Remember watching this as a 6 year old; absolutely terrifying to me as kid. It was a big deal and they brought all the kids out from classes to the back feild to watch. I was still too young or just doing half days so I was out front of our house. My mom must have known too when it was coming because she stuck us outside so as not to miss it. I was in a backyard of a neighbour a few doors up when it came into sight. The sound of it and it’s size were to me so awesome, my knees literally buckled and threw myself on the ground, burying my head into a garden mound. I didn’t look up or get up for a few minutes; when I was sure the noise had gone.
