come back to a game after a couple weeks without having lost all my progression in the meantime. Fortunatlely I was able to get a refund when I found out about this.
Fortunately this doesn't apply if you just play with you/a friend hosting or completely solo. The castle heart obviously only drains blood when the server is running (i.e. when you're playing).
@@NorthernRealmJackal Exactly. I have about 5 days on my main castle and I'm only playing solo, so when I log out, no decay because, like you said, the server isn't running. Oh well, his loss I guess.
From my experience all weapons yield are the same, the only diference is the time you need to get the same amount, go to a planted crop and use anything, the yield will be always 10 per crop, no more no less.
Correct me if I'm wrong but my biggest issue with the game so far is it feels like bosses aren't really worth killing again. Some drop some small items but once you beat them once it kinda feels unimportant to kill them again
SUPER useful information here. Not only for new players but existing ones as well. Even playing constantly... I still learned a lot from this video. Thank you for your incredibly useful research and delivery! The least I could do is like and subscribe for you.
Something I don't really see in these tip video's is any semblance of stealth. Is there line of sight mechanics? Does hiding in the shade or doing things at night make you harder to detect? Or does everything just home in on you?
There is line of sight, and I do think humans spot you from further away during day than during night, not sure. You also also have a rat form, which hides your player name etc, as well as giving you greatly reduced aggro radius against npc units. Great for pvp and PvE. There's also a weapon skill that lets you cloak for 2.5 seconds.
i got it like 4-5 days ago ... really enjoying it... loving it really... but yeah as u said bosses can fight other NPCs around the area they are crossing in .... well inside the IRON MINE, there is 2 bosses... and they were fighting each other and 1 nearly killed the other, with that i managed to tag both and killed both as a result and got 2 free skill points and their other unlockables :) as for the sun aspect, im loving the feature, it adds that new dynamic to the game having to go from shadow to shadow... wait for the sun to be down or use potions to help deminish its strength towards your character..... then later there is the BLOOD MOON phases which benifit you a lot when fighting various bosses which were/are quite hard to manage... love it :)

Progression is more vertical in V rising... gear makes you stronger but it isn't too the point where they'll one shot you. On top of the recipe system where then if you die it will be easy to get back on your feet
Sadly, this game is shit PvP wise. There is no PvP because you can't do anything against someone being higher than you. Which is fine for a few times but not if they camp the copper locations you need to repair your gear because you die so easily. You can't do anything against someone being 10 level higher than you and that's why higher leveled players farm lower leveled players. I ran to the north even though being level 25 and there is NO high leveled player. They're all down at the beginning area farming the copper locations to prevent our progress. Its no fun i tell you.
im having hard time farming unsalid hearts or how ever it's called, i want to get greater blood essences but i don't have the ''recipe'' it says to exchange them. any tips?
Kill easier bosses like alpha wolf. Or if ur around 40 gear score go kill tristian to unlock it. Hes hard but easily cheesed on a horse, ul take no damage.
"Use the right tool for the job." Ehh, when harvesting it depends. On uncommon nodes like gems and metal, sure the increased yield is good, but for common nodes like wood and stone, you may be better off using the spear. The Q attack carves through the node much quicker than using the 'correct' tool.
Is there any other way of map rotation movement other than with the right mouse button? I got a refund because of that and would like to try again, if there is a better way of controling the map rotation.
Wish I new sooner that you can get banned for building a base in the wrong location on PvP servers. It would be good to also include the locations of where you and can not build bases in V rising so new players don't feel like they get randomly banned.
Can someone confirm if this game has base defense as in protecting from waves of enemies in PVE. My friend is convinced that game is focused on this feature.
I don’t think so. I made it to day/night 12 and didn’t really have to defend my place. Maybe he’s getting the blood essence thing confused with something similar to that? As long as you have enough blood essences in your castle heart to last you more than a day you should be fine
There is no horde defense or base defense thing in the game. What *can* happen is a raid from other players, but the game restricts how and when you can get raided.
I think there is. You get servants and get to give them commands. I have unlocked a servant but not the throne yet so I can't check out their commands, but in the description of servants I think I read they do defend your castle.

Had a good base on a ramp. Someone just build is base infront of the entrance now i cant get back to my stuff and lost basically everything. Feels kinda shitty.
The first thing you need to do when building a base is make sure you take the border up to the ramp so people can't build close enough to block it. There are building restrictions based on proximity to other player's bases.
The games as fun as hell, I don’t play pvp cause no thanks but the create a single player game is unreal, getting lost in the world is awesome - only thing that sucks ass is the whole sun damage it’s tricky and you’ll get stuck all the time 😂
You gotta build mist braziers at your bases. They let you walk around in the sunlight as if it were night. That way you can do all your gathering/raiding/whatever at night, and do all your building/refining during the day.
Quick Question. Today I logged on my roof from my castle was gone. Had to dismantle a wall and rebuild it to get it to show up. But I now I'm getting sun damage during the day in my castle. Randomly I will get hit with about 30%-40% of damage. Have to jump into my coffin to stop it if I'm in my castle.

This game is so amazing. I just uploaded a video to my channel of me tricking and trapping a new player in a room with... something bad XD. I couldn't breathe!
Yea... I destroyed someone's that the game told me was abandoned... I tought it was. Seemed like a waste of space. Well... It was not. It's a wierd system...
Its construction unlocking system is very odd. Its very gamified even more so than normal survivals. As a human or any other species it wouldn't be that way. I can somewhat understand unlocking power by absorbing power. Said power would be special for vampires but the need to assassinate someone to unlock tannery....
i wish you reviewers would stop forgetting that you DO have the single player/solo option. Ya ya i know, thats not exactly what the game is meant for, but sometimes, you just enjoy wiping out people on your own lol
I'm not huge on PvP in these types of games, PvE is super fun too, I've spent hours on my own in a private session and have a few friends who have built castles and come to help fight bosses and play with me one suggestion I have is to increase your castle heart amount in the options that way you can start new castle builds in different areas of the map which may help keep the game repayable once you hit the level cap

Amazing video, great tips! Side note: Having your face suddenly appear on screen is REALLY jarring to me, like, I have to block seeing it with my hands. Have to kinda think, is it necessary to have your face in the vids? Anyway, great tips!
15% durability loss will kill my fun with this "game" .. I am stuck at 20-30ish and i gues level 50+ players just farm the copper locations for low leveled players. You can't do shit against them. You can't fight them, you can't defend yourself you can't run away because they have a variety of dash skills you don't have. So yeah. And each time you die you lost 15% which means, you can't get copper because you die, you can't repair your gear because you died with copper and that means you're stuck. This game kills itself because we are stupid.. They should lower the 15% to 5% if you're killed by a overleveled skull pvp player.
I think they should have a system that you don't gain much from killing players that are alot lower level than you. Maybe if there is a 10-20 level diffrence you can't loot them and the players who dies loses no durability.

@@eltrapo3228 thanks homie!!
@@j.d.4697 Only from other players in PvP servers. There are no PvE hordes.
I really hope stunlock studio learned their lesson. This studio is known for stopping development in their games and hype up a new project
They don't just stop for random reasons... their games simply don't pull in the revenue to continue indefinitely
@@dargurt imean seeing as it has 47k players online atm, and each paid 20usd = that is damn near 1mil bucks in sales already in day1. They probs got more than that cuz there has to be like 10k that bought but are currently offline and some that bought the DLC. Deffo a much bigger $$ hit than battlerite ever was
@@Daminionz You're acting as if the revenue generated all goes to them. Yes, they've had a popular launch, but out of that "1 million" that was made, they might only see 20-30% of that after fees and taxes.
@@Daminionz lol you dumb? steam alone takes 30% and taxes around 20% so no, you cant calculate money like that
@@Daminionz publishers, advertising, shareholders amongst other overhead fees will need to be paid out. That “1 mill” will not make its way all to stunlock
I wanna get some buddies who love top down pve games into this one. Is this a good recommendation? Thanks in advanced!
If you play on a PvE server or spin up your own host so it's just you and your buds, you've definitely got a good 40-50 hours of progression here, if not more. Even more if you choose to play on the PvP servers. Feel free to also check out our review!
Loving this game 🎮
when will this be on Playstation!
how do i fix authentication error when joining server
This guy is good. He should be working for IGN or something.
We'd rather keep our videos genuine ;)
@@LegacyGamingUS Fair enough. Good voice tho.
@@LegacyGamingUS My thinking exactly!
can this game actually be played solo?
Quick Question. Today I logged on my roof from my castle was gone. Had to dismantle a wall and rebuild it to get it to show up. But I now I'm getting sun damage during the day in my castle. Randomly I will get hit with about 30%-40% of damage. Have to jump into my coffin to stop it if I'm in my castle.
There are some bugs with the castle roofs right now. They’ve been talking about it on the official discord
But how do I use STAIRS ?! cannot get them to work
They get placed on ramps
how do you protect your base when you go offline for a few days? Can people just raid you?
On pvp server there is a 6 hours window I believe
6 hour window set at the same time every day.
That's rather crap, what happens if I work during those 6 hours..? Someone just has free access to everything I've earned.
@@LolwutStevie you can get servants to patrol and defend your base
@@TwoMinds2 guessing they get slapped by real players?
Can I play as a solo in v rising ? And can other ppl destroy my house ?
You can play on a PvP or PvE server, with servers limited to Solos, Duos, or 4s.
I need to know about Claiming Castles and i can NOT for the life of me find ANY information on Claiming castles.....
i need to know if i claim a castle if i lose my old castle. i need to know all the information outside of the keys to Destroy/Claim castles. i have a "Dead" castle beside me thats max level and i want to claim it so i can have 2 max castles right next to each other so i can BUILD MY ARMY!!! i kill everyone in this Full loot PVP world. @legacy Gaming i need your help figuring out this Crucial information!
can you switch from pve to pvp at will and your char carry over
They’re independent server so you can’t swap over, you need to make a new character
This game is so amazing. I just uploaded a video to my channel of me tricking and trapping a new player in a room with... something bad XD. I couldn't breathe!
i know this is comment is off the topic of this video, but are you guys going to do an endgame lancer build video on aliens fireteam elite?
Good video, I'm going to give this a shot. You do something differently with the editing, looks like it was shot in V-Log.
great tips
On pve server, a player destroyed my castle heart after i just placed it
Yea... I destroyed someone's that the game told me was abandoned... I tought it was. Seemed like a waste of space. Well... It was not. It's a wierd system...
If they don’t put blood essence in it then it can be destroyed even on pve
You have to put some blood essence into it immediately orbelse it is considered in decay, allowing it to be destroyed
I'm playing Solo, Atleast for my first game. It gives room to just slowly progress and find everything on your own.
is the pve side of the game enough to enjoy? or pvp is the core of it?
I'm not huge on PvP in these types of games, PvE is super fun too, I've spent hours on my own in a private session and have a few friends who have built castles and come to help fight bosses and play with me one suggestion I have is to increase your castle heart amount in the options that way you can start new castle builds in different areas of the map which may help keep the game repayable once you hit the level cap
@@DaffyduckNZ PVE is better imho, people are nice and will help you on your missions. PVP is like Diablo "hardcore''. Only try it after you are bored of regular mode
is this better than Lost Ark?
Is this game still fun now 8 months later
Population has dramatically died down, but they did a recent dev blog the other day. Massive content update coming in the near future, should revitalize the playerbase.
I hate the lack of tooltips...
12:30 our castle is at the same place haha
Great minds think alike!
Ye, no offline mode. Have fun laddies, I will stick to my 8bit console powered by hamster wheel!
Welcome to 2022
You can spin up your own local server via the game
nice bait, OP
No offline mode on an online game? Crazy
@@nedgreen4974 the devs said there would be option
False info its not an increase to yield just breaks it 25 percent faster for tools to resources
Normal tipps for every survival game... just blood is different. A few tips only for V Rising would be nice.
Omg... "Use an axe for cuttin wood" you dont say... "look out for tresure chests" is a quote you could applie for every rpg... damn those "tips".
Amazing video, great tips! Side note: Having your face suddenly appear on screen is REALLY jarring to me, like, I have to block seeing it with my hands. Have to kinda think, is it necessary to have your face in the vids? Anyway, great tips!
Yes!!
Am I the only one who wishes you could use a controller for this game?
I wish the day and night cycle was a bit longer
It can be changed in server settings so you can find or make a server with that option.
Damage != Yield
This all reads like "20 things i would have known if i read the text on the game"
Impor-ent?
Yes...I know. I say the word funny.
This game is tough.
The game is literally out since a day or two, and people are already out there with "wish i knew sooner" thumbnails 😂
We've been playing for a week plus, and have 100+ hours between the two of us. This isn't just clickbait, we walk the walk
@@LegacyGamingUS alright, you got me on this one. Thats quite a grind!
Bought the game, went into a low ping server of 10 to choose from, and lagged so badly. Refunded.
