same... just learned of this pedal today and was immediately intrigued, however all the other videos show it in a much too abstract (for me) application, which i suppose is what it's probably intended for in the first place, however it's nice to hear an input signal featuring some semblance of a normal guitar rather than just ambient swells, synths, etc. i love all that stuff, but it's too out there to show us how this works on a more basic level.

With a lot of the more esoteric pedals, while he does them justice in finding usable sounds, I always feel like Andy is leaving a lot of what the unit can do on the table(perhaps for the best in some cases, where otherwise we'd all lose our minds). Not so with this one. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, about 3/4th of the way in he started to fall in love with the Mood. And you know what- so did I.
In starting with some more 'reined in' settings while explaining what the halves of the pedal are and how they interact, the stage was set for the rest and it's absolutely clear what's happening and why. Best demo of this pedal I've seen. I am sold

    • @robertcaple5165
      @robertcaple5165 2 роки тому

Maybe not the best bang-for-buck use case, but it can be a really cool reverb or echo sound (lo-fi in particular) or is can just be an instant "reverse" effect that's not quite what existing reverse delays do.
TBH, I got one and I don't think I will ever use this outside of home. It is a fun creative tool though, and I have used it for creating "noise" tracks on home demos.

@@i_am_a_tapeworm MOOD is a mico-looper. I wouldn't call it a legit looper. I own it... it's a fun pedal. But if you like Chase Bliss and you want a looper, get the Blooper. What this pedal does do is give you nice little surprises that you can use to create a large musical idea. It take your short ideas and reinvents them, then gives you a foundation for doing other things... but it's definitely in the mood creating ambient realm, not in a looping realm. It takes patients and an open mind, but if you want a legit looper, this isn't the right pedal for you. In fact, the Chase Bliss website says this:
      MOOD vs Blooper
"MOOD is about play. About interaction. MOOD is like a little musical chemistry set, giving you two channels of immediate, open-ended algorithms. Combine them, pass sound back and forth, get lost. It excels at texture and ambience."
"Blooper is serious shit. Not really. But it is kind of. The foundation of Blooper is a high-quality looper with practical, handy features: saving, syncing, multiple levels of undo / redo, MIDI control, etc. It will do everything you expect from a performance looper, plus a little more."
They go into a lot of detail on the Chase Bliss website.

Jack Dave why are you limiting yourself to "genres"? Music is a lot more than just playing a 3 minute "rock" song for an audience. Many people write music for themselves, at home. Or experiment. This kind of pedal would be for something like that.

Forrester Payne you think limiting ? Then define what kind of music he played? And why genres for in music ? There is no limit for learning music but learning music playing guitar with this kind of pedal will lead to waste of time. Can’t learn anything just wasting time. I’m very much particular for the price of this Mood. More than $300 I guess. A cheap $50 modulation ,reverb and $29delay pedal can do much more better than this Mood. Anyway it’s my opinion.

$350 for a mono glitch-verb/DDL pedal.....hmmmm. why not just add a bitcrush to the DDL you already have instead.
choose well and together they can do far more than this thing

I know why there are 26 thumbs down. Andy can’t fully demo a Chase Bliss pedal in under three minutes so the ADHD crowd is offended.

Over hyped and less practical than any Strymon pedal ever, would love to know how much time it took to get these sounds?

Chase bliss pedals live up to the hype homie. Some of them are a little harder to figure out, but once you do it’s super easy to dial in the sound you’re looking for.

We have now reached a critical level of granular delay/time stretching/looping over-saturation. Yawn, I'm over it.

So, basically, a reverb pedal mixed with a grain synth and a bit of fun in-between. Sounds grand. It probably costs that much too.

Nope. Just a really terrible review - go find the knobs explainer, and you'll see it's (at least) three pedals in one. Delay, looper and modulation/ ring modulation. It's an extremely complex, clever pedal, but this isn't shown here.

Many cool sounds but for a pedal I could not find any solid use for this at all. Seems more like if I wanna spend $400 on just messing around and then getting bored after 10 minutes.
It simply does too many things to do one thing well, it doesn't really do anything that well IMO. I'll stick to a reverb+delay+canyon delay and looper on top of those.

They price themselves out of the non pro market. I could buy a nice Epiphone Les Paul for that or a good Fender amp. Crazy!
It's just a box of electronics, wonder how much markup they stick on the retail. Anyways, won't be paying £350 for that.

You will see more of this listed of Facebook for sale than any other pedal. Complete flop.
Chase bliss, yet again, designs a pedal with 10% practical use. This pedal could have been great but shows no practical day to day use for 95% of guitar players...on to the next one.

Maybe by people that don't understand it, but Montreal Assembly has been selling out of Count to 5 pedals for years and this is very much aimed directly at that space. I bought one and play more ambient and experimental/glitchy stuff.

1Bamawrx Does the world lack the pedals for what you think are 95% of guitar players (I’m assuming you’re referring to pop and classic rock)? Why can’t there be pedals for folks looking to do something different? Why shouldn’t studios buy one when a client is looking for something different? Since you’re advocating for 95% of guitarists, I’m sure you spend a lot of time in recording studios and you’ve seen their gear collections right?
