- This video goes through (in real time) gold leafing a pencil drawing! I would HIGHLY recommend spraying a matte fixative or testing out on a print first to get comfortable with the process! If you want to see more gold leaf or drawing videos, check out my channel!
Thanks for checking out this process video and I hope it helps =]

You save me sooo often. I have been fighting with gold leaf on my watercolors
This makes me so happy! Amazing vid. Stay safe! 👏👏👏
So nice. Great video
Awesome thank you! You answered my question at the end about protecting your graphite! Any suggestion on which fixative. Thx!
Do you never burnish? I've seen other gold leafing tutorials where they advise going over the dried gilt with a burnishing tool like polished agate and I don't remember ever seeing you do this step. PS - your caption says you use a sponge for texturing... did I blink and miss that?!
Your videos are very soothing. 😁
That's interesting! I did some research and burnishing on the piece is something I will try out next time. I haven't tried it yet but also haven't had any issues so we will see! And the caption was def from my previous gold leaf video, updated it right now lol 😅

Nice to see you using different tools to apply the size. I may have missed it, but what were your thoughts on using the dauber? I haven't tried using my dauber for applying the size, but I have used a color sharper pastel tool that has a silicon head. It has a little give and super easy to clean, and does well with small areas like circles.
I use my dauber to create patterns in the gold. I've only played with it a little, but I do a coat of paint (usually red) under the areas I want to add gold. Then after a couple hours after the gold has set, I use the dauber to lightly depress the gold leaf to create patterns.
Hi! What fixative do you use for graphite? I’m really worried about my art yellowing, and yours always turns out amazing.
Hi What type of adhesive and what paper have you used? Ive been trying mod podge on smooth bristol board but not having much luck. Thanks
Man how do you even do it, I am trying so hard with the gold leaf just to make ONE SINGLE STRAIGHT LINE, but it is sooooo hard 😩 either the glue dries too quick, or there are glue puddles, the leaf doesn’t stick correctly, it does not get the correct shape of the surface that it is sticking to, I swear you are a pro at it with no doubts!!!🎉
Definitely apply the glue thin and make sure you're using glue specifically meant for gold leaf as it's suppose to dry a little bit to become tacky!
Try using a water-based mixtion, it's a special glue for sticking gold, and it dissolves in water
do you have to gold leaf every print or are their places that can make prints of your work even if it already has gold leaf on it?
I only gold leaf the canvas prints but i do hand gold every print with gold ink!
@0 1 it's called gilding or good gilding to make sure you find the right videos and pictures 🙂
