Starr Company Watch the video of Stanley Clarke’s Night School on UA-cam and early videos of Sly and the Family Stone with Larry Graham on bass. He revolutionized the bass with his style. Now everyone copies him.
He's a legendary player and is in several jazz rock fusion bands with the likes of Buckethead, Steve Vai, Alex Skolnick as well as James Brown and the Funk Bros. Most people only know him for Parliament/ Funkadelic but he has many other projects under his belt.
@Ric Hicks and I believe it was 1970 when Bootsy became one of the JB's. So it was close to the same time as when the great Larry Graham was slapping that bass up for the Family Stone. Graham got him by about two years.
The bass God...you know you’re a God when you can hear the bass line and it connects to soo many artist that spans 50 years from James Brown to Parliament to DeeLite to Childish Gambino. Bass God Bootsy Collins.

OHIO FUNK CAPITAL
This video is way better than the radio version. Born in 83 this video takes me there!!
The speech, though. A whole lot of kisses, and a whole lot of touches!

Holy sh~t!
"We gon' nut at the same time baby" *blasts bass guitar! WOW!
I didn't know they talked like that. And I was born in 1973!
navyman4 Get wit it'!
navyman4 and oh yessss! Me 2! Our birth 70's generation was one of thee most liberating sexuality years in history!#Funkadelic70'sBaby'sRuleeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
+navyman4 , of course you were sheltered and only 3y/o @ the time of this concert. Bootsy was a free spirit in the Funk.
UNbowed62 I wouldn't say sheltered. My mom was a drug kingpin and I was raped by a prostitute over and over for 2 years. Still, I think I was just too young to notice the language.
+navyman4 Oh, now I am so very sad. Hope you are doing well in life, recovered in the healthiest way and I wish the very best for you dear. Keep listening to Bootsy. He keeps us all sane. Long live tha Funk! Keep looking up!
Bootsy, Maceo, P-Nut, Bone. What a band!
A rare moment when I'm sincerely sad because the song is over...
Hit replay...
Omg the guy on the right .. his voice is heavenly so high pitched but makes the song so much better

@@Kary3797 a mi tambien me da gusto. Have a wonderful evening chula
His four octave vocal range is impeccable.
Everyone on this set was fried lol!!!
Back when people still cared about love
Granted....love was alot more rough back then than its materialism simplicity today.
White, black, asian race don’t matter we just gotta move with this smooth groove and love each other
Why bring it up?
💯💯💯💯✊✊✊ stop the bs ....we out here dying from covid 19 all.of us are
No we need to quit sharing and keep this ALL BLACK!
Peanut's voice is awesome!
Bone (Mudbone) is the falcetto voice, the shorter one. Peanut is the taller one with the tenor voice
there both awesome
Tammy Terrell yes
He killed it.
Ishimaru- hear hear!
EXCUSE ME DID HE MAKE THAT BASS GUITAR SOUND LIKE AN ELECTRIC GUITAR? I had no idea this man could play that good
Starr Company Watch the video of Stanley Clarke’s Night School on UA-cam and early videos of Sly and the Family Stone with Larry Graham on bass.
@Ric Hicks So you saying James was like Prince when it came to work ethics huh?
@@starrcompany3275 No he's saying Prince was like JAMES
@Ric Hicks and I believe it was 1970 when Bootsy became one of the JB's. So it was close to the same time as when the great Larry Graham was slapping that bass up for the Family Stone. Graham got him by about two years.
Won’t be no artists like this again man. Thank my pops for putting me on funk.
This was the smoothest most disgusting hilarious thing I ever heard. Lol
Yep. LoL
Exactly!
I’m glad you put my emotions into word
This is my first time seeing Bootsy's eyes.
Bootsy dnt get the recognition he deserves he was a genius man
The bass God...you know you’re a God when you can hear the bass line and it connects to soo many artist that spans 50 years from James Brown to Parliament to DeeLite to Childish Gambino. Bass God Bootsy Collins.
Underrated comment 💯❗️
I agree 1 trillion percent...but don't sleep on Larry Graham
Bootsy doesn't "connect" all those artists, he IS the bassist for all those artists. Literally. Bassist for James Brown, Parliament, DeeLite, and sampled by Childish Gambino.
Facts 🤙🏾
Have mercyyyyy!🎸❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
My mom used to listen to stuff like this all the time back in the day...I didn’t like it because I was a kid and of course, immature...but mannn I’m an adult now and OMFG 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@ZuluTime Productions if you can read his hole approach was appreciative. Mike I’m glad you can resonate with a connection with your mom w music. I’m young and have found a great love for the life my mother lived as well. She is also driven by the great soulful music of her prime.
What if we don’t like music like this when we’re young because our ears are pure when young. We’re conditioned to love music like this and think it’s good but really it’s devils music. Drugs, Sex….impurity.
@@PYahWeh if it’s the devil music why are you here commenting and watching the video??? Make it make sense.. either UA-cam recommended the video or you searched it on your own… regardless ya momma never told you if you don’t have nothing nice to say to keep ya mouth shuuuut. You’re obviously not reading the room and everyone is here because they LOVE this music.
@@lauramo1122 God bless you Laura.
@@PYahWeh if immaturity is purity I’d rather be grown
I’m 20 years old and I first heard this song in the movie Baby Boy when Snoop was smoking a blunt in the couch then when Eazy E sampled.. but when I first heard this song I was about 16? I believe this is the first time I see this video but dang!!!! I was born in 99. They do not make music like this anymore!!! Not many people know about this and they don’t have to.. it’s a certain vibe!!!
Keep searching....this is just the tip of the iceberg....
Initialisms I’m also 20 but my grandma and mother listened to this type of music so I grew up with the best music from the 60-90s I would say I’m so bless
Jada Farmer I'm sorry but there was such differences changed from the 60s to 90s. The 90s to today is much more similar than anything before
We havnt stopped playing this type of music in Cali, every generation hears the older heads playing this shit and west cost rap was built on this.
G Santoro the truth. Staples in our rotations
This gives me nostalgia of a time I wasn’t even born in
This.
Big Facts!

He's going to 70 next year & he still looks good!
Bootsy was fine, I'm glad I wasn't born back then to 🤦🏽♀️
Sluts
THIS ENTIRE ALBUM was the sh*t. Everybody, I SAID EVERYBODY had it. The album came with a pair of cardboard sunglasses. Shaped just like his guitar. This man was a weed smoking machine. I'm sure u all hear the GEORGE CLINTON(PARLIMENT) influence. He played with them for a while.
I agree ...this was one of the sexiest things I've ever seen
Not lewd....SEXY
Man, what a performance. These cats were really from outer space!
Fuckin’ Bootsy is a legend. I hope he lives forever.
Listening to all these songs while high is such an eye opener
YES!!!!
Opening is the one thing my eyes DON’T do while high
Perfect high song
