You should see the Minim tiny house. According to its designer, "it has no loft because I like to drink!" Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/GLSxcLww2V4/v-deo.html
It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.
Thats one the prettiest container homes I've seen, It don't look like one outside, You and your husband done a great job with this adorable home, Anyone be proud to have it !😊
Tiny House Giant Journey do you have any suggestions for questions I should ask when buying a used tiny home? I just turned 19 and am about to buy my very first tiny home!
This one of of my favorites! So airy, and open. Those WINDOWS --- allowing all of the light to flow through. Simply breath-taking. Elegantly furnished without being overdone. I absolutely love this design style. So much thought went into making this home comfortable and functional. Quite perfect, actually.
I had the pleasure of staying in this tiny home for two nights (August 2019). It's much more beautiful and welcoming than the video presents. Thank you Sarsha!
I'am viewing this video for the first time. I loved your tiny house. It's very beautiful, designed creatively, and the open doors are one of my favorites. ❤❤❤💯❤❤
The only reason I don't have one is because I can't make up my mind on whether to do a couple shipping containers, or building with as much reclaim as I can find from contractors. I wonder if I'd be able to do a tiny basement for the not-so-tiny thunderstorms. AND I don't know who to contact about the containers.🤔🤷
@TOM ARCHER Thanks for the advice. What state do u live in, if I may ask? Cuz if ur close to me, I'd love to kinda see the progress first hand. Not to bother u, just to drive by slowly a few times during the process. Good luck.
Other than the window into the shower, it's a good layout. Having everything on one level uses a bit more ground space, but makes living in it easier. I'm an architectural drafter, and I'm familiar with the building code, and know what things make a house cost more to build. The first thing I'd point out is that this meets the requirements of the International Residential Code to be a legal house. As it is shown in this video, it is probably listed on their property taxes as a guest house, and not a full house. But that is a zoning law issue, not a building code issue. They have gotten around that by not installing a cook stove. Most municipalities define a kitchen by whether it has a cooking stove. The main space meets the minimum square footage requirements of the code. The windows meet the requirements, the bathroom meets the requirements, the plumbing, heating, and electrical, also meet code requirements. Some places do not allow shipping containers, and if yours doesn't, this plan can be built with conventional materials too. Anyone who has a lot and wants to build a small house on it, this is a good design to consider. You could change it up to make it fancier and more complicated, but you would just make it cost more to build. In fact, the one thing I'd suggest changing to cut costs would be to build it with wood frame construction, and not use a shipping container. If you have a container already, and have the tools and skills to cut and weld steel, go ahead and use it if your town allows them.
deezynar It's good to use a cargo container if you can, because they won't burn, they are very strong if cut properly, won't rot away, repurpose rather than go to landfill, a quick build and airtight if holes for plumbing & electric are sealed well. Insects, especially termites, can't eat their way in.
Love the sense of space. Everything feels well thought out in terms of comfort and utility without sacrificing the wow factor. Only element that I miss is a bedside table to put books and phone on etc, otherwise all is perfection!
I loved everything. Absolutely everything. Until the peekaboo shower door and I thought why? But never mind cos I neither wouldn't have that and would not want to know. Thank you for the presentation. Loved it!
I would have insulsted and clad the outside of the bedroom area in order to garner at least 8 inches in width for the bedroom end. Those few inches would feel like gold.
Why do rich people always want to have exposed showers? I'm a carpenter and when we build houses for the rich they always have at least one exposed shower in their house. Never in the main bed room either, you'd think a married couple would be alright with seeing each-other, it is always a guest shower exposing them to what could be a potentially a large audience.
I thought it was not practical too. If it's a couple it's fine, but they also might leave the door open if they don't care that their bf or gf /husband or wife can see them, so there's no point in the exposed shower. However, if you rent the tiny house to be with you and your children or two or three friends, well that's kind of "not so nice of a feature" I feel. (I'm a girl and I can sleep in the same bed as one of my girlfriend - wearing pyjamas!) but I wouldn't want to shower in front of them. And I think that would be great to rent a tiny house like that to go on a girls' weekend with my friends...but not one with an exposed shower !:D The house is really pretty, though! The deco is really nice :)
especially if people rent the place. then people outside can see them shower I wouldn't be comfortable with that . especially with all the huge outside windows 😂
I love that all the living space is on the main floor, no loft to climb,,,, thank you!
Me too

Great design. The French doors are amazing.
I do not like the peek a boo shower though. I would prefer a wall.
Richard Pena it looks great, but would make most people uncomfortable.
@@1Nida I'm sure anyone who is staying there is going to be in there with an SO, not a random stranger

Hi Jenna! Thank you for featuring a container tiny home! I live in a 20' container in Argentina :).
Coqui Mac That’s really cool! You should make a video with a tour. How many people live in there?
do you have an instagram that shows the container home?
Wow. ☺
Neat idea for a guest house. Would probably make a great inlaw suite as well.

These sturdy containers homes can definitely become permanent. That's why a planned designated area and community is Necessary. In Liberia.

Voyeurism, exhibitionists, kink maybe? Rich people are into some weird shit man.
