I have a 2021 on order from my local dealer. He is a small dealer but a good guy to do business with. Looking forward to getting back in the saddle again. Oh I am 84.
TW wish list to Yamaha: make it a TW300, keep the stock gearing but add a 6th gear, better modern suspension, enlarge the tank to 2.5 gallons, bring back the kick starter, add a rear disc brake, and go with fuel injection, fit it with a real skid plate that isn't a cut open Coke can, folding mirrors, wider foot pegs. Oh, and offer it in 2 different colors changing every year. That's not too much to ask, is it? That said, the basic concept is great.
That would be a different TW for sure! I think there would be mixed emotions with all those upgrades, kinda like when Harley makes a big change in their bikes!
Sweet!! Congrats on getting the bike! I'm glad you enjoy it! Thanks for letting me know, It's still crazy to hear that I helped someone decide to get one! First 2400 miles in and I'm still smiling so here's to the miles to come! 🍻
I have the exact same bike. TDub is the machine that gets you there... and gets out out of there. So realable that you can basicly fall asleep on you handle bars on trails and wake up safe and sound in your garage :-)
I just bought a new 2021 here in Canada . Over all I'm happy with the bike so far but am not too thrilled with the dealership . Took the bike for a 5 minute ride and once home and then noticed the oil level was dangerously low, not even showing in the glass . It took a few ounces to bring it to proper level , I mentioned this to the dealer and was pretty much brushed off as thought i was a complainer ,needless to say I'll be doing all of my own maintenance or going elsewhere . The one concern I have is Jetting , I live only 1400 ft above sea level and am often at sea level for rides. I have noticed the bike is very boggy on cold start up ,takes quite a while before there is any throttle response. I guess in time I'll figure it all out. have been ordering all the upgrades ,pegs ,hand guards, led light ect . Thanks for the videos Matt and have a great Christmas
Kevin did you happen to adjust the fuel mixture screw by any chance? I almost walked away from my 2015 with 600 miles due to how poorly it ran but knew worst case scenario a replacement carb is cheap (for the chinese ones). 2.5 turns out and it's more reliable than my DR650 was, and that's saying something.
Man, I hate hearing that dealers do t take care of the folks that are buying from them! I've worked at two dealerships and that wouldn't have flown with them! I do know that these come lean from the factory and I backed out my screw also to 2.5 turns. I hope that helps! This bike is almost like my Harley when it comes to accessories though.....can't just buy one! Thanks for watching and for chiming in, l really do appreciate it! Merry Christmas to you and yours as well and all the best!
@@kevinstav4757 Yes sir, it will be covered by a brass cap from the factory that will need to be removed. Just loosen the carb boots and rotate the carb in-place. At that point, use a small diameter drill to bore a hole into the brass cap and thread in a screw so you have something to pull on to pop it out. The fuel mixture screw will be below the brass cap. Access is tight, but I've done two bikes now without doing anything other than loosening the carb boots. Should be plenty of youtube videos on how to do it. My DR650 was the same configuration, so likely any video you find for a japanese dual sport will be similar. Once uncovered, tighten the fuel mixture screw in all the way and count your rotations. It's just good info to have as a reference point for how the bike runs at that mixture, not critical if you don't do this.
I have first looked at the VanVan 200... I didn't even know about the TW 200... I am still looking... I think I would be happy with either one... I do like the looks of the VanVan...
The Tdub has been around since 1987 and it is a great machine! I wanted to find a VanVan but I looked and looked and finally called the dealer last year and I was told I would only find them in the classifieds since Suzuki disco'd them here in the states!
Once again it's a great video and I love the old school way and it was very informative and how most people that ride will feel about the bike. And it does put a smile on your face when you ride it.
Hey thanks!! I'm glad you liked it! I think you're right, most everyone I've met with a Tdub or has known of the Tdub has always smiled when talking, seeing or riding them! Thanks again!
Congrats on the miles!! That's awesome! I've been happy with this on the road as well and haven't felt uneasy once with it's road handling abilities! Thanks for taking the time to watch and being a part of the channel!
Sweet!! I don't think you'll regret it at all! I need to make my way up to Canada with my Tdub, y'all got some great country up there to explore! Let me know when you get yours and how it goes! Thanks for being part of the channel, I really appreciate it!
Nice! By the way, hello from just South of the border, I can see Canada from a beach near me haha. I did the same thing when I saw how fast they were selling out around me picked up one of the last in my area! You will not regret it, such a great bike!
Yup Yup, l have always had a Kawi... but My KLX250 has hurt Me more than I hurt it. As a 54 year old you don't bend you break LOL. I really do smile at going slow. It gives Me the chance to see the beauty of My surroundings. Ride On!👍✌🤘🤙
Hey!! I went out and rode with my bro in law last week with his 2019 KLX250 and that thing walks away from the Tdub! I love my Tdub for just putting around the hills and just checking things out at a nice relaxed speed!
You just can't go wrong with Yamahas. I've owned three different Yamaha quads, 2 05' bruins we used for running around the property and an 08' Big Bear 400, those old quads are still running solid even after a life of neglect, that said I've started taking better care of my babies! Nice job on a single take vid by the way!
I was always a fan of the Yamaha wheelers!! An old Kodiak 400 was really what made me start liking the brand! The Tdub is one that I know I won't be selling!
You bet!! Check out the rest of the channel if you are wondering about the TW, I have loads of videos on it and where it has taken me! It is a great bike and I haven't regretted buying it once........In fact, I bought another one back in February so there are two in the garage now.
Hey thanks! I appreciate it! Been watching your channel grow like crazy! This was about as basic as I get, but I wanna keep the vids coming! Thanks for taking the time to chime in!!
I live up here on the west coast sea level to 5000ft is a common weekend ride. So I'm thinking jetting could be an issue. I have had higher rides as well. As well the kick start ability would be I believe mandatory. So I like the size and weight. As you say some areas you definitely need that ability.
I think with sea level you might have to adjust jetting a bit. I have ridden from 4,000ft to 10,000ft and haven't had any fueling issues just yet. The kickstart would be nice, but I haven't had a spot yet where I couldn't bump start the bike, but there are places it is definitely better to have one.
Great Machines I put 600 miles on a 2021 in it's first month ! Can't wait till the weather breaks so I can do a moto camping adventure across 3 states in April 😁
Nice work! I've logged almost as many hours as I have miles and the bike and want to keep going back for more! Across 3 states would be pretty cool, I am looking forward to getting out and enjoying the outdoors with it this winter! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
Y’all are making great videos. Can’t wait for more. Ditching my V-Strom soon to downsize, slow down, and smell the roses. Your setup would work well for me. Liked and subbed!
Hey thanks, I appreciate it! I've really enjoyed this setup and it has done what I've wanted it to! Good luck on switching over, it's a cool community to be a part of! Thanks again for following along!
I’m 5’8” about 150 and I’m wondering if I’m tall/heavy enough that I can flat foot it? I’m a very new rider and I want to be able to easy flat foot it. Great videos by the way!
I'm pretty sure you'd be able to! I'm 5'6" and a lot heavier than you and I can flat foot. My wife is 5'4" and lighter than you and she flat foots the bike just fine! If you're in Utah let me know and you can come check out one of these to see if it works for you!
Sweet!! Hello from Utah! Gotta make my way up there one day to hang out with all the Tdubs folks up there! Hey, if I wanna do a special shout out to the good folks in your neck of the woods, what would be a cool, unique way for me to do that?!?
Jared, I have literally ridden thousands of motorcycles in my day. I was a Harley Davidson Technician for a long time and have worked at many shops and ridden a lot. However, the TW is one that I always have blast on. I hope you enjoy it as well.
I have a 2021 on order from my local dealer. He is a small dealer but a good guy to do business with. Looking forward to getting back in the saddle again. Oh I am 84.

Done 1850km on my 2020. Since. Got it in June. Best thing I ever bought. 👍
Dang, nice work on getting those miles in......or kilometers! I agree with you, I haven't regretted buying it once!
Joined the TDUB club this month, your videos helped me make the wise decision. First 200 miles in...smile on my face. Thanks for your great videos.
