I used to vacation in Old Orchard Beach in Maine in the late ‘70’s thru the mid ‘80’s, they had an arcade just off the beach and they had this game in there. I put a LOT of quarters into that thing and finally jumped all the buses. Good times!
Thanks for the memories, I was the champ on that game when it came out in '76 at The Time Tunnel in El Paso Texas, I also won a pinball tournament on the Evel Knievel pinball machine, I got a gift certificate and I got to be in their commercials
There was one of these machines in my area in the wild . I didn't get to play it much, but I would see it all the time. I though this is one tough game.
I loved this game as a kid, and when it became available as a home console, I begged my parents to get it for Christmas. Unfortunately, when I opened it Christmas morning, it wouldn't work, and JCPenney no longer had them after Christmas; thus, my dreams were shattered. I'd love to get that home version for nostalgia sake, but when they do come up for sale, they can be pricey! If space wasn't an issue, I'd definitely go for the arcade can if I could find one.
Noway this game was so sick. I actually found this in a game room in a hotel in New Jersey. My wife being 10 years younger was life what black and white arcade games hahaaaa
So many 1970s arcade games made it into cartridges for the Atari VCS/2600. I'm surprised something like this didn't make it, nor did Artillery Duel. The latter became Human Cannonball.
Wow that is a very cool cab Evil kenivel was Huge in the UK 🇬🇧 I used to have a wind up toy bike that I used to shoot across the road. Love your videos 😃👍
I had the home console version of this. It was a little different than this version. The bike moved only from left to right. And had 4 different game modes.
There was a restaurant in Kenosha called "DAGWOODS" like the comic and movies, they had this game and GREAT BURGERS, OH, MY, GOD! But thanks for this video. For years I couldn't remember the name of this game AND HERE IT IS FINALLY! THIS GAME ATE UP SOME QUARTERS FROM ME AS A KID!😂
Used to play this at the movie theatre. Never could build up experience because Jaws was starting and what not…had to get my popcorn and soda and not worry about life
One of the best games for my childhood and I always think about it when I think about the Evel Knievel but now I want to Evel Knievel fan I'm 54 and it was at
Ive been looking for this for years and years do you know if theres a mame rom even? , id love to just play a gameon your machine, good memories of the drive in around 1978-79 , good times! , my 4 all time favs are , asteroids, space invaders, stunt cycle and Tron… thanks for the vid ,, it takes be wayback!
Many of the early games (possibly including this one) didn't have ROMs, because the programs were so simple. So, the program data couldn't be 'dumped' and emulated in the same way as later games. I haven't kept current, but there may be a simulator for it by now
Nice. Destroyer is one that I don’t see to often. They had one at our show one time and that’s been the only time I have played it. I really enjoyed it. Best of luck with it.
@@blinddog44 The good news is that I have the pcb and a few other parts. The serial number is AA 954 I think it’s a little worn though but definitely 954 I can recognize
Can't believe I actually found and seen what love I loved and a 8 year old who idolize Evel Knievel hero loved it all riding motorcycles my evil jump set and this video that I loved and as 8 year old made you feel like Evel Knievel
Nice! I played this when I was a kid. I never managed to get extended play. 8o/ Your console looks awesome, like it just came off of the assembly line. I heard a rumor that someone was trying to make an emulator for this.
Wow, I loved playing this game back in the day but had totally forgotten about it until I just saw one at Evel Pie in downtown Las Vegas, I wanted to play while waiting on my slice but didn't have any quarters, went back the next night and played it, such a simple game but its fun. May I ask what you had to pay for it? I would love to have one myself.
Loved playing this as a kid. I was in Vegas last week and I went to the Pinball Hall of Fame (which is a bit out of the way) hoping to find this game. They had everything except Stunt Cycle. LOL, the next day I went to Evel Pie (two blocks from my hotel) for a bite to eat and there it was.
The operation manual does state that but I have yet to see it on any Stunt Cycle I’ve come across or any pictures I’ve seen. I’m guessing atari made the change to game over before or very early in production
Oh, that's a nice one. May I share it in my Facebook Page "Retro Mania" leaving credits? I can't do this video by myself, because I don't own the cabinet LOL.
It does look blue in the video but it actually mostly gray if you could see it in real life. The monitor is a black and white monitor so it can only go grayscale and the game board itself only uses 3 intensities "colors". That would be 0%=black, 50%=Gray and 100%=white.
Unfortunately I have sold my stunt cycle since I made this video so I’m not able to check it. I’m pretty sure the Rev 1 boards had jumper wires on the board from the Atari factory and Rev 2 took care of it. Rev 2 also added a pot to help adjust the speed of the throttle.
You should be able to get up to 27. That’s when the circuit should signal max score. Does the game end for you at 23 or is it you can’t get the bike fast enough to jump more than 23?
what is that game worth? is it like $600 ? it looks in great condition. I too like the B&W games, like sprint 2 and rip off. I just bought the Atari football 1978
kevlarunderwear22 I find the 70's Black and Whites a littles hard to value. ultimately it's based on what people want to pay and the market for these games is a lot smaller then the golden era games of the early 80's. On the flip side there are b/w collectors that really want them and know they don't come up very often and are will to spend more money to get it so it makes for a wide range. I'd say the average price $250 - $450 would be fair in my area. Then + or - how much you want it.
thank you. I paid $700 for an Atari football in good condition. it was worth it to me because I really wanted it and they don't come up that often in my area. it would be nice to have a sprint 2 and a stunt cycle also. the other thing is that it costs something to restore these games. surely $100 or &200 for someone to put time into it and buy parts to get the game into good working condition. thanks again

Thanks for posting, love this game! Never noticed the Atari logo in helmet on machine graphics!
This and Missile Command were two of my favourite arcade games in the 70’s & 80’s. Thanks for the great memories.
Arcades back in the day were so awesome
Thanks for the memories, I was the champ on that game when it came out in '76 at The Time Tunnel in El Paso Texas, I also won a pinball tournament on the Evel Knievel pinball machine, I got a gift certificate and I got to be in their commercials
Qué buena anécdota! Saludos!
I played this ,way back when.
1976...I'm a Canuck and I remember your Bi Centennial !
Everything in your stores ,was Red, White and Blue!!!
I was 8 years old when I saw this at a convenience store. First arcade I ever played, loved video games ever since.
Wow, what memories this has brought back.
I played that game to death when I was a kid!!!!! Loved it!!!! Thanks for the video!!!
I always gravitated to this game and spent most of my allowance on it. Thanks for the nostalgia.
Wow, what a beautiful cabinet. Retro-tastic!
this was one of the very first arcade games i ever played . great work my friend .
Man..I forgot about this. It brings back memories.
I used to play this in Gatlinburg Tenn. all the time on vacation during the late 70's- mid 80's
I have always wanted that one. Played it so much at the bowling alley while my dad bowled league.
I played that game at Gilley’s bar in Pasadena,Texas early 1980’s
Dude, you need to do more videos. You are good at it! I enjoy watching them.
This was the very first video game I ever played. So cool to see one preserved!
Thank you. I have been looking for this game for years. I remember playing this as a kid!
Back in the days when Evel Kneveil was America's Favorite Superhero!

Wow. I remember this in the bowling alley in the very early 80s. Great times. Things as simple as this game, remind me of how shit the world is today.
I was practically born in the arcades but oldest I saw was some pong bar tables and my uncle had a 1978 space invaders
this is amazing ive been trying for years to find a picture of this game nevermind the actual cabinet thankyou
When I was a kid 8 or 9 I always thought that the tunnels that the bike goes through looked like a telephone receiver.
Used to play this at the movie theatre. Never could build up experience because Jaws was starting and what not…had to get my popcorn and soda and not worry about life
Those crash demonstrations for some reason were so funny.
I love that game…used to play that. If I could find one …I would buy it.
First arcade game I ever saw or played in 1977. Panama City Florida
This was the first video game I can remember playing. I played it in a Pizza Parlor that my family had taken my brother and I to.
It was so different from any arcade game at the time. I was 14 when this came out.
Thank God I didn't get into collecting these. This looks amazing.
This was the first video game I got addicted to. Spent a lot of paper route earnings on it.
One of the best games for my childhood and I always think about it when I think about the Evel Knievel but now I want to Evel Knievel fan I'm 54 and it was at

I loved this game...thank you!!

@@JustinSevenTwo This is available on Atari Vault (on Steam) as a prototype version for Atari 2600. That is what brought me here. Great video!
Awesome! Just got the home console version of this
Great game brings back childhood memories…!!! I’m fixing up an Atari Destroyer also from the 70s
Nice. Destroyer is one that I don’t see to often. They had one at our show one time and that’s been the only time I have played it. I really enjoyed it. Best of luck with it.
@@blinddog44 Yes it’s going to be very interesting because of the lack of parts and knowledge
@@blinddog44 The good news is that I have the pcb and a few other parts. The serial number is AA 954 I think it’s a little worn though but definitely 954 I can recognize
Awesome video, very fun to watch!
Thus, I swear to God, was the VERY FIRST VIDEO GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED! Right before Boot Hill.
I remember typing in a game just like this from a Compute! book of BASIC games.
Love this game, would love a cabinet but too rare so have to make do with the home version
I just got one. Going to be delivered next week
I forgot this existed.
good looking cab
Happy Memories.... ❤

incredible! I remember that game when I was 7 or 8 yo.
I used to own one. Best I ever could get was 23 busses.
It's almost TOO real

Hi. FYI, the right side sticker that says “game over” should really say:
Return Hand Throttle to Idle.
The operation manual does state that but I have yet to see it on any Stunt Cycle I’ve come across or any pictures I’ve seen. I’m guessing atari made the change to game over before or very early in production
Where did you get your reproduction bezel??
Do you want another marquee/bezel in great shape for Stunt Cycle…??
Interesting game that had a console version too...
Do you know how to change the Atari brick for the new dual voltage power units on Ataris old b/w monitor games
Oh, that's a nice one. May I share it in my Facebook Page "Retro Mania" leaving credits? I can't do this video by myself, because I don't own the cabinet LOL.
Sure you can share it if you would like.
Thanks a lot 👍
cabinet quality is incredible. screen looks a bit bluish. is it totally black irl?

Welcome Back to the good old days of the early grand old video arcade game machines. 📺 💻 🖥 📹 🎮 🕹 🥌 👍 😀 😴 👌 🙌 👏 👍
They could've made a VCS version of this.
Does your pcb on your Stunt Cycle has wires going to chips …???? Ive seen some on pcb but wondering if that’s factory..??
Unfortunately I have sold my stunt cycle since I made this video so I’m not able to check it. I’m pretty sure the Rev 1 boards had jumper wires on the board from the Atari factory and Rev 2 took care of it. Rev 2 also added a pot to help adjust the speed of the throttle.

I had the home version!
