Maddy & Alec live in a 26 ft tiny house on wheels, decorated beautifully with quirky flair. 2 years in, they discovered a major water leak problem due to incorrectly installed flashing + no caulking. It's now fixed after a winding unexpected back & forth with their tiny house builder. They share buyer beware advice from learning the hard way! 🏡👉 *WATCH a tour of this couple's beautifully decorated, 6'5" tall man friendly gooseneck tiny home:* ua-cam.com/video/K8dYeSUKZKU/v-deo.html

All true insight is given to me by the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob!
      FYI:
      1]
There is a Tsunami Tidal Wave prophesied for the east coast
and the west coast as well!
The Lord God has told me in my spirit that the ENTIRE east coast (USA) will be destroyed and or underwater!
This will be due to the Canary Islands La Palma and Iceland's volcanoes,
erupting and exploding into the Atlantic Ocean!
God revealed to me that this Tsunami Tidal Wave event causes the events described in Revelation Chapter 8:6-9 (The 7th Seal).
This Tsunami Tidal Wave is also depicted on US $50 & $100 bills currency,
just as 911 was depicted on the $20 dollar bill BEFORE the event happened!
You can see a variety of UA-cam videos for complete instructions on how to fold US paper currency to reveal hidden images like the 1941 Pearl Harbor Attack, OK City Bombing, 911, and the Upcoming New York City/ East Coast Tsunami Tidal Wave!!!
This Tsunami Tidal Wave image is also on:
      Illuminati Playing Cards
      The Simpson's Canary Islands episode
      I, Pet Goat 2
      Written of in Novels
      Featured in Comic Books
      Displayed in Music Videos
Featured Storylines in many blockbuster Movies
The Storyline in Video Games like Secret Files
and many other places as well!
God warns us in many ways, but God also requires the evil, powerful, and magical Demonic Realm all around us to warn as well.
However, Evil usually does this in the form of make believe, or in jest
like in movies, videos, documentaries, video games, sitcoms, novels, and the like!
The La Palma Island volcano is now splitting.
The Icelandic Volcanoes are boiling as well.
It is said when these volcanoes explode, their pieces will plunge
into the Atlantic with great force, then major water displacement will occur!
This will create a Tidal Wave/ Tsunami that will destroy New York City
and the entire East Coast of America!!!
This Tsunami Tidal Wave will also drown all neighboring states to the north and south!
Areas down to, and including, the entire state of Florida, with all its nearby islands will be underwater!!!
You can visit floodmap.net then plug in 100-200 meters high wave
to see how your particular area may fair if you are situated on the east coast.
This link, at the 0.30 second mark, shows recent volcanic eruptions not seen on most network news channels.

The Mark of the Beast is a new form of BIRTH CONTROL!
It is a small round patch with 16 tiny holes that form a square
at the center of that round patch.
This patch adheres to the skin, then fillers within this patch penetrate the epidermis and enters our bloodstream as it changes the DNA of our bodies!
*We humans should not take this Mark
for it will ensure Hell for our souls!
*Nor should we bow down to worship anyone or anything,
for this too will ensure our souls to be delivered to Hell.
We are to worship God aka Jesus Christ only!
Please pray about what has been written here.
Ask Christ to save your soul by His atoning blood,
and or how to move from harm's way.
Please, if you are reading this I believe it is by divine intervention.
Perhaps it's not for you, but someone you know,

You know the tiny home community is a very small community and word of mouth gets around. People are always looking for recommendations on tiny home builders so the fact that you're speaking out about this issue is going to affect this company in a very adverse way and I have to say they deserve it. People should definitely consider long and hard before working with that company. They're going to lose a lot of money.

Mocha: seriously? You do not see an issue with them paying to have a custom home that was built to direct water INTO the home? They had to tear up floors, walls, live with that mess and ...well, I could spell it out, but, simply put: they paid to have a home custom built, and the builder made an error that a first year tradesman would not. We all work hard for our money and the purchase of a home is a MAJOR buy.... I wish you the best in life and encourage you to use this story as a “heads up”..

Mold from water damaged buildings is no joke. It can have far reaching health effects. If they subbed out the work, they're still the responsible party. The lack of accountability and responsibility here is infuriating. I'm surprised legal action isn't possible. So sorry you had to deal with that - being two nice people.

  • @bee-anca236
    @bee-anca236 2 роки тому +73

That’s wild the builder was such a d-bag about their clear deficiency. I’m so glad you all kept with it and got it fixed- but it’s so nice to learn of these things and especially what builders to steer away from! If they reimbursed for the inspection and still sent the fixings - it would’ve been better- but they didn’t. Shows where their priorities are. Such a wonderful couple! And great advice😊

  • @DawnOldham
    @DawnOldham 2 роки тому +55

Their last comment was my favorite- that they want to pay it forward and allow someone to live on their land when they can buy it.
Besides being kind and altruistic, they are very wise. Having a lease with a family member is just as important, if not more, than a lease with any landlord. (I know- I’m watching two family members with no lease between them and it’s not fun.)
At their age, they wouldn’t have known to get a third party inspector, but at least they figured it all out, documented their problem and ended up with a solution. (The tiny home company really should have compensated them for labor to fix the problem . They would have gotten loyal customers instead of bad publicity on a You Tube channel.
They are just the sweetest couple and I really enjoyed this video!

Not only is that some sloppy work by the builder but if 90% of the work was being subbed out that should have been clear from the get-go. Glad you named them, so others know who to avoid. I was thinking they should have flown there to fix the problem. I knew right away it was the flashing...that's (sadly) common even on big expensive homes. Roofing is the biggest place no potential homeowner looks...understandably, but still. Builders get away with so much in that area. Glad these guys were able to fix that - I hope those builders have cleaned up their act.

And shame on that Tiny Ida homes for not doing a better job when they built this really cool tiny home, caulking is really really important when sealing a home so it prevents leaks that can cause so much damage. And so great that you fixed that issue, you are for sure great at building and fixing things. Yes you definitely can get butcherblock counters wet! I have the same kind of counters but you do have to oil and condition the counters fairly regularly. I love oiling my counters, they look so beautiful afterwards. The other benefit is things like when I set a pot on the counter and left a huge stain but all I had to do was get out the sandpaper and sand until the stain was gone and then oil and condition the counters again. It's a little bit of extra work but so worth it because they can take a beating and still be able to look brand new

Nice video and nice tiny home. Sorry you two had to go through the water issues.
Shared a home with one of my brothers for a while. It was on a shoulder or saddle of a mountain. The uphill rain and snow melt drained past us to reach the lake and swamp across the street. Our water table was high so the wellhead pump would overflow often, and would become a giant iceberg in the winter. Unfortunately, the builders and previous owners didn't take the runoff and high water table into account, so our basement kept flooding. My brother did tons of hard work to fix the problem. 1. Dug a trench around the perimeter of the yard with a rented power tool, and had it drain into the ditch by the road. 2. Filled in the trench with gravel to keep it from getting blocked by leaves, sticks, and other debris. 3. Used another rented power tool to dig a trench around the inside perimeter of the basement, and had that drain into the sump pump hole. 4. Used waterproof paint on the walls and floor of the basement. 5. Replaced the sump pump after it died from overwork, causing the basement to flood yet again. 6. Patched a big hole in the basement wall that was hidden behind the washer and dryer. I discovered this big hole myself, along with the water it was letting in. Man, that was an unpleasant surprise! Once all these fixes were done we stopped having water problems in the basement. 🤗
I eventually moved to a trailer in another state and had water issues there too. My other brother fixed the frame of the back door, which helped some, but water was still coming in by the back door. We finally figured out that it was leaking through the frame of the little window in the back door when it rained, so my brother fixed that, too. Years later, when he was replacing my old A/C, my younger brother found water damage in the wall around it, and fixed that too before putting in the new A/C. At one point while I was still living in my trailer, the hot water pipe under the bathroom sink ruptured, creating a flood of epic proportions. I was taking a shower at the time, and couldn't understand where all the hot water and water pressure had gone. I was freezing, so I had to end the shower while still a little soapy. I thought I must have left the sink faucet on, as I could still hear water running after I turned off the shower. I stepped out into an ocean and threw every towel I owned, whether clean or dirty onto the bathroom and hall floors to stop up the flood. I eventually managed to get to the water heater and shut off the flow valve and the heating element. Had I left the heating element on there could have been a steam explosion. Fortunately, I know a little bit of science stuff, so I knew about that. The sink faucets were off, but I found the broken pipe when I looked under the sink. My brother fixed it a couple of days later. I heated water up on the stove or in the microwave oven until then.
Water can easily get in just about anywhere, so it's one of the most common home problems, along with bugs (carpenter ants, carpenter bees, termites, etc.), Roof issues, and electrical problems.
Sorry this got kind of long, but sometimes I just need to vent to someone about stressful stuff, even if it's just an old memory. Since I live alone I generally do my venting online.
I'v only seen a few in person, but I'm betting that your big, cute hair ball is an Akita. 🤗

Wow thanks so much for sharing!!It is such a beautiful house but buyer beware is right !I don’t think that company realizes how much they have lost in business because no way would I buy a house from them .Deny, deny isn’t always the best business tactics . When and if we downsize we will probably have something built onsite by a contractor where we can see everything that goes into it . This video has helped a lot !!!

    • @TinyHouseExpedition
      @TinyHouseExpedition  2 роки тому +3

It’s crazy right!? If you build on your own property also be aware that most tiny home builders will only build in their factories, so maybe get a good one that’s close. If you hire a contractor not all contractors can build tiny houses. They may not understand how to attach the house to the trailer or might not understand the small space saving things that go into a build. There are so many things to think about when building a tiny home.

Building a house big or small can be dreadful if you get a lousy or sloppy builder. So many people are so trusting. Do not be trusting. Be good researchers. Get a contract have a lawyer look at it and make sure you have an inspection before taking possession. Hold back money as much as you can in order to ensure your build is done properly and if there are defects holding money back is a great incentive to get timely repairs done. Having lived through an awful build I know of what I speak about. I survived it and have moved on and we love our home now but it was at tremendous stress, heartache and a financial disaster. So buyer beware. Do your homework. UA-cam is a great resource use it! Talk to as many people as you can and also make sure that the subcontractors are reputable as well. Good luck. All that said I would do it again in a heart beat.

I couldn’t stand not being able to get my countertops wet. I’m spoiled and can barely think about having less than granite because I always put hot pots and pans on them.
I’m a huge proponent of paperwork with family and friends. As you said, everything is clearly determined up front. I’ve never had problems doing things that way. I have run into problems saying, “We’ll figure it out as we go.”
And, of course, I LOVE seeing people love their pup(s) as much as we do.

There have been quite a few homes I’ve seen that do have all wood countertops and they do use them… So I think it’s the way they finish them and I know it’s a lot of work whatever method it is, that they use, they use them to cut on. It’s amazing. In fact, if you look at Incredible Tiny Homes, they use wood on so many of their homes for countertops, it doesn’t seem like anyone has an issue with him as they talk about them on some of the videos.
And that flashing… worked in a do you, school that had just been finished, and after the first rain, we had every single room facing East, totally flooded. They had put the flashing in backwards… Yikes!
You both have done such a great job, planning everything including the legal agreement made with your parents. Love it… so very wise as it helps with keeping boundaries in all sorts of ways. All the best to you, as you move forward in paying off your tiny home and purchasing property in the future…!

I find it shameful on the original builder for expecting you guys to have to pay anything out of pocket when it was an error on their end from the beginning. I guess it could have been worse at least the sent you the materials to fix it at no charge except your own time, even if they did run you around for a few months. They lost potential customers if they ever upgrade. I am just glad it worked out in the end for you guys.
