Nice video!! This RSD was a great one for jazz!!! I was surprised by the Bill Evans releases as there have been many in the past, but these two are great, and the one that really surprised me was the Pepper Adams one, amazing, so swinging!!
Hello Marcus - thanks 🙂 Yes - the Pepper Adams swings really well. Had to get it, so I found a sealed (& slightly overpriced...) copy on Discogs and have ordered it. Nice video on Sam Records 👍. Really like Fred's releases a lot. I'm going to see him in the shop in Paris this weekend - will try to make a short interview to put up here on my channel. BTW: I can recommend Barney Wilen - French Ballads (Elemental Music 2021) - great soft jazz!

Nice finds you have made lately 😃 The title of the book is: "Times remembered - The Final Years of the Bill Evans Trio" written by Joe La Barbera and Charles Levin. UNT Press. It's available on Amazon from under $ 20 - and it's a good and easy read. Starts rather dramatic with La Barbera describing how he drives Evans to the hospital the last time - going the wrong way on one-way streets while Evans is coughing up blood lying on the back seat... But you also get a deeper look into how Evans and the trio worked and how Evans (mood, health, economy etc.) developed the last two year. For me he was the greatest jazz pianist ❤ Take care!
