@@Voidthedeathbringer5 OK SO. This dungeon is stupid big, and it’s basically a race to the middle. Teleport sends you to a RANDOM LOCATION in the map with no chance to rest or heal. @Cinnamon Killjoy This reminds me of when I played Zelda 2. I had heard that Death Mountain was a massive difficulty spike and I had been struggling up to that point pretty hard. Then I found Death mountain and the rest of the game after that point (until the final dungeon) incredibly easy. I don't know whether that was just the point where the mechanics clicked with me or what but it was really weird.
This is the second to last dungeon in Darkest Dungeon. You're basically supposed to defeat this pair of enemies. After a couple of turns, the small enemy in the back uses teleport, sending you to a random place on the map, so that you have to fight your way all the way back to the boss. So he was close to beating what's debatably the hardest level in the game, and then got send on an extra lap.
I mean, I'd say that DD2 is the hardest one and DD1 is second hardest. Then DD3 and DD4. But DD3 is definitely the most annoying! I like to run two Lepers for it. If you haven't played the game, try it out. It is unbelievable.

@@calamari3064 ok, so: this is the final dungeon before the final boss, and to win this dungeon, you have to interact with an item that us guarded by the two enemies shown in the video, now, there are 3 main factors of why this situation in the video is pure pain: 1. In the game, you can take take different heroes to an expedition, and there are a lot of classes (16 counting 2 dlcs and a free skin of another class that is treated like a different class), amd this madlad decided to go with only atiquarians (idk if I wrote it right) which is the weakest class in the game and only serves to give you extra money (which is something you don't get here), so not only did this dude had to go throught literally hell, but he/she/they went throught that with a buch of literal weaklings And 3. The "teleport" ability the small dude used makes the whole party go to an ramdom corner of the map, meaning not only do you have to search your way yo this room again, but you also have to do so while fighting the strongest enemies in the game, and, in this case, using the weakest class in the game. So yeah, what we saw here was tragedy
Antiquarians are considered the worst class in the game by far; the only reason to bring one is they generate extra income when you bring them on a mission. That's the thing about Darkest Dungeon though even the worst class can do some shenanigans like this with the right setup but don't let that make you think the game is easy. It's also worth noting he was pulling these shenanigans on an end game fight. Oh and at the end despite his high dodge chance he got unlucky and had teleport hit him anyway which will kick him out of the fight and make him fight some other encounters to get back too the boss.
Essentially he fought the nearly hardest enemies in the second hardest quest in the game, using 4 weakest characters in the game. He lived through this encounter and killed the big tentacle eye which was the main enemy in this encounter. He also almost killed the small sidekick which would let him proceed with the quest but at the last second that thing teleported him to some random place on the map, which means, he'll have to find his way back there to finish his quest and defeat all encounters and enemies that are now between him and the goal. And there's also the issue with supplies, because people need to eat, food is limited and so are torches which are required to keep light. Because you really don't want to go into the darkest dungeon without light
It teleports your team to a random room in the dungeon. The dungeon is pretty big, and it can teleport you into a room with enemies sending you right into another fight. You then have to get back to this room, probably fighting more enemies on the way. This pair is pretty common in this dungeon, meaning one of those fights on the way back can potentially result in you getting teleported again. And of course, every fight is a risk of heroes dying, especially in this line up, which relies on dodge, because you're going to get hit eventually and there's not much healing on this team. Also, antiquarian is a pretty weak combat class and has low damage output as you can see, so fights can take a while as you have to slowly whittle enemies down while refreshing dodge buffs. And finally (I think) mammoth cysts have an ability called revivify that the one in the clip uses. Its a strong self heal and they really like to use it on low health. Also they just have a lot of health to begin with. And they have two actions. I don't know if they will use revivify twice in a turn though.
He was teleported away from the fight and now has to *redo* the entire thing, if I'm remembering it correctly. Edit: Looked it up, the he was just teleported presumably across the entire map.
