This exact scenario just happened in Seoul, except 10x worse. A Halloween Party/Event got so overcrowded that 140+ people died from crowd surge near an entrance/choke point. Parents had to go to a stadium to check if their child(ren) have been put into body bags. most victims were in their early 20s. absolutely tragic.

Coming from someone who was actually THERE, all 3 astroworlds, it’s impossible to put the whole blame on Travis. The layout and shitty preparation from LiveNation was the majority of the problem. It should have been delayed and shut down after the security breaches. The barrier layout was almost perfect at funneling people into a single choke point on either side. I was lucky to anticipate the choke points and funneling so I was out of the area that killed all those people, but saw someone die with medical staff in panic about the lack of equipment. A lot of kids there had never been to a concert before as this was after the pandemic, and didn’t know concert etiquette either. It was just those 2 front zones that got crushed, most people in the crowd had no idea shit like that was going on. Travis also had a huge Apple Music livestream deal so they were probably pushing him for time, not 100% sure but yeahhhh idk shits just fucked. Bigger festivals have protocols for situations like that but this one failed at safety from the start. The “rage” culture travis promotes didn’t help but it was never this bad the first 2 years he did it.

In fact, given that his main role is to perform (probably while in Yodieland), while everyone who actually organised it had safety as one of their main priorities, those companies/people involved should be equally blamed or receive more of the blame, for failing in one of their main priorities as organisers (especially as they were aware of his fans antics). Big L take. No Travis isn't paid to ensure the safety of everyone, but he's the one with the most control. To see horrible shit happening at your concert and just smile, tell everyone to make the floor shake, and continue performing is wildly irresponsible. Its just his explanation of the idea that's bad. X is basically saying that while yes, Travis did encourage his fans to break in and be violent as a crowd, as a performer who definitely does not organise or staff these events alone, the blame does not lie with him alone. Despite this, Travis received most of the hate because he is the performer.

When hundreds of people are screaming for help and no one can hear them, and you're the only person with a mic that everyone can hear, you immediately have a responsibility and an obligation to do whatever you can to help. His job as an entertainer means absolutely nothing. What kind of world do we live in where you responsibility to entertain tops your obligation as a human being to help others who are literally losing their lives? It's not like he had to kill himself to try to help, he just had to stop "singing" and try to reach the crows at the back and tell them to back off.
