You can see the jimi hendrix influence on bootsy. He's Hendrix with a space bass. I was drunk on this ish as a teenager. Still sounds good to my damn near sixty year old ears.
Much respect OG
My old ear still love Bootsy
Wow, I noticed that too. Even the way he speaks, they both are the definition of cool.
I'm thinking Sly
And Rick James got his influence from bootsy
That whole band was high as a Giraffe's Ass and still sound better than 95% of artists today!

A lot of people don't know that Bootsy originally played bass for James Brown... he was so young. 🙂Straight genius!!! The background singers are killing it!!!
Sound good to me
He and his brother
@AphroditeRising -- Bootsy was my Bloom Jr. High classmate in Cincinnati, OH. Also with his brother Catfish, Kash, and Philippé Wynne, the SPINNERS Philippé Wynne, neighborhood guys, formed a band The Pacemakers in 1968. In 1970 Bootsy started playing w/JB @ 17-18 ! HE was silly--serious THEN, and a GOOD guy !!!

I TOTALLY AGREE. THEY MADE THE SONG. I LOVE BOOTSY BUT HE SHOULD HAVE LET THEM SING THIS SONG AND JUST PLAYED BEHIND THEM. BONES AND PEANUT KILLED IT!!

Bootsy doesn't "connect" all those artists, he IS the bassist for all those artists. Literally. Bassist for James Brown, Parliament, DeeLite, and sampled by Childish Gambino.

If you lick his star madallon on the screen within the first 30 microseconds of the footage reaching the point where he takes off his jacket . Then a micro dot will transfer digitally through cyberspace through the power of digital telekinesis.

Starr Company Watch the video of Stanley Clarke’s Night School on UA-cam and early videos of Sly and the Family Stone with Larry Graham on bass. He revolutionized the bass with his style. Now everyone copies him.
He's a legendary player and is in several jazz rock fusion bands with the likes of Buckethead, Steve Vai, Alex Skolnick as well as James Brown and the Funk Bros. Most people only know him for Parliament/ Funkadelic but he has many other projects under his belt.
@Ric Hicks So you saying James was like Prince when it came to work ethics huh?
@@starrcompany3275 No he's saying Prince was like JAMES
@Ric Hicks and I believe it was 1970 when Bootsy became one of the JB's. So it was close to the same time as when the great Larry Graham was slapping that bass up for the Family Stone. Graham got him by about two years.
