With all these modern pedals which have a complex original design, Andy's demos are the only ones that give me a feeling of what they actually do. It sounds great here!
same... just learned of this pedal today and was immediately intrigued, however all the other videos show it in a much too abstract (for me) application, which i suppose is what it's probably intended for in the first place, however it's nice to hear an input signal featuring some semblance of a normal guitar rather than just ambient swells, synths, etc. i love all that stuff, but it's too out there to show us how this works on a more basic level.
I've got to say, there was a point near the end when even Andy had that look on his face like he had no idea what the hell that pedal was doing, and all he could do was smile at its complex noises. Dude's one of us.

With a lot of the more esoteric pedals, while he does them justice in finding usable sounds, I always feel like Andy is leaving a lot of what the unit can do on the table(perhaps for the best in some cases, where otherwise we'd all lose our minds). Not so with this one. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, about 3/4th of the way in he started to fall in love with the Mood. And you know what- so did I. In starting with some more 'reined in' settings while explaining what the halves of the pedal are and how they interact, the stage was set for the rest and it's absolutely clear what's happening and why. Best demo of this pedal I've seen. I am sold
Maybe not the best bang-for-buck use case, but it can be a really cool reverb or echo sound (lo-fi in particular) or is can just be an instant "reverse" effect that's not quite what existing reverse delays do. TBH, I got one and I don't think I will ever use this outside of home. It is a fun creative tool though, and I have used it for creating "noise" tracks on home demos.
My tastes must be evolving. Not long ago, this would have been a hard pass with the overwhelming options and wild modulation and wackiness it can do. Now, this is absolutely exciting. I bet this could be super inspiring and take your creativity in many unexpected directions.
Random first thoughts: 1) cool, another Floyd/New Age pedal 2) I need a Reverend 12-string in my life 3) Dark World + delay + looper = MOOD? 4) Andy is like the get started quick set of instructions on these pedal demos. 👍 5) Someone get one of these to Michael Lemmo, stat! 😉
This sounds like the best attempt by Chase Bliss (and their collaborators) to make a natural extension of the instrument through a pedal, which is incredibly impressive coming from them.
Trick for bass; on the delay mode, put the time all the way down, clock at a high setting, and slowly increase the feedback of the delay to taste. It's basically a bass boost of sorts, you can get some serious low end out of it
I wonder what features would be cut to make a pedal similar to this more affordable because I’m sure I would buy a pedal similar to this if it cost less than $350.
Serious product drop with everyone's demos coordinated for 1st day release! Now how many granulating delay-O-loopers will I end up with?!? And when will one of our pedal heroes give us the functionality of the old "always on" mode of the original EXX 16 second delay???
You can also buy them if you don't mind living under the freeway overpass after. It's not so bad. Mood sounds and the smell of fresh sidewalk urine go well together.
@@i_am_a_tapeworm MOOD is a mico-looper. I wouldn't call it a legit looper. I own it... it's a fun pedal. But if you like Chase Bliss and you want a looper, get the Blooper. The 'Roger Linn' stuff does all this sort of stuff and more (AdrenaLinn II and III, and Black Box with M-Audio). Albeit older tech and different type of build quality. But very decent modeling combined with beat sync'd affects and filters, and probably a fraction of the cost on 'Reverb"
