Agree with Graham, it wears small for a 40mm. I swapped the black leather band for a stainless steel Milanese one and it is stunning - near perfect and rounds out the vintage look nicely.
I just received mine and it is really nice. Better in person than the website pics. Good size on my 7.25.wrist. Even the black leather strap it came with is nice enough to leave on. Good find!
Just got mine! … After I saw the review I ordered it with jubilee, it took 2 months to get but I love it. Perfect size for my 7 1/4 inch wrist. Thanx Chris 👊🏼
Got this watch. It's fantastic, looks like a million bucks. Minor niggles, date window is meh, bracelet is cheap but it looks good, and the acrylic scratches easily. The design is a 10/10 though. Waited a long time for the email notification to arrive.
No sapphire crystal? No lume? No milled clasp? No automatic movement? $200? NO WAY. If the Chinese can do it Timex should be able to do it also. And if I were to hazard a guess I'd say that the quartz movement in this watch is probably Chinese anyhow
Nice watch! Unfortunately sold out on UK website but I’ve put my name down to be notified. Will hold out for the bracelet. I agree that it looks more expensive than it is but I think the average ‘non watch’ person doesn’t even notice watches, never mind think about how expensive they are. It’s only us sad enthusiasts / watch addicts that notice that sort of thing 😂. Thanks for bringing the watch to my attention.
I really like the black leather strap and will get the brown leather as well to switch it up on occasion. Gives it more of a racing feel, even though I have a Wrangler lol.
I just purchased this watch with cream dial and black inner dials for a staggering £163 after an introductory 15% discount. It is a very nice watch and the build quality is spot on with superb quality leather strap. I don't care what others think about Timex's reputation for poor quality, I think they have turned a corner.
I like this. That date is bad. Put it at the 6 (black to match the 3,9,12 dark values) or don’t have it at all. Like the bracelet but I wish they had a regular clasp with micro adjusts. I really like how the black outer track shrinks the dial making it seem smaller than 39mm. Very vintage.
Totally agree in terms of what's ideal! Would also love to see the whole case smaller and the tachy make it look even smaller than that My opinion is that they spent their budget super responsibly and executed this watch perfectly as I assume they very intentionally wanted to keep this watch at under $200. I'd personally take solid end links+links (which were a huge surprise) over micro adjust The sugess with two sub dials and a mechanical movement is about the same price and looks just like the hamilton; the yema has a black date wheel with hybrid quartz movement with a sweeping second hand at $369; and as I'm sure you're aware there are so many chrono options the higher in price you go (i.e. seiko, baltic, etc) Looks like they dodge a lot of competition at higher prices and stay in a potentially super profitable lane by not spending on ideal improvements like color matched date wheels and micro adjust clasps But yeah in terms of improvements, super valid! But at a higher price point than 200 in the same way I wouldn't expect citizen or orient to color match their date wheel
Thanks for the review! What I find odd is the hands on the Timex web site are much longer than what's shown here (and other YT videos), on the web site they reach the minute track and the hour hand reaches the hour markers. They also look a bit fatter on the web site too, every colorway looks like that on their web site. If what you're showing is the production model Chris then that's a big miss on Timex's part, the product page watch looks a lot nicer with the longer/fatter hands. The shorter hands cheapens the look of what's an otherwise well executed design. I don't know why Timex keeps doing this stuff, putting up images on their product pages that are not what they're shipping.
If you introduce chronograph watch, you should stop the chronograph function, I don't know which one is the second hand and which one is the chronograph hand.
I have a Pagani 1701 with White Meteorite style dial. It come with boxed Sapphire crystal and Ceramic bezel. I got it for under $80. I really like it and the watches looses 1 second a week. Great specs and accuracy!
In India these are not available. Via amazon usa these are way too expensive for me. Can anyone help me get this for a lesser price ? I would keep them in my prayers.
Saludos amigo! Lo compré de inmediato, era el último en cierta tienda departamental" vi el verde y el azul con Correa de piel, pero el panda* es muy hermoso, y esos destellos en el dial en blancos-grises, me atrapó, con el armis Jubileo* me encanta! 😊🤟
Oh what the hell? Where did this come from? I’m literally looking at nothing but quartz chronographs right now. Thanks for the great review. And sorry Chris, I don’t care how ugly a date looks, but I personally need a date on my watches. Thanks again!
A massive opportunity missed! As a fellow commentor quite rightly says, the date window should be at 6 o’clock, and in black with the same type front so as to match the 12, 3, and 9 markers. It was harder to get that wrong than to get it right! What a waste!
you should pull the trigger! it's normal that the price on auto chronos are much higher than time only and the thickness are *much* much thicker than quartz chronos. this is super well priced for what it is! I believe timex doesn't make any auto chronos and you would have to spend at least double for this three subdial look but for mechanical chronos around this price, I guess you could go Sugess which is a direct homage brand. personally prefer timex over brands like that
Apparently nobody noticed that the minutes counter at 9 o’clock has an inaccurate scale on the subdial. How can you keep track of the minutes elapsed with indices only every 5 minutes? That’s a nonsense. The small second at 6 o’clock has a complete scale with 60 indices and 5 minutes subdivisions that should be on the minutes counter subdial. The chronograph minutes counter at 9 has a scale that is fit for a small second. Subdials printing should be switched. How silly. Come on Timex! Designer team should be fired for this BIG mistake. This chronograph is useless. Totally inaccurate. This is a no go for me. Ticks me off! Signed : a French watchmaker
Timex finally restocked and I bought for myself for my birthday present. So excited for it to come in!
Bought both the silver and green dials that look great in person. Timex killed it!
make a 38mm version and you have my money, Timex, please!
38mm is my sweet spot as well but 40mm shouldn't be too large, esp for a chrono. Hard to make them under 40 and legible.
I bought this on the bracelet. It actually wears smaller than 40. It’s more like a 37/38mm.
Agree with Graham, it wears small for a 40mm. I swapped the black leather band for a stainless steel Milanese one and it is stunning - near perfect and rounds out the vintage look nicely.
Look for Dan Henry 1964
This one looks and feels like a 38 because of the black tachymeter ring 👌🏼
Love that acrylic crystal that distortion is gorgeous and fits the aesthetic.
I just received mine and it is really nice. Better in person than the website pics. Good size on my 7.25.wrist. Even the black leather strap it came with is nice enough to leave on. Good find!
Date is no issue for me. Good piece.
Been waiting for the first review on YT of this watch, thank you Chris!

Deym, what a beautiful watch. Just got it today.. The wrist presence is amazing. Vintage looking.

its seiko vk63
Thank you Chris so much for making this one. Timex knocked this one outta the park! 👍👍

Did you ever get it? It's been almost 8 months and it never came back in stock here in India.
@@VivekTiwari03I did! It’s a lovely watch on the wrist.
I just bought it, it is good looking indeed ❤❤❤ love it
Top review, Timex are doing fantastic next level stuff, they certainly have my attention
I really like the black leather strap and will get the brown leather as well to switch it up on occasion. Gives it more of a racing feel, even though I have a Wrangler lol.
Timex really got it right with this one. This is a great looking watch.

Awesome review - do you think it'll fit well on a 6.5 inch wrist?
Great review. I’ve been thinking about buying the blue dial on the brown strap.
Surprised there aren't more reviews on this yet. It's also available in the UK in blue or green on leather.
Put the date window evenly spaced between 4 and 5 or better still remove it, and I’d be buying it now. As it is I can’t unsee it, and my ocd says no!

Best overall comments, especially what you said about the date

@@ckkk1m well said! Do you work for timex? Jk. Valid points. Sometimes I just say things!
@@jonboy8181 secret timex employee collecting intel 😏 but no I totally agree with you it would’ve been a better watch with those changes!
Which one is better marlin panda or q panda?
Great watch! Needs some lume and a longer second hand.
How's the glass? Is it scratch prone?
Nice one man! I don´t like that date window but I would totally hate a ghosted one.. :o
👍👍👍 Nice Watch and Nice Review from Watch Chris 👍👍👍
Timex has been killing it lately. I absolutely hate the date window on this watch though. Way too cluttered should have left it off IMO.
Love it, saw it on the sight the other day and was instantly in love with it
Eerily similar to the 38mm Dan Henry 1964. You can get the 1964 without the date window.

Another home run for Timex. I too would like to see a mechanical version.
Only complaint is the glass scratches easily
Beautiful watch, but the date positions kills it for me.
When people are saying #MaMaCoo is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
I’m trying to find out if it’s a fly back chrono (even though it’s a quartz) like Seiko VK63 mechaquartz. If so I’ll consider this as my next watch.
Date window at 12 o'clock would look neat

I just bought it from krishna watch company. It is still in stock.
Is this no possible to buy anymore?
What kind of movement does this use?
Very cool
Any micro adjustment?
Does it clic when the chronograph function is activated ?? The latest Q Timex chronograph doesn't clic and that really bothers me 😢

Where can i buy one !!!

Is that a 24-hour timer at 3 o'clock?
Effen 430 dates. Delete 6 o’clock index and put it there Timex guys, since they read my comments 🙄 Same price as vintage Timex’s without the repairs
Quarz or meca-quarz ?

I REALLY like this but the price feels super strong for me for quartz given their autos are not much more. May pull the trigger regardless….

Nobody reviewed the blue one😮💨😢
Why instead of twelve there is IZ?
Feels like a lazily designed watch. They just slapped the old quartz movement with weird date window and left the basic design to struggle to fit it.
…nobody is going to mention the Heuer Carrera resemblance ?!
Great design, but Still too big. With a dial that’s this big it really should be 38 mm.
Beauty
too bad the crystal is acrylic
3, 9, 12 ruin this for me.
Indiglo > lumen
Is it just me, or does this just look like a copy of the Dan Henry 1964?
Of course but its ok😅😅😅
Yeah u saw Hamilton intra matic they running auto😅😅😅
24 hour dial... boo.
If it didnt have numbers it would be perfect
Gorgeous
